We were here yesterday at least I was carden. Did you have a good Christmas? My friend? How did everything go for the holidays?

I did.

I had a great Christmas. Everything went well. It was everything was a one my friend. It was good to go, and.

That's all you want to say about your holiday. Everything was a one good to go. That's that's all you have to say about your holiday.

I did get engaged. I knew it.

I was about to say, insiding sources say.

You got engaged.

Congratulations, Thank you very much, appreciate you.

You think I wasn't gonna find out.

I wasn't gonna find like, I don't have my inside sources, Martin.

Arnie, I didn't know if you knew to work Instagram to see the post.

I wasn't sure.

I mean, my goodness, man, when did you get engaged?

Monday? Monday? So it took it. It took a while for us to go public with the information. But oh so right before Christmas? Is that?

What?

Right before Christmas? Yep?

I got prosed at two o'clock Eastern, so we were all done with everything in time to watch the packers and put the first shot out of the season on the same you know, got to keep my priority straight.

Well, she's surprised that she know it was coming.

And she had no idea. Was completely shocked.

And Arnie, I'll tell you it was hard to keep it a little hard to keep a secret a secret for so long?

Right, how long?

Have you guys been dating now, it'd be three years of January?

Oh wow, what took you so long for crying out loud? Oh my goodness?

Looking she didn't walk out on you. Oh no, I'm blessed right, I'm blessed lucky.

Well, you know what's funny is I I've never I never proposed to my wife? Is that hell to go down?

No?

She proposed to me, got it? Yes, that's It's the God's honest truth. I you know what, I'll tell the story later on because I'm we're gonna have to. There's a lot of things we want to hear about you. First of all, by the way, thanks for tuning in Fox Sports Radio Martin Weiss, Arnie Spaniel really got a full show today, to be honest with you, But what I want you to do, the best way to get ahold of us is through Twitter. Martin Wise, I'm astincing genius one. And for everybody who's married out there, even if you've been divorced, if you have any advice for Martin, you could certainly tweet that over. We'll get to that a little bit later on Any honeymoon destinations for Martin send out? Oh do you have a destination yet or are you open for suggestions.

Martin, open for suggestions on open on wedding venues, planners.

Best month to get married. I know this.

I have too much respect for my fellow man to do it between September and January.

So you can't do that. I got married in September. Big mistake.

Yeah, it makes no sense in my line of work to sign up for an anniversary in the middle of football season.

But I'm going to start things off.

Here's the advice my grandfather passed on to my father, who passed it on to me, and it's worked so far because my parents were married a long time. Matter of fact, this is this is what my dad told me when they got married. My parents were married over fifty years.

Okay.

When they got married, they decided that during the course of you know, when they were married, that my dad would make all the big decisions that would come along during the course of all the years, okay, and my mom would make all the small decisions that came along during the course of the fifty years. And after fifty years of marriage, there was never a big decision. So if you if you remember that, Martin, if you remember that and always and always hold that close. You will have a happy marriage, You'll have a good time, and nothing will bother you. So just there's never really a major decision unless it's medical or something. Right, but if you remember that, you'll always have have a good time and you always have fun with it. So that's my good advice that was passed on to me that I'm passing on to you, and it worked for me. So there's never been a big decis decision in my marriage either. So there you go.

I'm sure people.

Are gonna have tons of.

Wise words from a decent man, some of some of it's already rolling in right now.

Oh really, there you go.

A lot of congrats out there and stuff. I'll read it during the course of the night. But any advice for Martin as he gets engaged. Honeymoon destinations, maybe the best month to get married, any advice on marriage, you know, the whole married venue stuff, because there's a lot of stuff you don't know, you know, good and bad. I didn't want to do anything, Martin when I got married, Okay, I just wanted to sit in the hotel room with some more dervs and watch some sports. Okay, Now, that was your plan for the wedding night exactly, that was That was my plan. No, before we got married. Okay, that was before we got married, because everybody was running around and you know, I just go just put me in the room and just tell me what I have to be, because I don't want to be running around. So we'll get you advice. We'll give it to you through the course of the evening and we'll see what people come up with. My thing is this too, save your money, have a small wedding, use it on a great honeymoon destination, or or put it away and save it so you can get a house. I mean, things are expensive in that way. You know that, right, Yeah, practical huh.

You know.

I'll do my best. You're absolutely right. Things expense, you trust me. I found that out the hard way this whole year planning this thing.

Yeah, but it's bad.

It is very expensive.

Go ahead, Martin, No, I'll just say, like quite honestly, I gotta get you know, the show before the Odd Couple was they were giving Rob a little bit of a hard time for so much time he took off from the summer. I needed that money filling it for Rob Parker the summer, go to more baseball games.

I think they should have two All Star games. In fact, where did you buy the way? Where'd you get the rings? It's like something in your family. Did you just go to a jewelry store.

No, I went downtown La. She did diamond to stretch.

Oh that's that's a bingal bingal, but good move.

Right there, Diamond District. It was an experience.

I looked around and I because downtown LA is a wild place, man, So I looked around outside after I actually purchased the ring, and I was like, you know what, I walked next door to get a salad and put my ring in the salad bag. Before I just walked right out because it's like somebody's gonna clock me over the head because there's like millions of dollars worth of diamonds just around me.

And it's downtown in LA is not a.

Place where you feel it doesn't feel like there should be millions of diamonds around you.

Then when you're down there, I'll say, I've.

Asked you one more. What made you decide to do it?

Now?

What was the final push that said, hey, you better? Did somebody say you better? Get engaged? Or what was the final thing there?

No, I actually had been planning it for just about a year. You know, Wow, what is RG You need a whole year to plan? Will you marry me? I catch it? You couldn't have done it in a week, or something's wrong with you. It's a lot of moving parts, man.

Come on.

That guy got her family out here. I had to I had to secure a location.

I had to get the ring, I had to make sure everybody could be there.

I wanted to be there to give people enough time to travel.

And her brother was getting married or I just recently got married, so don't want.

To step on his shine, so step step on it, don't care what's wrong with And now you want to Are you not gonna be one of those couples that are like, engage, Yeah, we're still looking for the date.

We've been engaged for three years.

Now, come on, now, come on.

But see, I'm making it tougher because I'm legitimately lopping off half of the year and saying from September to January, don't even bother.

Right, So then it's like so she's.

So, we either can do it in the next six months or the next sixteen months.

So let me give you some more advice. This advice I'm gonna give you. Okay, invite all the people from all from far far away, okay, from like my state in Vermont, and all those people in New York, because hey, they're never gonna come, and they're gonna have to send you a present, so it's a free present, you know what I mean.

That's okay.

But the further the further away, the better because you know they're not gonna come, but they're still obligating to send you a present.

So you invite like a whole bunch of people that you.

Don't think will be coming.

Okay, Okay, So that's that's the way to do it. Huh.

Oh is that genius or what is that not a good idea?

It's stinking genius.

I mean, come on now, it is exactly what you do.

That's what I did.

Invite all these people that you even you met for like once, and then you just go, I just hope they don't come. They're not gonna spend all their money to fly out to Los Angeles come to our wedding, and then you know they'll be forced to send us that uh, you know, coffee maker or expresso machine or whatever you put that on.

Arnie, I think I have to you know, congratulations, but you and the missus first invite to the wedding.

Make sure to send you the registry.

Yeah there you go.

All right, everybody, remember now you can get hold of us at Martin Weiss. I'm in stinking genius one. Any advice from Martin. Congratulations on getting engaged. We do have a lot of sports to get to though. Seattle Chicago. What a barn burder this one is. Seattle's up six to three. I wish this game was over. I I'd rather watch the Bowl game. And that says something for him. The games have been ugly this weekend. They were yet I was filling I don't even know what day it is, Martin, so excuse me if I get the days wrong. Sure, you know, when you have a holiday in the middle of the week, you're filling in. You're not filling in. You know if you lose the days. The games on Christmas were not very good. The game today not very good. We still love our NFL, but this one's been a big forefest between Seattle and the Bears. The only saving grace is that it's close, right now.

Yeah, at least also too, we're not expecting these teams to be like the Bears stink right. Seahawks are okay, they're average, but we're not expecting a lot out of these two teams. I was expecting a lot more on Christmas Day out of the teams that we saw playing in that matchup. But then plus two here, at least we have a little rain, So there's an excuse.

There was no excuse on Christmas Day.

Besides, it's Christmas, and maybe they just didn't feel like being out there.

Well, there was some First of all, it was a big game for the Texans and the Ravens. But you can't lose thirty one to two at home, can't put any points on the board. We've not And I brought this up yesterday, and I was watching a lot of the you know shows on TV and I'm listening on the radio CJ. Stroud. Finally people are starting to jump on him. He doesn't get enough you know throwback. He's had a horrible year compared to the last two.

This was the year he was.

Could have been a possible Super Bowl contender with that team, and he's taking like five steps backwards. He he looks absolutely horrible. There's there's rookie quarterbacks I'd rather have.

Than the way he's looking right now, Martin, Yeah, he is looking He is looking tough, and I wonder it just makes me laugh a little bit because last year we were talking about how Bobby Slowak was a trendy potential head coaching candidate, and it's like, I don't know, man.

Has he realized that his run game is.

A little bit better than the pass round It probably needs to stop dropping back as much. But yeah, it's it's a thing with cj and this Texans team, like, well, they really hit the ground running and saw so we saw like a new thing. I think the league has caught up to them a little bit. And it's not just cj Ins. I think Slowik as well as getting exposed to in terms of the play calling, because if you remember, Nico Collins was having an incredible year and then he got hurt and from that moment on, the Texans offense just really kind of fell off of a fell off of a cliff.

He's been back though for like what three weeks, four weeks, I'm not even sure he's.

Been back for a little bit, but that but that's what I'm saying.

I think it had more to do with Nico Collins just being on an all time heater as to why this Texans offense saw any success this season.

Right Kansas City.

I want to bring that them up because they won twenty nine to ten, a team that's fifteen to one that gets the least respect I've ever seen in my life, and I'm part of the problem. Also, let's start with the three Pete Martin, something that is obviously impossible to do. When they're trying to do the impossible, will they pass the Patriots as probably the best I don't know dynasty if they get the three pet Will they pass the Patriots as a better dynasty.

Than them or what?

I would put them ahead because the Patriots didn't have the consecutive That's the real to me, the dynasty is the consecutive back to back to back. And I know because we've never had the three pat in the NFL, we then like make I don't say make up, but we don't consider that the same way in the NBA, a three peat is a three pat right, It's like if you lose one of four, like, we just don't consider those dynasties in the same way, I think, because they ended up losing at some point in time, right, Like you know, the first.

Never won back to back championships in the NBA, they never won back to back. They won and then they lost and won and lost. They skipped every year.

Right.

So now obviously the Patriots had but they just had a they had two individual runs that were crazy, but there was a big lull in the.

Middle of that where there were no championship.

So I think if they do, if the Chiefs win the third Super Bowl, especially in a regular season in which they only lose one or two games, like yeah, because this team is not even supposed to be this good, Like when you look at it papers, like how is this happening?

But they just are. You can't deny it all, right.

What about Mahomes then, does he pass Brady as the best quarterback ever if he wins or has he already passed Brady is the best quarterback ever?

He hasn't passed Brady as the best quarterback ever to me when terms of the accolades, obviously his acolades are gonna be and I think Mahomess is more talented at quarterback than Tom Brady was when you just watch them play, right, When I watch Mahomes do things that I've never I feel like I never saw anybody do. I watched Tom Brady do a lot of things at an excellent level that other guys were doing. You see what it's like. There's a slight difference in between the two. Not to knock Brady at all.

Winning wise though, winning wise, and that's what we're going by because we're throwing Montana there. Winning wise, is it Mahomes or is it Brady? Or does Mahomes have to win this next super Bowl to make it three in a row?

I think if I don't have Mahomes ahead of Brady in terms of the winning and act like the resume stack yet, but if he gets to.

Three peat, I'm I'm yeah, I might have to do that.

Andy Reid over Belichick then, I mean, because look, you got to are not the same thing there?

Well, you got the three peat?

And also to Andy reads about the pass him in all time playoff and all time wins and playoff wins if he hasn't already, but you got the three peat going, and not to mention, what is it seven straight AFC championship games, like, and.

Tell me who's stopping the streak? Right?

That's the thing, Like, even if the Chiefs don't seem dominant, do you really believe that Buffalo or Baltimore or maybe they could Chargers.

They not believe it, but they could. It's Buffalo already beat them.

So no, I'm not saying that they can't.

But let's say we were doing this show the Saturday before the ANC Championship game. It's at Buffalo at Kansas City, and Kansas City is a two and a half point favorite.

Who's the stinking genius picking?

Oh, I'll probably pick Kansas City, but you put it under a field goal.

You know what I mean?

Though, Well, I'll tell you what. We're gonna get more into that. We're just often started on a busy Thursday. You want to be part of the show. All Right, good evening, everybody.

We're alive at the tyreck dot Com studios. Martin Weiss, Arnie Spanier in for Jason Smith and his best friend Mike Harmon on a busy Thursday night. Want to get right to our guests, So we go out to our NFL insider NFL Rider. It's our buddy, Jason Cole. Jason, did you have a good Christmas? My friend? How did things go?

I have fabulous Christmas? Oh wow? Other thing was great?

Good for you?

You know? Well the football was not that's competitive, yeah, but the but but the day was fine. How's that? We'll do what that means?

Let me ask you this as we start things off.

Is there too much football?

Now?

We got games on the Wednesday. On the Thursday, the Chiefs are playing three games in eleven.

What? Who are you? What kind of sacrilege is that? Is? Roger Roger Miguel is going to put a hit out And yes, it's I mean really too much football? Good god, No, it's it's it's it's interesting though what And this is me from a business perspective, wondering where this is going to be in another five to ten years with Netflix showing the games, and and as we move away from controlled by the classic networks on the NFL, where this is going to be in five to ten years, and how those companies are going to make peace with the government. But that's all kind of esoteric business stuff to me. And and I think about that only because the games weren't that the games weren't that impressive, right, Like, so your mind wanders to, okay, what it's what is sort of the bigger the bigger picture of all this. But if you want to just talk about football. But the NFL, the NFL right now can sell games any day of the week. They're certainly not afraid of lebron and the NBA on Christmas Day. That's that's not there. You know, they're not worried about that one at all. So they're just they're taking control of the day after day after day after day, and they're going to do it. And that means even if they have to make teams play three games in eleven days, less than two weeks on the Earth playoffs, which is kind of absurd, but you know, sheiefs it was really important. Now you're going to have Patrick homes with essentially went almost three weeks off. I assume they're not going to play him in the last game of the season. They don't need to. He's gonna get they're gonna have a first round by so he's gonna have almost three weeks off to get his body in shape for that for another Super Bowl run. So you can't draw it up any better for the Chiefs based on what's happened, but.

You probably could have run it up a lot better for the consumer on Christmas Day, and also watching this stinker of a game on right now.

Six to three Seahawks over the Bears.

This is now three kind of primetime window games in a row that the NFL has not put out the I'd say a good product. Is there any level of concern about that in the way that you know you're spreading out these games you're playing on non traditional football days like Wednesday, and then all of a sudden, go figure, you have a architect to scored two points.

Yeah, I don't know. You don't really have control over that, right, You just you make You certainly can't engineer game, right, so you do the best. You know, if you mapped it out before the season and you said you can't see Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Houston playing on Christmas Day, you have looked at them and said, that's exciting. That's if you looked at this back in when they do the schedule announcement back in with it, you may and then even at the beginning of the season. So it's unfortunate. That's that these are bad games tonight, is I mean, like Seattle just doesn't want to screw up the game, so they're not going to do any They're not going to take any chances because they're very confident that the Chicago can't score. Now, they're being too confident and hopeful that you know, to too close to the best in this game. But they're not, you know, they're not that good that they can afford to take a lot of chances, especially with the way that Gino's played this year with all the interceptions. So I just think this is a circumstance. So I don't I don't know what you can what you can do from a Oh, we've got to have competitive games on these days. I think the problem is that we're on days when you have only a couple of games, and those games go bad, you don't have It's not like a Sunday where you can fall back on three or four other games that are actually exciting.

Jason I was one of those knuckleets and said the Chiefs are the worst eleven and one team ever, the worst twelve and one team ever, the worst the.

Worst fifteen to what team ever is?

It could eventually come back and bite them in the backside with all these semi close games. I know the last one wasn't close, but we're waiting for somebody to win these you know, one possession games and you know, maybe knock them out of the playoffs. Buffalo is a good team, but Baltimore is a good team. I don't think it's that easy of a ride. Though they get the bye week and they are at home.

Well, last three games, they've been pretty dominant, haven't they. Yeah, I mean they were dominantn't and they were dominant on Saturday. Right, those aregainst quality football teams. I mean that they beat and I think that the Chiefs have got to a point. But let me let me break this into two parts. The idea of winning three straight championships is one of the most mentally daunting things that you can possibly imagine because getting up for games, like normal human beings don't understand the amount of adrenaline that you have to get to, you know, the level of adrenaline you have to get to the game for game day. To do that for one season, to win a Super Bowl is an amazing thing. To do that for two years is a stunning thing. Right to now be on year three and for people to say the quality of your wins is not good enough, like they're looking at this going you know, like, you know, what do you expect this to do? Backflips and win by forty every week? You know? I mean, I mean, like, really is Travis Kelcey is supposed to do? And granted there's some criticism Travis kelce for being too distracting the off season. There's some criticism of Patrick from a homes for and B and B Reid, you know, not airing it out, really letting it you know, trying to score a ton of points, all those things. But they know what it takes to win games. And yeah, they've been close. But last year everybody was criticizing them going into the playoffs because you look at their wide receivers, they are terrible and it's like they were just dropping passes most of the time. We're committing bad penalties. And they're a really good team. And they lost a five games during the radio season or six, and they went on and won their second straight title. I think this is a team that knows how to play from week to week and knows how to game plan and do enough. And what you're seeing in the last three games these last eleven days, it's a really impressive run to beat Pittsburgh, Houston and really to dominate Cleveland at Cleveland. You know, Cleveland's defense is playing well and they brought it to try and get that upset. The other thing in this is this playing the Chiefs right now is everybody's super Bowl, and it really is everybody's bringing the best that they got to try and beat these guys, and they're stillwithstanding at all. So when I hear this stuff like oh, they're the worst eleven and two one or twelven, like these are winning games in the NFL. Yeah, And it's just it's just it's not easy to do. But they're peaking at the right time. And this is I think we're watching, you know, we're maybe watching history play out with you know, a third straight Super Bowl team and Mahomes cementing it like he's truly the best quarterback in the league. You forget who the MVP is. I don't care if it's Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson. But every time I'm trying to win a game, I'm picking Patrick Mahomes first until somebody else knocks them off.

Jason Cole, NFL Rider here with us, Harney Spanner, Martin Wise here for Jason Smith on the Jasah Smith Show. Now, you talked about his hard to win games the NFL. I agree, this guy has done a lot of it. But he's also done a lot of arguing with everybody from his own team other teams. We saw Sirianni and zach Ertz needing to be separated, reportedly by Don Desandro, and my question initially was, is do we think Sirianni's like energy or attitude, whatever you want to call it, his antagonistic behavior is going to end up costing the Eagles. And then I looked at it and look further into box scores, like didn't cost him. Here they had ten penalties and CJ. Gardner Johnson got ejected in the game. It's like team kind of following the coach there.

I feel like, yeah, but this works for him. Like they're jerkballs and they're kind of like the perfect representation of Philadelphia, but it works for him. Like this, when everybody was talking about Sirianni kind of having to get it under control last year, it went sideways, right, Yeah, and it wasn't him and he was I think he was trying to please too many people when he came back and said like, I'm gonna be me, And yeah, they played better. They play with an attitude, they play with you know, a certain amount of snarl, and yeah they're punks and you want to you know, you want to kick their rear all over the field, Well go do it, right, and it's it's hard to do because they're good. So I think that, yeah, ultimately is it. It's like anything the thing that makes you great oftentimes is the thing that also underminds you, like Antonio Brown having a chip on his shoulder for his entire career. It's the thing that drove him. It's the mania that drove him to be as great as he was world those years in Pittsburgh. It's also the thing that drove him over the top because to not to get to the point where Pittsford couldn't handle it anymore and the Raiders couldn't handle him. And then he implodes in in New England, and he implodes in Tampa right like, yeah, that you're you're playing on a very stin line. So as Sirianni ultimately, I mean, can you sit there and say that Nick Serryan is going to laught for the next ten years. I'll bet a lot of money get that. But all you're worried about is today, you know, all you're worried about is, you know, take advantage of the window that you have today with this team. And I think that they have to play with that kind of edge, like their their best when they're playing with that kind of edge, no.

Doubt about that. He's Jason call joins us every Thursday. The guys will be back next Thursday, So there're enough vacation for those two. You know what I mean, They they've had enough.

Jason.

They take they take too much time off as it is.

You know, I mean Smith barely work like I mean, what is this?

Like?

I do three weeks of radio and I get six weeks off or something like that. How does this happen? In this?

He's like a fireman, you know, we work two days and we'll get three off or something like that.

Complete complete diva. He's a concrete and total diva. It's unbelievable. Nice contract you got.

I love it, Jay saiding we always appreciate it, my friend. Thank you so very much. You have a good New Year's and the guys will speak to you next week.

I guess. Take care, good.

Care, Jason Cole, everybody. You could check them out on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two, NFL Rider, NFL Insider. All right, before we do anything else, we'll check in with our buddy Martin Weiss see what's trending on this busy Thursday night.

And we do have a lot of stuff going on. What's happening out there, Martin?

They had two games going on in the NBA right now, nearing the end of the first quarter for both of them. Jazz and the Trailblazers tied twenty three apiece right now. Sixteen wins combined between these two teams up not necessarily the NBA's best and bright just out there. Piston's and the Kings with fifty seconds up in the first quarter, Sacramento with a thirty four to thirty two point lead. Kyunningham already has twelve points. Earlier today we saw the thunder Key pace. They beat the Pacers one twenty to one fourteen Shay Gilders, Alexander forty five point seven rebounds, eight assists, have a day. The Miami Heat come from behind beat the Orland No Magic eighty nine to eighty eight. Jalen Suggs had twenty nine points, Heimi Hotkas fifteen points, five steals. Wizards beat the Hornets on a last second Jordan Pools shot one thirteen to one ten. Hawks over the Bulls one forty one to one, thirty three Jalen Johnson thirty points, fifteen rebounds. The Grizzly scored one hundred and fifty five, putting away the Raptors one fifty five to won twenty six. Jaron Jackson with a double double twenty one points, eleven rebounds, Nets beat the Bucks won eleven to one oh five. Brooklyn Falls proved sorry to ten and seven on the road. Cam Johnson with twenty nine points and the Rockets beat The Pelicans won twenty eight to one eleven. Jalen Green had thirty Pelicans have only won five games on the year. It's been a low scoring affair in Sunday. I'm sorry what see? What day is it? Arnie Hudos?

No Thursday?

Oh I almost called it Sunday night football.

That's fine.

Is Thursday, Monday, Sunday? Whatever? You know what I know? This game it stinks.

How about that the Seahawks with a six to three lead over the Bears. It's been a punt fest thus far. We've seen you four punts in this game. Geno Smith seventeen for twenty three hundred and sixty yards, passing no touchdowns. Caleb Williams twelve for twenty ninety two yards through the air. DeAndre Swift lead in Chicago and rushing with forty one yards. Ak Sharburney the same for Seattle with fifty seven yards not a big offen to day, bad weather out there. Gino Smith's fumbled twice. Kayleb Williams were covered of fumble for center bad centers in snap exchange.

So it's been a real sloppy game.

As the Bears are going to start back here with five twelve left in the first quarterly first down Chicago. The Cowboys shut down CD Lamb for the rest of the season due to his shoulder injury. Teddy Bridgewater, fresh off of winning a high school championship as a coach, will be returning to the Detroit Lions. He's coming out of retirement. DeShawn Jackson has near a deal to coach Delaware State University and in the sixty eight Ventures Bowl, Arkansas State has a twenty four to twenty.

One lead over Bowling Green. Arnie back to you and me.

All right, thank you very much. Martin Live at tyraq dot com Studios. That's Martin Wisse and Arnie Spanier in for the guy tonight. Jason Smith and his best friend Mike Harmon on this Thursday night. You know, when we were talking to Jason Cole what I mean about too much football? I mean three games in eleven days that's too much. It's not that I care if we have it on a Wednesday or a Thursday or a Tuesday, but having these teams play so many games in a short period of time, especially right before the playoffs. You know, Jason's like, well, it's all about money and stuff like that. Well, what's gonna be if what happens, If Patrick Mahomes goes down, gets hurt because he played in a short period of time, then people are gonna be screaming bloody murder. If a big time name goes down. That's a lot of games in a short period there, Martin, You know, yeah, it is.

It is.

But I think that, well, here's the thing that to benefit for the NFL, you really just had to get through this year. Next year, Christmas will be on a Thursday. That's a standard day we're used to football. Yeah, but that doesn't solve the problem. Sooner or later it's going to be on a Tuesday. But yeah, it'll be what's six years from now, right, But I think that's I think really that was the biggest thing to get through. I do not necessarily care for football on Christmas.

I didn't think the games were good. I don't think I need the games like that.

I don't think we've seen have we seen a good Christmas Day game yet? I know Alvin Kamara had five touchdowns on Christmas, but that was a route.

If you asked the NFL, they're all good games because they brought up ratings of what twenty four point three or twenty four million? Can you believe that?

I didn't think it was gonna be close to that many.

That's insane that that many people watch the game.

Damn man. I mean, I had a feeling.

But you know what, also too, I wonder about these Netflix sometimes, these Netflix streaming numbers that are not reported in the same exact way that you know that that we're used to seeing traditional Nielsen reporting done. So I'm not debating that a ton of people watch the game, right obviously.

Well, I'll tell you what.

I'll tell you what I want to do. I want to get into those Netflix numbers. I want to get into the whole Beyonce thing. I want to get in the tweets. I want to get into the tweets that people are sending you about advice about getting married. And you can do that at Martin Weiss.

I'm a stinking genius one.

We're gonna get to all that coming up next right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific.

All right, good evening, everybody.

Why From the tyreck dot Com Studios, Martin Weiss, Arnie Spanier in for the guy's side, Jason Smith and his best friend, Mike Harmon. Martin got engaged. So we'd love to take your advice on what we should tell Martin about getting married. You can send it to us on Twitter at Martin Weiss. I'm instinking genius one. Like Scott said, being married is like being in a hot bath. After in it a while, it's no longer so hot.

Oh.

I shouldn't have read that one, Martin. Don't let that changer mind.

Martin.

Don't don't let that changer miid okay?

By late now.

Now, Marvin said, congrats on the engagement. All the best to you and the missus. Just don't listen to Arnie's advice. I'm the advice you want to listen to. I told you that I didn't propose to my wife. My wife I was we got she asked me to get married. I told you that my buddy, Keg, my fraternity brother Keg, got married. We still call him Keg got married. He's telling me that, uh, you know, when he was single, he had plenty of money, but now that they got married and they both had jobs, they had trouble balancing their checkbook, so they were going to go back to separated bank accounts. And I told my wife this, I, oh, gosh, we're more married than they are. And she goes speaking about being married. When are we getting married? Because my wife is you know, from Mi Homer Simpson's uh so, she's, you know, Marge Simpson's sister. I said, I said, well, how about a year from now?

I goes, I don't think so.

At first, I said three years, and she goes, I don't think so. One year and I said sure, Like I like she's going to go through with it. I'm like, yeah, okay, okay, like she's really going to go through with it.

I dare you?

I dare you?

So I just said yes to appease her, and I was sure enough. A year later we got married. So I'm like, there's no way she's going to go through with it. There's no way and she can't be, she can't be going through with it, and yeah, we went through with it. So here we are twenty nine years later, Martin and uh, still waiting for her to back out.

Sounds like sounds like true love.

Aren't true true love out there?

That's great, that's hilarious.

If you want to give Martin someone should get married, uh, the best place to get married, all that stuff, or any marital advice at Martin. Wise, I'm a stinking genius one. What did you think of the whole Netflix thing? I heard people complaining about the streaming yard Monsey complaining about that. To me, the picture was great, it was sharp, the sound was great, great sound quality. I had no pride, didn't have any laggers any I had no problems whatsoever.

I thought it was an A plus effort by Netflix.

It was good. I think I think your.

Your experience is gonna be basically depends on how well, how good your internet is right and how many people. I don't know where Monsie was watching the game, and I'm not trying to, you know, be smirched her internet. I'm sure she's got the finest of the finest, but maybe she had a million people over and I think she was.

At the station.

I think she was at at the station at the time, but I don't know.

Oh well, yeah, the internet here stinks, so that makes sense.

That makes sense. It drops off all the time.

So I don't know if a lot of people had that problem. What did you think of the halftime entertainment? Were you okay with that or what?

I was fine with it the first time I watched it.

I was also held hostage by the rest of the house to then watch it four times. So after the first time, I was like, I got it, guys, I got it, you know, but the game was so terrible.

I couldn't really argue and say, well, you know, we gotta go back to the game. It was like, no, the game's stunk.

So she brought it an extra couple of million. I think twenty fourth point three million watched the game. Twenty six point something million watched Beyonce at halftime. So I remember people criticizing her. Didn't like the song, choice, didn't like the way she did it, didn't like the costumes. I thought it was okay. I mean, it didn't bother me at all, but I'm not the demographic she was after I'm sure you know.

Yeah, I mean I was fine with it, you know, But also too, I always assume, like my halftime is not about Beyonce or anything.

That's when you go get some food.

That's when you go to the bathroom, right right, right, that's my plans during halftime. So I almost don't like you when I have something at halftime because now I feel like I'm missing something, and now I'd rather miss that than the game. That's the whole point. I need to take a break and what halftime's about exactly.

And I know Jason cole insinuated this, how long until I tell you Martin?

Super Bowls coming up?

And it's totally ninety nine dollars this year. That's such a bargain. How long is it until we have to start paying to watch the Super Bowl? I'm going to be sick about it, but it might be soon. Look, I've been saying it for a while, Chris Pike's been arguing me about I'll say, look.

If they put the AFC, if they put Patrick Mahomes on Peacock, Like I remember it, it was Rob Parker's sixtieth birthday party that day. We were in Vegas, and I was watching the pregame show on TV, and then I was almost shocked when the TV chased the local news and I had to pull it up on my phone.

It's like, they really didn't put this on TV.

That's crazy, And as soon it will be in the Super Bowl.

Look, I were one of the books. We just flew on by. Let's sit back, take a deep breath. We'll come on back.

We'll get to some college football.

We'll talk about the ball games, the playoff. Matt Verdere I'm gonna join us at twenty past the hour. Busy hour coming up. Stick around right here on Fox Sports Radio.
