The Volume.

Welcome to Jenus and Jones on The Volume podcast Network. It is Tuesday, December tenth, and it's a spicy meat the ball today.

Nasty motherfucker you.

As always Jaus Jones, Dragonfly Jones aka Tyler Everybody, Jethro Jenkins aka John.

Guardi b A KA Mike Brother, fucking Mike Mother.

Produces Always by the lovely and talented Jackson Staffron and Josh Rodriguez. Why Jackson tweety he wants me to speak in an Italian accident for the whole park. That's why I don't think. I don't even know. This feels like I'm not one of those we live in where this is the simulation. I'm not like one of those people. But like you're telling me that the sharp nosed white man who killed that CEO is a prominent Italian American named Luigi Mangioni Bro.

Graduated from an ivy league. You know what I'm saying.

Like, but his name islgro.

Like bro, like I'll say it in the group chat.

Like you know, there's there's been a whole lot of hand ringing of there's nothing funny to be found here. Once I saw that name pop up, I said, Oh, that's gonna get put to the test. I saw the dude that killed him was named Luigi. I was like, oh, there's a lot of material here, man and keeping it a buck. Twitter did not disappoint with with the fucking jokes. Goddamn.

They said the three shells that he wrote denied defending depos on was the green shells for Mario Kart bro. You know when Zach was that, they said they sent him to the Haunted Mansion. They sent him to Luigi's Haunted mansion.

Job the chad said, it's gonna be the cell blast going to be called Luigi's mansion.

Zach Fox only hops on Twitter for the best topics, you know what I mean, Like, if it's not a banger, well you know what Zach hops on. It's like, okay, you know what I mean, this is this is a good one. Let's all lean in, you know what I mean.

Crazy, The chatter said, instead of that's how the cookie crumples, that's how the Ravioli falls.

I just don't like. I actually was sitting here like thinking about it, like it was Calculus yesterday for like twenty minutes, Like, could you think of a funnier cartoon character for the for murderer to be named, Like, it's not even Mario, Like, it wouldn't even be It's funny if it was Mario, Like, it's so funny that it's Luigi. Like I can't even wrap my head around it.

Bro.

It's like if I was hanging out with my Italian family making fun of Italian names, Luigi Mangioni is the fake name we would come up with, Like you're being a real Luigi Mangioni over there?

Uh?

Yeah, that was a rare day. Was there any for our people in the chat who are on Blue Sky? Was there any funny jokes made on Blue Sky that were not made on Twitter?

I would like to know the answer to that question. That's not a question that needs to be answered, Bro, you already know the answer to it.

G didvice anything like we ain't going over there for this type of ship just typing ellipses right now?

In no way, Bro, do they even know what happened yet? That happened over there? Yeah, right right over there?

What What did y'all get? Like two percent serious? What did y'all think of? There was quite a bit made of the fact that this was a McDonald's employee, who's who called the tip line on this dude or something? What do you what do y'all make of that?

Was there money involved in it?

I think they said there was a ten thousand dollars reward.

Oh, which is weak, Yeah, that's weak as hell.

But I mean somebody at McDonald's hit a lick, like you know, ten raction, just just just to call the cops on the motherfucker.

Like that's it.

And they found him with all the evidence on him, like they said he was on on like a greyhound going somewhere across the country or some shit like.

I don't know, bro, It's just.

Wild to me that you are riding around with a murder weapon and a manifesto and you stopped for a motherfucker eight McMuffin and that's how it all goes down.

Bro.

It's just looking suspicious as hell, bro, Like I don't like list is how.

Suspicious did you look to look suspicious inside of McDonald's only suspicious motherfuckers eat in McDonald's. You were suspicious a bunch of suspicious motherfuckers like you was tweaking.

You know what I mean? Like, what the fuck was you on?

I saw my.

Nigga, we thought this, No, I ain't thinking. Motherfucker thought this. Nigga. It was a professional he round here riding around with the weapon.

Bitch, you should have tossed that motherfucker like eight seconds after you you know, beak that motherfucker. You know what I'm saying, Like the hell type shit a whole manifesto. Yes, I did it, Luigi MANIONI, that's me, motherfucker.

It's me Luigi, Like, what the fucker you all dug? You know what I mean? You was tweaking? You feel me?

All that motherfucking brain power to do the dumbest shit after you did what you did, crazy bro, You.

Didn't have to be that way.

But I will say this, I'm not mad at a McDonald's fucking worker for turning them in for to get ten bands and you're like, h Like, at one point in my life, I was making twenty six take home, bro, twenty six K take home? You feel me like, nigga, ten K would have fucking changed my whole shit. I remember I got like twelve hundred from some from HBO on for the for the uh Doug friend shit.

Nigga. I thought I was rich, bitch, you know what I mean.

I was like, nigga, shit, twelve hundred all this nigga for ten k luise. You gotta sit this ass down, Nigga, you feel me. I don't know that, Nigga.

I know the kids want Christmas, you know what I mean? That's what I do know.

I ain't mad at him, but like y'all, I just I feel like, bro, like, why was you moving in that way? That's just crazy, like you moving? I mean, I guess a motherfucker that had no business killing somebody ain't built for it, did it? And they, you know the reality of it, you know, they're allowed to move afterward.

Like we were narrativising this as like he was Jason Bourne, but actually the police just let a guy who did not know how to get away with murder escape the city of New York for a solid couple of days and then yeah, like you said, he was arrested with the murder weapon in his backpack, as well as a manifesto. Which you know, how like whenever anything happens involving an adult film actor or actress, they refer to them as a porn star, even if it's really like a sea tier person.

You know what I mean.

That's how I feel about them calling this a manifesto, bro, Like this is like you have words, dog. They said it was tiler. They said it was a page and a half. Bro, that's not What if it's some heat in that motherfucker? What if it's quantity, you know, quality over quantity. This is like a mixtape versus album debate, Like what's the different It has to be it has to require staples to be a manifesto.

So you think a manifesto has to involve a certain degree of rambling.

It has to get to at least five pages, Like a page and a half to me, is a memo.

I mean, he has a statement was kind of a bang.

I feel you know what I'm saying, The little excerpt you read to us was enough for a manifesto.

We're gonna get to the unibomber element.

I feel like the intention, you know, is what defines a manifesto more than the like if you if you're explaining some diabolical shit you did, it's a manifesto, you know.

I feel like that's if I explain that in.

Three sentences, though, Like if I explain that in a tweet like if I explain some crazy shit I did in a two hundred and eighty character tweet, I don't feel like you could call that a manifesto. That's a reach though, is manifested shit best?

I feel like manifest.

The chat saying, And I think a lot of people are also talking about this angle online about how it doesn't feel quite right that this guy who is a valedictorian, a Penn grad and successfully executed someone and disappeared into the wind for multiple days is just getting caught with all of the evidence.

People saying that don't know crazy people bro like and I don't even say that on like trying to be like this dude clearly has had like his lost his mind after this back surgery and everything else. Like y'all saw the tweet I said, I sent this ship to the group chat what Tyler said the funniest ship ever?

Oh well him talking hoops.

No, the tweet where the guy tweeted at him, Hey, man, I need you to call me.

Yeah.

I don't know if you are okay or just in a super isolated place and have no service, but I haven't heard from you in months. You made commitments to me for my wedding and if you can't honor them, I need to know so I can plan accordingly. That Tyler Tyler said that was when he was in the Himalayas training with Rachel Ghoul, Like did you see yeah.

Yeah, bigus, you don't worry about your wedding, buddy, hear for the reckoning.

Did you see the tweet about the hoops to I've seen a bunch of them.

There was a hoop swing who was talking about like, you know how ball used to be and what niggas need to get back to.

And I'm like a motherfucker that puts that?

Is that real? People were photoshopping like their own opinions.

I don't know. I don't know, I don't know.

I have no idea, But if it was real, I see how he could have killed somebody.

You know what I mean?

A twenty six year old putting that much energy and effort into.

That, Like, Bro, that was paragraphs of shit.

You got abs, Luigi, get your ass outside to put your feet in the grass, Nigga. You putn't that much energy and thought into fucking hoops. Nigga, Bro, you was at little all you feel me?

So?

Yeah, geez I think for the people who need this to like make sense, I think here would be my explanation is it does seem like he wants like there is a publicity element of this to him, Like he had as a YouTube channel that has scheduled drops, Like Tyler sent us that link to that video that was like, if you're seeing this video, I've been arrested. I saw that.

But is that was that real too? That they confronted with his so so they pulled it off. The they pulled it off. YouTube pulled it hasn't been pulling. Wait, video crazy to me?

And if you were to get into conspiracy ship, that's the ship that to me is crazy. Is like all his social media is still up. His good Reads is still up, good Twitter, his Facebook, Like he's on good Reads reviewing the low Action giving him five stars, which is like the most outrageous ship possible to me.

Like what was did not stand up. He's a big environmentalist. If you take a scroll through his really big on like you know, combating climate change and all that, Like he he his pin tweet is like a paper that he wrote in college or thesis or some ship about how dangerous AI is going to be and He's like, if you look at the retweets, he retweets a whole bunch of ship where like the underlying theme is like technological advance answers are destroying human connectivity.

Like that's a common theme with that dude there.

So yeah, it's it's just been it's it's really been interesting in this social media era, in this social media era, to have like insight into this guy's mind in real time, you know.

Well, and I think one of the things that was most interesting, I was like searching to see if he was like a Dragonfly Jones guy or something, because it's like he is a real online sports fan. That does certainly appear to be the case, but he he left a so first of all, he retweeted a couple of different tweets about The Anxious Generation, which is a book I have recommended on this podcast.

Yeah, yeah, and I.

Was like, oh, and then several people DMed me, Hey, this guy is also sort of completely agreed with you about the Unibomber Manifesto. He has a lengthy review has a review on Amazon of the Unibomber Manifesto, like, quoting the specific passages I read on this.

Show, the people might bust yo.

Shit, you keep talking, bro, you got kids, boy, let's tell you the subject.

You know that, you know what I mean. There's a little bit of synergy as they also.

Italian.

I don't know what's going on, but anyway.

You know, it's no one easier to radicalize than a straight white man in America.

Bro.

It's like, I guess, I've just been on I've been on the Internet. That's why I try and stay on the funny part of the internet, you know what I mean. When I start having serious thoughts, I try and get as far away from my computer and my phone as possible. You know, let me work those out outside with the sun on my face and no clickable YouTube videos anywhere near me, because I know I have a hereditary sensitivity to being radicalized into some insane shit.

In this country, so so so are y'all. I mean, people are kind of piecing shit together. And you know, if you look at his header, there's like an X ray of like some back procedure that that had that he got got.

Done, lombar fusion surgery. My brother turned this surgery. My brother turned this surgery down when he was in a car accident. He's been living with a very serious back injury for like the last fifteen years, and he turned that surgery down because of what the people he knew who'd had it said about how debilitating the surgery was.

Yeah.

Yeah, Like that's the thing about back surgery, bro, Like you're rolling the dice like it's you're either gonna be healed or you're gonna be fucked up.

Is that what happened with curR? Is that the one that Kerr had. I know Kerr was dealing with some.

I don't know about that, but Lombard fusion is what the It's the one that he had. That's what the X ray was. And the people who've known him, as Tyler pointed out, have been coming forward like this was a real event in his life. Was you know, having this this surgery seemed to be kind of a break with And that's again as we've discussed that that is the problem with all the rabbit holes around on the internet, bro, is like if you're trying to fall out of reality, it's a lot of really soft landing places on the internet at this point, you know what.

I mean, what was the reasoning behind him having a surgery? Was there? We don't know he was a wrestler. We know that much. He was a high school wrestler.

He was living in Hawaii. I think he was doing some clear he was like, yeah, he was like that.

I think the Hawaii thing was after the surgery.

I saw a video that again I do not know if this is like true or not true, from someone who like runs this co living space in Hawaii and he said it's for a lot of like remote workers who want to come to Hawaii and like you know, find themselves or whatever. And he was like he was like trying to find himself after like the accident, Like he was like really nice.

All these people have said he's really nice. Again, but why did.

You delete all this shit?

I mean, if you have a murders somebody, you know what I mean, Like, I don't want people to know all this shit about me.

He's twenty six, That's what you're not realize.

Again, Yeah, they look at me.

Generation man, he had a fucking scheduled YouTube drop for when he got I.

Think I thought this is when he knew he was gonna get caught.

Like when they had his face, they showed his face like he knows it's over with Like like he got he got, he got got? You feel me, like, if that didn't happen, you think he's dropping? Like does he not going back to living regular life? You know what I'm saying, Like or what was left of his regular life? It seemed like he was, you know, kind of you know, in a particular mental space, you know what I'm saying.

But yeah, like I don't know.

I wonder if that happened after he sees that, you know, I'm God, So now let me tell my story because it's only a matter of time. I'm on the run type shit. If they didn't have his face, what did they have of him?

You know what I mean? Like, so.

We do have to wonder if he would have been caught because he was copy because he was recognized, so like it really was, because it's a fucking Luigi Mangoni could not help flirting with the chick at the hostel.

Twenty six year old couldn't help.

I get it, bro, your body gonna make you do what it's gonna make you do. Man, you know what I'm saying, Like, what did you just do to your camera?

I'm trying to disguise my appearance in case anyone's watching.

You gotta hide your location.

But dig you know what I'm saying, talk about the UNI bombers and all of a sudden this happens.

One things a.

Lot of a bro.

Yeah, but no, that's a Tyler. Tyler hit it on the head, bro like this, This dude had a rollout for his arrest. Like this is a generation that we can't even wrap our heads around. But I'll say this and we we we mentioned this on a previous show. On the last show. The politicians and the CEOs and stuff, they do need to understand, like they should be thinking critically about this, bro, because like the current Republican agenda in the House is going to be to cut Medicare, Medicaid, social Security, all this other shit. All you need to do to keep people happy in this country is crumbs off your table. That that has worked for three hundred years. But someone said, like this is you know, some of the politicians like this is un American. And someone pointed out, like, actually, violent uprising over policy differences is what the country was founded on. Like that that's what the country is, bro. And you know, we all grew up, the three of us grew up at a time where we have seen what the world looked like that way, and what the world looks like this way. When we were in middle school, no one had ever heard of a school shooting. Those were two words that had never been put next to each other ever in history. And that is a like there are plans and security and around that shit now because of how horrifically commonplace that is. So these CEOs and the politicians and shit, they should be taking this shit seriously, because if you go anywhere on the internet, it wasn't just jokes about this, dude, bro, but it's, like we talked about on the last show, all the news coverage of this is like, this is a horrific tragedy. And every person you talk to, even off the internet, the most you were getting was like, damn, that's crazy. You weren't getting like, wow, we're falling apart as a society. Like that's not how the people are feeling about this shit, you know what I mean. I'm not pretending Twitter's reality, but like.

And everyone is in agreement on both sides of the political aisle, which is interesting, Like, ye, what was all this time you saw that exactly? People in Ben Shapiro's comments were flaming him, flaming him for saying like we gotta like everybody for whatever his take was about.

It, flaming him, yeah, like this is everyone agrees.

Bro.

Motherfucker Elon Musk had to delete a tweet yesterday. Did y'all see that shit? He he made a tweet talking about some Let me let me find that shit because it was just wild. And like, you know, Elon Musk knows when he's gonna, you know, piss off the Libs and the left, and he keeps that ship up. But he was getting shipped back from from his people, folks. Yeah, from his people where he was like, hold up, wait a minute. I might have gone too fucking far here.

But basically, I.

Mean, their whole political movement grab the tiger by the tail, bro, But they don't understand. It's like, these people aren't just angry at Democrats, They're angry at people in power, you know what I mean. Like, and I don't think they understand that. I think they think that they're pointing this group of people at someone, and that's not what's happening. That's why Trump was getting booted at his own rallies when he was talking about the vaccine. You know, what I mean. It's it's like they aren't like puppeteering this shit. There's just a lot of really angry people in this country. But to me, that's the like under that's the underlying thing of it. Is like there's a force in this country that will get worse if they make circumstances harder on people. And I don't think they understand that part of it. They think it's like, oh, we'll just be able to point him at you know, transgendered people or whatever and keep them angry. It's like, no, they're mad at the people who have money like that.

They think they think Trump was the anti power, right, like anti of what he actually is. So if he proves to be what he is to them, they will turn on his ass too, you know what I'm saying.

They did it with the vaccine shit. When he was at his rallies, talk about like trying to take credit for like oh you know we we we got the vaccine through, you know, like this is gonna save everything. He was getting booed at his rallies and has They love.

To clean the swamp shit, but when they realize he is part of the swamp, you don't want his ass about it.

And when they realize that all of the swamp cleaning that he wants to do is telling Elon Musk and Vivek to to cut all of.

Their right, right right that would be benefiting them directly.

Yeah, yeah, okay, I found a tweet. He says, it's the disgusting how everyone is turning this guy into some kind of folk hero. Insurance companies, like any company, have a duty to shareholders to maximize product, no matter how. And then he says, he says, no matter how, and then he says, no matter how ruthlessly. He says, the radical left, expecting otherwise, needs to grow the hell up.

Oh my god, everybody said they think you are the human beings.

I'm not.

I'm not.

I'm not like you so clueless super clue and I'm not sitting here going I'm not. I'm not even making the free Luigi jokes, you know. But like, if you think this, if you think a handsome young Italian man named Luigi is not going to turn into a folk here over this ship, it already happened.

That is such an insane tweet.

That's an insane tweet.

That's one of the craziest tweets I've.

Ever that's I can a paraphrase that I wanted to exactly ready is the word.

Ruthlessly no matter how ruthless crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy super.

Crazy today sorry today.

No, no, I don't know.

He also had some tweet that he did not delete about almost us whatever, which is not about the point now, but just to say that, like, the point of the country is not to maximize profits. The point of the country is to make people, make sure people are able to survive and thrive in the country.

Like I think, bro, let that motherfucker keep talking like that. Let the people that have supported him realize what the fuck he really is. She gonna get real dangerous around this motherfucker. Christy, that's crazy to say that ship in this.

After after hundreds of thousands of people are coming out of me, like my healthcare has fucked my family up for life. My healthcare didn't give my mom a wheelchair when she had her legs amputated. My health care didn't get give my mom medicine one shit, Like after hundreds of thousands of people are saying, you're gonna go it's all about the shareholders. Babba, don't even who cares literally, he's just like, who cares?

Yeah, you's so insane that that illustrates a line of thinking that applies to his ilk and his side and the people that side with him on a lot of things, where there's an understanding that yes, some of us, some of the folks who are riding with us, are going to have to get shitted on for us to get these these these policies and stuff and such implemented that we're all for. And people sign up for that right because they think it won't be them. But the thing about healthcare is that that ship it does not discriminate at all. It fucks over everybody. It doesn't give a fuck if you're white, It doesn't give a fuck you know what class you're from. If they can find a loophole of technicality to deny you coverage, they will regardless. And I think that's why he got such backlast year because everyone was like, wait a minute, healthcare fucks everybody over everyone. If you have an ailment and you you know, you know, go and provide your health care information, you're always concerned if this is the roll of the dice, am I going to be comfort here? That applies to everyone, Bro and I think that's what he didn't realize there.

Yep, yeah, no more.

There was a story of women shared about her having an issue getting it cleared by her health care company. After the procedure was done, they decided no and tried to charge her. Luckily, the doctor was like, they do this ship all the time. We have lawyers for this. You'll be fine, don't trip. But like, this is how ruthless these motherfuckers are.

You don't know one person that does not have a bad story about that that has that's you could not have.

Everybody has a bad experience, and you know what I mean with this ship, and this is a place where we should not have at least we should have to deal with this type of ship period. But this is the one place where like we truly should not have to deal with this shit. And I think everybody's on that side, you know what I mean. And he has no fucking idea when he's talking about like being a capitalist when it comes to health care, how they have to you know, think about you know, shareholders and the you know, responsibility of making money when it comes to health care. How insane that sounds to normal humans? You know who I have to deal with this system in a particular way. Unreal, bro, But yeah, let him keep speaking like this, Let them keep speaking like this, Let him keep showing who the fuck they really are to people that supported their goofy ass, you know what I mean. I hope they keep stumbling over shit like this or it can go left for the ass for a show, you feel me?

Yeah, all right, that's wild.

That is such a wild statement.

One corporate merger that we approve of was the NFL, ESPN and the Simpsons came together on Monday Night Football for what we thought was an incredible broadcast. Shout out to longtime front of the pod Mina Chimes. I don't think anyone in America liked their job more than Mina did yesterday. She was having a fucking ball on that broadcast where not one other person got a single Simpsons reference she was making, which I do feel like is a part of Simpsons nerd culture is making Simpsons references at people who don't know you're making Simpsons references. But I thought they did a great job on this, and we got to see the cowboys embarrassed in yet another universe. Tyler, how much did you like the Simpsons Monday night football broadcast?

I love the Simpsons broadcast. That shit was cute as hell. Thut Like, there's really no other word for it. It made me realize how much I love the Simpsons. Like I'm someone who I haven't watch I have an appointment watched the Simpsons and shit ten fifteen years, Like I haven't just plopped down on a Sunday, like, oh, I have to watch the Simpsons.

But it's a show that was there through my childhood. You know.

We were from the era where you got like two Simpsons reruns every evening at like six o'clock or seven o'clock or some shit, right like back to back. And so I've watched like just about every episode of The Simpsons up to like you know, season fifteen or whatever, and yeah, it it just reminded me of how much of like a comfort show that the Simpsons is for me, you know what I mean.

That was kind of my big takeaway from there.

I think, like what's been special for me is my kids found it's my favorite show ever by far. We got all kinds of We got Simpsons books, we got I was buying the DVDs. Bro I got the first ten seasons on DVD. Like that was my you know, yeah, so like we we loved it. My best friend and I that would we would communicate at eighty percent of what we said with Simpsons references to other twenty percent that was Conan references. That was like the entire language that we spoke. We would at six and six thirty for the reruns, like Tyler said, the syndicated ones, we would sit there and like see who could name which episode it was the fastest, you know what I mean, Like how many seconds are you into the episode before you're like, it's this episode. And what's been cool for me is our kids found the show on their own. They just found it out Disney Plus, Like we weren't trying to like push it on them at all, but they started watching it like three or four years ago. For the Treehouse of Horrors because Disney just put all that shit up front for Halloween, you know what I mean, And they just they got obsessed with this. So the kids have seen everything. We've been watching the new episodes cause the kids, which are much better than I would have thought they would be, to be honest with you, they've done a good job of like bringing the show forward into like modern culture. There's a John and I were talking about, you know, the bittersweet pain of your kids getting older. The best thing ever made about that feeling was the Simpsons episode last year that, like every person that I've sent it to was like, oh yeah, I cried like a bitch the last ten minutes that he sent me that moll fucker will.

Yeah, it kills They don't age, do they They don't age? Do they know? They have fast forward episodes?

Yeah, okay, okay, yeah, which those are the kids' favorite episodes. Also when they when they show the when they show everyone older. But there was an episode last year when Vinnie was in fifth grade that was about Bart being about to graduate elementary school that was like, it's pretty good. It's pretty good.

Yeah.

Yeah, it's about Marge having a nervous breakdown about her kids growing up. But anyway, so what was cool to me? Was I got to see My family was the target demographic for this, because Vinnie and I both love football, Charlot's football. Our daughter does not like watching sports on television, does not like it for ten seconds. And she was so locked in on the Simpsons broadcast last night that when I had to leave, she was texting me Ralph scored a touchdown, Millhouse fumbled the ball, like, how.

Big of how big of a Lisa fan is? She strikes me as a Lisa.

She loves Lisa for sure.

She was cooking too, she got she had two touchdowns. Yeah, Lisa was cooking.

Dog Maya likes she likes the weirdest ship on the Simpsons like she so she'll like any was anything time they do something super weird. She likes that. But she likes Lisa for sure. Then they both are huge part fans. What's weird? The other thing too? As you get older, and I think you know, when we were older as kids, you start liking Homer more and more. But when you watch the show now, you feel like it's a show about Homer and Marge. Well you're a kid. You felt like the show is about the kids. You know what? I mean like and it sort of holds up on both ends.

Of that, But wonder Yours is like that.

Exactly.

So if you if you got Shorty's bluey Bloe feels that way too.

Blue is very much for everyone who's watching it.

Yeah, for sure.

For sure, it's a blue episode about your kids growing up from two to three.

Too.

I don't talk about it, bro, Like every morning I'm like heearing, I'm like Comba's Somy's hair. Yeah, you know what I'm saying, and like like fighting tears, you know what I'm saying, Like, what the fuck is this show trying to do to me?

Bro?

It's it's seven forty fucking five, bro, you know what I mean. It shouldn't be like this. Like Ray Show, Race Show, such a great show.

You've seen every you see the one where they age them forward.

Yeah, I've seen every episode. You see the one about the sister, the.

Camping trip where they age forward.

Oh the kid, yeah, when they oh my god, the one with the sister when the sister came to visit hadn't been in a while, like something.

Like that, who didn't have kids?

Oh my god. It's just such a beautifully done show like it and like it'll show like I love how.

It shows like the Mom, you know what I mean, Like like, first of all, the show's a dad in the way we don't see dads, you know what I mean. But like we've never like nobody gives spaces for mom the space for moms to be human. You've never seen something where a mom is human, like they're perfect, perfect, perfect perfect. It puts a lot of pressure on moms. But like it shows like the Mom is like, Okay, I need thirty minutes, like you know what I mean, Like I got it, And that's so human and rather feels like scene, you know what I mean.

Like I just I just love that.

I just I love that they're doing that type of shit because I never have seen a show where like the mom had space to just be you know what I'm saying, normal, you know, a show for kids at least, you know, I think.

A similarity between Blue and The Simpsons is there shows that it can make you feel seen without making you feel like you're watching educational television.

Yeah, you know what I mean, Like it's actually organic, natural, real.

Yeah, it's not good characters, Yeah, it's not forced, you know what I mean.

So we're gonna do this for the moms today. We're gonna show how dad shit.

Yeah, this is it's important that moms have time for themselves.

Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, it is important. But like show you know you feel me.

So yeah yeah yeah show. We did a it was a bluey Uh, real life experience in LA last year was a good kids. It was cool, bro, the kids, the kids, the kids.

The kids like Bluie.

Oh, our kids are obsessed with Blue. That's how we started watching it.

Yeah yeah, okay, okay, if.

It's on Disney Plus, I feel like my kids have at least tried it and decided what you're like. Now we've seen we watch every episode of Blue together.

Uh.

Great show. I think that's the best show. Honestly, I'm dead seriously, I think that's the best show that's been on television in the last like ten years.

Agree. Agree.

If you think about the quality of writing and storytelling happening in like the seven minute span, it's really it's a different art form than what we have in America. They're not trying to get you to watch fifteen hours in a row, but it's beautiful and it's it's concise as ship. We need a Blue us.

Every time to you said we need a Blue NFL game, I might tap in and fuck it with Sony geez.

Bring the whole family along, nigga. We all love bluee Man.

It's crazy you like sometimes she wants to watch guess how much I love you. It's like, uh, you know, uh, browns. I don't know brown hair or something anyway, but but like he would rather be like you want to watch You don't want to watch Blue because we would have watched Blue.

We don't want to watch this ship because most of it's good.

Right cut pepper pig off, which.

The dream one cup of pepper pig over with. Plus that show is trash. It's just straight sugar.

You know what I'm say.

It's like feet of your kids Skittles, a mouse Clubhouse. I watched with fucking Vinny Bro or Chucking Hey. Only parents my exact age watched Chucking two with their kids.

Bro.

It was a fucking It was a combination between Thomas the tank engine and Paw Patrol. That's what Chucking was. This is the train that puts out the fires, like this is a fast train.

That ship, Bro, you earned Bluey, You earn bluidh you know what I mean.

We're old as fun though old as fun. Bro.

All right, jim Butler a trade. I have not been on my phone yet, but Jackson texted me that this occurred. Is this true?

I haven't seen this is true.

Jimmy Butler and his agent have officially said that they are open to a trade, and they prefer, you know, a title contending team.

What happened to him? A hero?

I thought they was buddies man, and he just hadn't that good is his culture?

They just sucked to that. But he's the guy. So if they sucked to that, is that not like he doesn't have some responsibility for that.

He does.

But the immediate teams that people are are sort of connecting him to are the Golden State Warriors, who have been long interested in Jimmie Butler.

Yeah, some people are talking about the Los Angeles Lakers. Not sure what the Los Angeles Lakers have to give, but.

It's interesting, and I think I think people are also just generally thinking Western Conference teams assuming that at Riley won't want to trade Jimmy.

To why just because the entire fucking conference is over five hundred.

Pretty much and that Pat Riley is a pretty prideful guy and won't want to trade me Butler.

I can see. I mean, I can see Pat not wanting to trade him to a guy. I can see him trade him to the fucking Pelicans or something, you know what I mean. Like, I don't I don't really see Pat being like, oh, you want to burn my franchise now, like, let me make sure you get to your preferred destination, Champ.

Yeah. I don't know. I probably see a trade, you know what I mean?

Like, yeah, you want to go to Utah, New Orleans? You know?

Uh?

What do you I?

So this is here.

Here's something I was thinking about when Jackson texted me this. The two players that I have the least idea what their legacy will be or what we'll think about them ten or fifteen years from now. Is Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard like two players who will be able to say, if you were there and you were really paying attention, you saw how good they were. But I don't know how Jimmy Butler is going to be like remembered by basketball, you know what I mean? What do you think Tyler? First of all, what do you think about asking for a trade and where do you is he a demand to trade to a title contender guy at this point, bro, Like, I don't know. I'm just sort of confused by the timing and the request. I guess I just don't really get it.

I mean, uh, the team's heat on his list were Dallas, Golden State in Houston. I believe he's a Texas s gott from top Yeah.

Go to a top five, are in the top five in the.

West, yeah, Houston.

You know, I think probably Miami will play hardball there and really want them to give up. I mean, they probably asked for Saint June on the table off top. I don't see that happening. But I don't know, I think, I mean, god, I don't want him to go to Golden State. I think that he would fit perfectly there, which was just fine there. But yeah, I just I don't know. I think his time in what the heat has probably reached reached this end. I think both all parties are probably a little sick with with each other there, Like we saw, you know, it got to the point where we were seeing public blowouts last season, you know, with with with him and and and Spoe and and all that ship.

So I don't know, bro, I I don't.

I don't know if, if, if pat Riley would really just like send this dude to purgatory or some ship, though, but I think that, Yeah, I think, I think I think he would. Probably I see Jimmy Butler getting with his wish gran and going to one of the teams of his destination you know, on on his destination list.

He gave that franchise everything he could, you know what I'm saying, Like he fought hard as fun for the finals twice, you know what I mean.

As the head guy, I don't and I don't even think.

I think Jimmy Butler, I don't know if he's a guy on a championship team, you know what I mean, I don't think he's the number one.

I don't think it's it's.

You think this from an acceptance of that, then it's like let me go.

And I think I definitely think he's accepting that, especially with the teams he like what people want to go to, the.

Warriors, Warriors, Mavericks, Rockets, but Warriors and Mavericks for sure, Like he's not the man, you know what I mean, he knows that, you know so like I think he understands that any wants them with a chip.

He's been there twice.

He didn't have the fire Powery, he did the best he could just getting there, you feel me.

So I understand how he feels.

So I mean, like, yes, you know, things have been more you know, heated at you know than the no pun intended, you know what I'm saying, and then you know that's nasty.

Then then you know then that they would have liked.

But I don't think it's because I think it's just justified this point. Yeah, he's done, They've done everything they could together.

It's time to move on.

He's also thirty five years old and pat Riley apparently does not want to pay him anymore, understandably five.

But that's what I just felt like he was at a point where it was like he's a heat for life, Like I just felt, you know, I just felt like he was. I don't know, that's why it surprises me, Like it feels like it's a little late in the game to me to try and like be muscling shit around, especially with the wall.

Yeah, I think sat is saying, and I think a lot of people are saying that this felt like a move they should have.

This felt it should have happened.

Last year, yeah, at the latest, yeah.

Or the year before that they made the finals. But but last but last year it felt.

I'm just saying, if he was going to decide that his place in the NBA was going to an existing title contender, that feels like a realization he should have had last year at the latest, I guess, is what I mean.

It's kind of like they went to the finals right, the year before that, right, and then last year like the man in the middle of the season after you just went to the finals.

It's kind of odd.

I mean, it's I don't think it's I don't think he made a mistake in deciding.

When I think the decision, I think, like it's just bad just timing. Yeah, it's just the timing.

It just be like this sometimes, you know what I mean, Like it would be really weird for him to do that, you know, after going to the finals, you know what I mean.

So yeah, that's true.

All right, Okay, My one question before we move on is if Jimmy Butler goes for the Warriors or the Mavericks, not that we know exactly, what would we be going back in return of that trade. But what does that do to Does that make the Warriors like a actual contender? I feel like a lot of people everyone's port of agree if they're like not really right now, and the Mavericks made the finals last year, does that make them like the favorites in the West? And probably not with the thunder, but like, what what without knowing the compensation, how does that move the needle?

It obviously makes both teams better, but I don't think it makes them, you know, locks to to go to the finals.

The West is tough, man.

I do think that if he does go to the wards, they're gonna have to give up Minga and and I think the Warriors would be fine with that. I think they've they've given up on that whole, you know, two path ship of trying to win now and prepare for the future after that whole Jordan Poole incident blew up in their face.

I think they should.

Yeah, that only that only works when you're scripting the TV show. That does not work.

Yeah, yeah, that dude track ship does not work.

Now you've got a guy Steph who is an all time great and still have some gas and get get that man some help asap. So I do think Butler, Draymond and and Steph that's I think that's tough. I don't think it's good enough to win the West, though.

We gus hes been playing good though, he's been solid's been playing solid too.

He's been solid too.

I mean, they might give him up in the trade, if you know, if you know, but well, I don't know.

He's been playing, I don't know, making pretty good.

I think I think I think he's a I like maybe because I'm biased, but and uh, I think Dallas would be scarier to me.

Yeah, yeah, for sure, Yeah, absolutely, Okay, we sat on Sunday. We were gonna talk about the jay Z allegations and response today instead of Sunday because I think stuff was kind of just coming out and we were just starting to get our head around it. But what are your guys' thoughts about what's out so far? I know, Tyler, you mentioned on Sunday and we were talking off air about first of all, kind of an insane statement that he put out, and I would add on to what you said. It's kind of crazy that he put it out from Rockefeller, not from himself, which is its own interesting decision, I guess, But what are your what are your thoughts?

I've been staying away from the discourse from this online because but shit like this whenever it involves a celebrity or or a musical artist, especially when it's revered as jay Z, you know, a guy who's a lot of people's goats and whatnot and shit.

I mean, like we've discussed this before.

If all things considered, he would probably get my vote for the rap goat, right, Like, I'm a fan of his music. But with that said, Bro, I'm not hopping out there and defending anyone on those shit like this, especially a celebrity who I don't fucking know, right, right, these are some serious allegations. That statement that he put out. I completely understand wanting to adamantly fight these accusations if you're not guilty, right, I completely understand that being accused of what he's being accused of.

Not too much in the world you can be accused of.

I get that, period, But that statement did not run me the right way, bro. Like I said, if you're gonna get out here and deny that, I don't have a problem with that. Everyone is entitled to do process of law. And what have you. But for him to there was just so many plays being ran out of the victim blaming playbook and that statement for me, the whole this does a disservice to the real victims. And why didn't you take this to criminal court? And why are you coming forward now? And why are you hiding behind anonymity? Right, It's just that that is the victim blaming shit that we hear so often with this and I thought that jay Z and rock Nation will be way more professional than that, right, And like I said, I completely understand emotions might be running hoig because this is some vile shit to be accused of, but I was not rocking with that statement at all. But basically, yeah, bro, I mean that's where I'm at, Like, you know, to echo a point that we made about the Andrew Schultz shit, Like some shit is bigger than rap. I'm not going to blindly go to bat for anyone. It's just because I like this music, just because I'm a fan of them as rappers. You know, this is some really viole shit he's being accused of, and we'll see how it plays out. I'm and like I said, I'm not I would never ever defend somebody, especially a celebrity, blindly just because I'm a fan of their music.

Never.

Yeah, because generally when these accusers are it's very seldom just's accused come out of it and it's fake, you know what I mean. Like, regardless of who it is, it takes a lot of you know, you got to be very brave in order to do some shit like that coming up because somebody like jay Z. It's hard for me to believe that this person would do this and be lying understanding the lawyers that jay Z has and all that type of shit. Jay Z is my favorite rap witers of all time, and this motherfucker did this shit. Put his ass one of the jail.

Bro.

I know it's a civil case, you know what I'm saying, it's not criminal, But I believe one thing he said, Yo, make this motherfucker criminal? You feel me like I agree with that part. But yeah, man, I just I'm not yes, I'm a yeah. There's there's no way I can read what he's accused of and rush to you know, and not think of the thirteen year old that was affected by this ship Yeah, you know what I mean, and think of my like I have no loyalty, loyalty to people that I don't know. You know what I'm saying, You fuck you mean, you know, that's just it's nasty.

You know. We'll we'll see.

But I'm not I'm not jumping out to defend anybody, to defend him in any way.

That's crazy.

And there are some people in the chat and people online, just a couple and I'm not taking chat who are asking questions like why does she get to be anonymous?

Why is she coming out now twenty years later?

Like I understand like the thought behind a question like that, but the reality is that you don't get to blame the victim in that way, and you don't get that you have no idea what that person is going through. And when it's when they're excusing a famous person, specifically, if that person's name is public, their life is ruined because but there are thousands of people who just get to viotally attack them all over the Internet and stock and all of this shit. You don't get to tell them how to handle the situation.

Well, the truth is, though, that people do get to tell them that, which is why you are granted the anonymity, right right, right, that's what I mean, the in the in the court of law, because this is something that gets turned into I mean, you know, to point the lenses, but it gets turned into a topic on podcast, It gets turned into something that people are talking about. It gets turned into women in false accusations should go to jail, like, it gets turned into all this stuff and that that's that's why. And so there's a million different reasons why, uh, someone could have waited a certain amount of time to come forward. And some of those reasons include the potential that it is a false accusation like.

That, Yeah, but I'm saying, like, but if you if you actually went through that ship at thirteen, why it's nobody else's business to know who the fuck went through that ship, right, Like why do you think that you should have access to somebody you know who?

Like let's like why why why? I ask that question? I want to be like why do you why.

Do you want to know who that person is? That person should have the right to be anonymous and to still get justice.

You feel me, Like, let's think about that.

If this person is a victim, which is what we think, what could it's a potential like victims should have the right to remain anonymous. I don't understand why you think you should have access to somebody's personal experience. It's already hard enough that they went through this ship, you know what I'm saying.

But I think and I'm not I don't mean this to be uh critical of anyone asking the question. I think I actually think it's like a good thing to discuss. Why why I'm not making that No, no, no, I think it's good to discuss that. But I think that the truth is And again, I don't mean this to be critical of people asking the question. This is this has been like so few to what Tyler says, so few people who make these accusations are proven to be making false accusations. It is over represented that the people who are making false accusations are making them against people who are wealthy. So like that, and that's that is like true. It is true, and it was very uncomfortable when for a lot of people when this stuff started coming out. It's true. If you know people who've gone from being seventeen year olds to professional athletes overnight, they're told by like player rep union reps to take condoms and personally flush them down the toilet to like in some cases get consent form signed ahead of saying like it is a it is something they are thinking about whether it is fair or whatever in either direction like so. But because of that, I think it's been turned into a topic about this very small group of people that's discussed across all of America in a completely different way than it should be because ninety nine point nine percent of the time someone's making a report about a sexual assault, it's an accurate report. But there's this desire I think, out of a hurt male ego thing to focus on one point one percent and pretend this is like a gender war or something. And I'll give you a personal example from Long Beach. We had a kid, Brian Banks. This was a really famous case who was accused of rape while he was a senior on the football team at Polly. He was later cleared through the Innocence Project of the girl who had accused him. That was a sexual a consensual sexual encounter they had on campus that she had because her dad found out she'd had sex, said that he had assaulted her, and she'd said that because she was afraid of her father. And then once she told the father, the parents realized they could make some money out. So she was recorded saying that it was consensual and he was freed. But what I'll tell you is this, Brian Banks declines to become a part of the manosphere, Like there was lucrative options available for him to be a women are trying to take advantage of you media figure, and he was disgusted by what was being offered to him. And like, that's someone who lost years of his life to one of the very rare instances of a truth like false accusation. Still saying no, no, no, this is a real problem. I don't want to make life worse for women in this country just because of this bad situation that I was in. But it's so I'm with y'all, Like I think you always have to think victim first, one hundred percent obviously, But to a lot of people who you know, don't have the mature perspective. John and Tyler are describing about famous people that don't know it's like, oh, this is an artist who means a lot to me, and that clouds their vision of humanity in my opinion, Like I think that's what I'll.

Be honest, It bothers me, like you know, like It's like I would hope that jay Z wouldn't do something. I grew up watching jay Z, you know what I mean, Like, you know, at a point he was aspirational until I just realized he's just like greedy, you know what I mean.

But like, I just you know, when something like this happens, I mean, I don't.

I just I just I don't see how you don't focus on my thirteen year old.

It's also like people are.

Some people are saying that jay Z's name is public, so she is an adult, her name should be a public too. And it's not her fault that jay Z is a celebrity.

It is not her.

Fault that she that just happens to her.

It's not her responsibility to look out for jay Z's reputation, right Like, it's not her responsibility. So whether you think that she should or should not make her name public, she does not own a single iota of responsibility.

What what what the what would her name being? And that's again where I was like, that was why I gave that rambling explanation from my perspective on why people ask that, because like what would that change exactly? Like like what like like.

Gives people access to her in ways that she probably wouldn't want them to.

It's just you know, an.

Issue of like that people could identify with jay Z and say, if I was famous and someone was anonymous, this is how I feel. But you're we're not famous famous.

And like I said, frankly, it's a personal safety issue. If her name is out, she becomes personally unsafe. Jay Z is rich enough, he is not. Jay Z is fine, is fine.

But from the perspective of like you're a jay Z fan and so you're going like, you know, well, why is his name public and hers isn't, Like again, like what what more information would you gain about these accusations by knowing the person's name, Like how would that give you more information to form an opinion with?

You know?

And I'm not saying like, we're not saying he's guilty, you know what I'm saying, We're not. I've seen a bunch of shit, you know, from the lawyer, from the lawyer that made accusations that like people from the city where he's from have said.

He's just he's shitty.

But at the same time, ninety nine point nineers at a time, like you said, the victim is not. These aren't false allegations, you know what I mean. I have no reason to start off with not believing, right, you know what I'm saying based upon actual fact.

You know what I mean, actual you know.

On the other hand, this is the same lawyer who represented all the plaineiffs against Deshaun Watson, and we all know he was DeShawn was guilty as fuck. He's as a month, but he admitted it with the settlements and the payoffs and having fucking forty massage appointments a month, which is not fucking normal. So I don't know, you got to take that shit with a grain of salt.

Bro.

Look, and this is where this stuff gets turned into a topic like it's It is the case that in this country the way that wrongs are rectified is financially, and so that does feel the way that it feels when like you read those things like someone's being accused of something and the person wants money for it, Like that feels different than I want to beat the shit out of the gat Like it feels different because money is involved. Lawyers make money. There are lawyers who are bad people. There's lawyers who are bad people who are doing great work. There's lawyers who are horrible people, like who are good people doing horrible work? Like that is that is the American criminal justice system for good and ill. Like that just is what it is. But that doesn't change any of the actual facts around the human beings evolved, which is where again I'm not saying this is how everyone else should feel. My personal stance on this, since we now live in an era where everything is offered up for opinion, is when an accusation is made against anyone, unless it is literally made against my wife and children, it's made against anyone. I believe the victim. If it is then proven that the victim is not being honest, then I incorporate the new information and I don't believe the victim. But that's the way I operate, based not on like what someone told me to think, but based on what I have observed in the world and the women that I have known who have not come forward about things or whatever else. Like that's what my observations of the world have led me to use as a personal guiding force. I'm also a jay Z fan. I don't give a fuck.

What does that have to do with anything period?

Anything that you're a fantasy one like I.

Want you to if you have women in your life, I want you to really talk to women about their experiences, truly talk to the women in your life about their experiences and shit that they haven't had, like weren't comfortable coming forward with with regular motherfuckers.

You know what I'm saying. It's truly sickening shit.

The young women have to deal within this women period, have to deal within this fucking country or just world period. But I've heard some shit that is heartbreaking from women that deserved so much fucking better but felt like nobody was there to help them or will believe them.

You know what I mean. And so like gee, like we I mean, we have no loyalty to this motherfucker. We don't owe him shit. He don't give a fuck about us.

If this shit is true, we have you know, It's like like it's just like, bro, you see some shit like that.

And want to side with who the billionaire not the thirteen year old.

It's just really hard for me to fathom that if you actually have real conversations.

With women understanding their experience in this world, you know what I mean.

I mean, it's truly sickening I mean it's you know, I brought to Brian Banksinger bro. Like that started a lot of really real conversations with friends of mine and between different people in the Long Beach around like, and it was a conversation that I was there for between two of my friends where one of them said, man, every woman I know has some sort of a story. Though that's a real story. This girl probably has the story you know too. And our other friends said, I never heard any of those stories. And my friend said, that's because of women in your life. Don't trust you. Then if you've never heard those stories, and he said and they really it got like ugly because he's like, you're talking about my mom. He's like, I am talking about your mom. Like, if you have not ever heard these stories from the women in your life, then they are not trusting you with those stories.

Bro.

I'm telling you, bro, it is nasty as fucking And this is not no whatever the weird shit y'all believe when men take up for women.

I'm not, no, this is my true experience.

You know what I'm saying that it's just dog, it's bro talk to If you have not talked to the women in your life for real bro, like you have no reason to believe this fucking billionaire and there's I'm not gonna go to there, but yeah, there's been shit said in songs that.

Would make you think of a particular way too.

But anyway, all right, I mean, let's take it if the jay Z defenders want to do this whole you know, you know, trying to assassinate character here, Let's take a look at jay Z's history. Let's take a look at how he was on songs with a sixteen year old Foxy Brown.

Ain't no nigga talking real crazy sexually.

Let's take a look at how he you know, hopped out there on Beyonce when she was eighteen and he was like thirty two thirty three. Go listen to his verse on young Girl on Pharrell's album From In My Mind two thousand and six, where he's talking about backing like a twenty year old and he's like thirty five.

At the time.

There's some smoking gun shit here, man, If y'all really want to go that route.

And that's just like I said, it's weird. Yeah, best, it's weird, And I.

Want to reiterate that's y'all are like huge Jay Z fans. That's not coming from people that's right, like, but that's I was.

Watching backstage two hours before the ship dropped, right the j You know what I'm saying, I'm a huge fan, But my nigga can't ignore you know what I'm saying, can't ignore the reality.

That's what he blows out this this conversation. I just want to.

Just give a lot of love and support to all the women in our chat who are doing a lot of shit. I'm not going to name anyone I don't know who wants in the chat versus outside of the chat, who are sharing a lot of personal experiences to try to illustrate the widespread problem of the way that women are treated, not just in this country, but in the world right And there are so many instances of things that happen to them every day that they don't get to report, they don't have to report that.

That they don't even like.

The scope of this problem is so much larger than it seems. And the women in our chat are being very brave and sharing their experiences, and women in the world, everyone who shares their experiences are being very brave when they share those experiences. So I just want to get show love to all the women in our chat specifically, but also anyone who has sort of experienced this type of problem and either spoken out or not because it's you know, but.

An extra I just want to like triple down on. And you know, I know we've heard from a lot of the women who listening to this show that they feel like we're a show that's you know, it's men talking on the show primarily, but that doesn't feel like the other show, a podcast hosted by man, and I know that's something that all of us are really proud about, but like all men are stupid as fuck.

Bro.

Like I've been with my wife since we're eighteen. She had to slap me up side the head in our like mid twenties when I was talking about I think it was it was The Daily Show where someone did an episode about cat calling and I was like, is that really a thing? And she was like, are you out of your fucking mind? Bro? She was like, when I was fourteen walking home from the bus stop, people were yelling this and this and this and this, and I was like, you know, because you know you're with your woman, you don't see that that doesn't happen most of the time if you're with a guy or whatever, you know what I mean. But it's it's that like you're aware of this. You're aware of some of this stuff. But like you said, even when you're in a relationship with someone, you talk to each other, you trust each other. I don't think we could ever see more than the tip of the iceberg about what they actually have to go through just by being alive, you know what I mean.

When I was in my and this is this is this isn't super graphic, but it's just to show you, like how motherfucker's name. I was in my mid twenties and one of my friends told me that she had a plan if somebody was trying to force her to do something like this is what I'll do, just so it won't be as traumatizing as it could be. Like there are things that women have told me. It's hard to believe.

I hate this figure out anyway. Yeah, it's it's like, dude, I hope y'all the people are.

Asking these questions and the question her.

I hope you take time to talk to the women in your life.

Because I employ you too, because you know, I have a daughter we have wives, I think we need to support them in ways that we aren't. Yeah, and it's just it's I'm not I'm not like fuck me, you know what I'm saying. I don't want to make this about me because I'm most of what it's like. It's it's truly disgusting. You know what the people that we love are going through when they leave the house and what they have to worry about, right, and we should work to do whatever we can to change that for the women we love in our lives. And one thing at least would be this. When you see these victims sharing themselves, will be to support them.

You lose nothing by doing that, and it will mean a ton to the women in your life. You know who? You know who most every most women I've known, everyone I've talked to, has experienced the ship. So I'm just saying, man like you, you you know.

It would mean something to the women in your life to not come home from work. And you're saying, you know what I heard about this lawyer?

You know that? Yeah? Or Jays's my favorite rapper? Like come on, bro, like.

Anyway, listen to thank you to the women in our chat and uh, and you know we say whatever we say, but like I said, that's my perspective. My life is from listening to my wife and my mom and the women in my life. So listen to women in the chat. Thank you for sharing and trying to help, you know, And like I said, man, I'm I love our listenership. I got a nice message from clear to Louone the other day about us having that like being the only male sports show she could ever go on. And that's why she has nice comments. She gets positive feet, you know what I mean.

And that's why I'm saying because I know these is a good dude, solid motherfuckers, That's what I'm saying. Like, Yo, go talk to the women in your life please, right, because these are type of dudes that seem that.

They will be able to listen you feel me.

Yeah, And so like this is why I don't question it, because it's the true real life experiences I've had with the women in my life and what they've told me. What the ship that would make your stomach turn, bro, Yeah, I'm telling you we have a responsibility man.

And whatever it is. And like again, man, like I I think people feel like when this stuff happens, they feel like it's about them. It's not about you, Like it's about this what this person went through and the means they're trying to take around it. It doesn't mean you're being judged by Jenkins and Jones. If you're listening to jay Z today, it doesn't, you know what I mean, Like, it doesn't. It's like, it's what is happening in your head is different from what's coming out of your mouth to the people in your life. And that's the only point that I think we're trying to make everything else about it is personal. If this is a jay Z album that got you through a dark time in your life, that that's what that album. That doesn't change anything to that album like this just yeah.

All right, this city bigger than rap, like Tyler said, period. Yeah.

And and you know, to kind of harp on on John's point and y'all's point about how you know, it's it's real life ramifications to to to people just going this hard for celebrities, the women in your lives who are on social media, who are seeing you go to bat this hard, for rappers who you don't fucking know on the side of just trying to discredit, you know, these type of accusations.

Think about them, bro, think about that.

You really want to alienate people you know in real life, loved ones in real life because you're going hard for a rapper who you don't even fucking know. It's not worth it. We don't fucking know these people. And I'll just leave it at that, bro yep Well.

Said, Well, uh, somber note to leave the pod on. But I know we wanted to talk about the passing of Nikki Giovanni, who is one of your guys's favorite poets that John thinks, you say, your favorite poet, Tyler, Yeah, Tyler's favorite Poe whatever. But yeah, just you know what, what? Uh what?

What?

What have you been thinking about? I have to say I wasn't a familiar with their work. There were two poems of hers I really love that I saw yesterday. I actually didn't realize we're written by her. But but educate me. Educated people who you know, didn't understand how how powerful of a figure she was.

Yeah, Nikki Giovanni man a poet, a writer, an activist, a professor, just you know, a woman who contained multitudes.

She was a giant man.

You know, as I mentioned, my favorite poet ever, I have a very very deep sentimental attachment to her because she's my favorite poet ever, because she was my mom's favorite poet. And you know, I've discussed before about how God I hate fucking using this word since white folks centrified it but woke. My upbringing was where I had black parents who very much were proactive in me learning about black people and black authors and black activism and such. And Nicko Giovanni got introduced to me at a very young age because, as I mentioned, she was my mom's favorite poet. And I remember, like one summer when I was like seven or eight, she my mom, when she would go to work, she would give me and my brother like reading assignments, and she gave us a Nicki Giovanni book and she said, you know, pick a poem out of this, and when I come home from work, you know we're going to discuss it.

You're gonna tell me what you think about it. And that was beautiful. Yeah, And I'll never forget.

The poem that I read was a poem called Nicki Rosa, and it was about Nicki Giovanni's upbringing, as you know, a poor girl in country Tennessee and basically, you know, the premise of it was, you know, we were poor, but life was good.

My childhood was amazing.

And she kind of wrapped it in a bow where she was and she ended it on a note of hope. I hope white people never write about my upbringing because they wouldn't understand. And that like shaped my worldview in a very unique way because you know, you know, like I mentioned, my parents were very very very proactive and instilling black pride to me. And so to to have you know, that poem, which has stuck with me still to this day, it's it's she that's when she like became, you know, a poet who I was very much enamored with, you know, very much. I'm getting a bit emotional here because you know, my mom has passed, and there's times, you know, I revisited Nicki's work just to kind of like, you know, connect connect with my mom a bit.

And and she was a giant man.

And I'm not really like sad because eighty one years bro that that's not a tragedy, that's a triumph. And she accomplished so much and and yeah, I'm I'm and and and something else that I always loved about her was she was an elder who always went to bad for younger black people, which.

Was which was pretty rare.

Right if you saw my feed earlier, I posted a speech from two thousand and seven where she let Bill Cosby ass up. You remember when Bill Cobby went on that fuck young black men, tour your past? Yeah yeah, yeah, and and and she went on and she gave a speech where she was like, you know, that's some bullshit. You know, our kids need love, our kids need affirmation, not fucking off his finger wagon.

Right, and and that's that was.

You know, for for for me to see that was very rare because I have well way more elders in my circle who were on Bill Cosby's time than Nio giovanna time. You know what I mean, Nicko Giovanni. She always struck me as like the cool aunt, like like like you remember when you were a kid at Thanksgiving and you have an uncle give me you shit like boy's them paying two damn bag And then you had the autos stuck out for you like.

You know, he made it grades he stay out of trouble. You know what I'm saying.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, NIKKEDI your money always struck me as that man, just the cool bro. And and she's someone who I admired her work, I admired her intellect, I admired the person she was because she was a person who always led with love for the people, you know, know, especially for for black folks and younger black folks.

So I think her like losing her.

I was putting my daughter to sleep when when I read the news, I'm not going out and talking to my wife like.

Yo, I just feel like we're losing people.

Like it's like that stood on like just morals and morals alone, you know what I mean, that couldn't be bought.

Who's going to replace these people?

Who do we have in power that, like, you know, everybody's standing on I got this amount of money, Like this is the people that people look at, you know what I mean? And that that you know, that that we look up at as aspired to.

We don't have.

People like her that just stood on love and morals alone, stood on things like true beautiful foundational ship for her to speak like how like like Tyler said about her, like I hope white people don't write about my stories. They wouldn't understand, Like what does that mean to a young man. You know what I'm saying, that that sees shit on TV that doesn't represent them, like on tell them, We tell them that there's a whiteness represented much of what we saw of culture outside of our own houses, you know what I mean. And for her to speak to you in that particular way, like we need that, and I don't know if we necessarily have that. There's people like I love Tayannaha. See you know what I'm saying. I think he stands on a particular amount of morals fuck everything else.

You know, tnc is special like that.

There's not many people on that level who move in that way I feel.

You know.

And it's just like I just feel like we're losing people that like we're connected to the roots of who we should be and who we are.

In particular ways.

And it's really sad, bro, It's really sad, you know what I mean, Like I would, you know, I've read her work, obviously, the famous debate or conversation with her and James Baldwin where she's the one person I saw James have to James. You know, I've seen him in all different situations talking to a different type of people.

You know what I'm saying.

And she's the one person that like hit him on some shit where he just had to like step back, man, you know, called him on, called him out on particular things like you know, his misogyny that he didn't necessarily know that he's that he you know, supported in a particular way.

So like she was just special.

She wasn't and she was a baby at that time when she spoke with him, Like I mean, she's just a brilliant, brilliant woman, and I just I feel like we're losing that and and and it's just it's really it's really sad for me thinking about like you know, like I gotta sit up and watch this ship, you know what I mean. My mom would speak to me about these people, but like who am I gonna share with my children that are gonna you know, you know, like who who are the people to you know, I just it it bothers me, It bothers me. But yeah, I was just it's just this one hit me in a particular way. Like I was texting the homies about the ship. It didn't in a particular way, but yeah, man, like like Tyler said, she was a giant, special brilliant woman. She did everything she could out here, spoke to the importance of it, you know what I'm saying as well, and.

Definitely be missed for sure.

All Right, on that note, we will be back on Thursday, and I hope everyone has a good week until then. Thank you for listening. We'll see all that night.
