The head coach of the Cleveland State Vikings’ Dennis Gates joined Ken Carman and Anthony Lima to talk about his basketball team and the extension he signed to stay downtown. Coach talked about how long he had been in talks with University to resign, what his players discussed with him when rumors that he might leave came up during the season and what the transfer portal means for his team. Coach also talked about if he thinks people are changing the way they coach/run their programs because of the transfer portal, how he was able to keep a player like Torrey Patton and if he ever worries about exposing his players to bigger teams by scheduling major college opponents.
