Amy MacIver speaks to Dr Rebecca Walker, Senior Researcher at Wits University's African Centre for Migration & Society and co-author of a recent opinion piece highlighting conditions at the Musina facility. She joins us to unpack the humanitarian and legal concerns surrounding the centre, what this means for migrants and refugees caught in limbo, and whether South Africa's evolving migration response strikes the right balance between border management, constitutional rights and humanitarian obligations.
