Joining John Maytham today, is William Bird, Director of Media Monitoring Africa, one of the 15 leading civil society organisations that have condemned the minister’s actions in a joint statement. Bird has long been a champion for ethical governance, freedom of expression, and media accountability — and today he helps us unpack the legal, ethical and societal implications of what some have described as a “morally repugnant and legally void” directive.

Presenter John Maytham is an actor and author-turned-talk radio veteran and seasoned journalist.
