The Juggling ActThe Juggling Act

The milestones that make being a mum worth it

View descriptionShare

From the outside, motherhood looks pretty rosy. Think of every ad you’ve ever seen of a mum cheering madly at the sidelines or turning around just in time to catch those first shaky steps. Or smiling serenely while serving dinner to her waiting family.Sadly, once you have kids, that idyllic bubble bursts pretty quickly. Instead, you get an onslaught of nappies, projectile vomiting and 4am wake-up calls. Being a mum is often harder than you ever could have expected. But that’s what makes those milestones even greater. On this week’s special episode of the Juggling Act, we talk to mums Bek Day and Melissa Overman about their favourite parts of being a mum and what it felt like to make it through those unexpectedly hard moments.Plus, why we should be offering to make meals for parents of toddlers, not newborns.
