Next, Sharpel Welch (army veteran, 2019 civil society fellow at The Manhattan Institute, and youth community coordinator at Community Renewal International) joins the show to discuss what she learned during her years in the army, and how she turned that experience into helping reduce youth crime and violence in her hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana. And finally, Curtis Schube (legal counsel at the Independence Law Center) sheds some light on a newly proposed ordinance from the Allegheny County Council, which would prevent parents from reaching out for help and getting therapy for a son or daughter who feels they might be gay or transgender.
