Latitudes Online has partnered with the Salon Kewpie: The Legacy Project initiative to raise funds for The Legacy Ball.

Salon Kewpie, in collaboration with The District Six Museum and the GALA Queer Archive, has developed an educational programme that aims to upskill and empower gender non-conforming youth from areas intrinsically linked to the forced removals from District Six.

CC Martinez

Performance Artist, Creative Director & Cultural Architect

A self taught rogue artist who dove head first into the commercial dance industry, amassing a decade of hands-on experience, CC Martinez aka Cheshire Vineyard has become one of the most unique interdisciplinary performance artists and creative directors in the game. With a foundational 5 years experience as a founding member and company manager of one of South Africa’s most notorious commercial dance companies, Untimitive Dance Company, as well as touring the world as a close collaborator and mentee of the auteur FKA Twigs

 

Haneem Christian is a graduate of Gender Studies and Environmental and Geographical Sciences from the University of Cape Town. After graduating, Christian forged their way as a formidable Creative Director and Photographer, with a particular focus on representation within the Black and Brown LGBTQIA+ community.

 

Salon Kewpie: The Legacy Project initiative

 

Ten artists have donated work to raise funds for this initiative: Lionel Davis, Marsi van de Heuvel, Oliver Scarlin Chennells, Jody Brand, Haneem Christian, Stephané Conradie, Ben Orkin, Dominique Cheminais, Githan Coopoo and Nanna Venter.

 

The timed auction will be available on Latitudes Online from 17 - 26 April 2024.
