I really thought you did. Like the way you were biting your nails, like, oh you bet on this, you bet on this right here?
I did it. I just I could not believe what I was watching. I could not believe what I was watching. And it's always exciting to be next to someone who is so excited about it, like I just you know, I was vibing with you.

For the second game in a row, the Knicks get down twenty points in the third quarter, it looks over. For the second game in a row, the Knicks come back and win late ninety one ninety the second time the Celtics had a chance for a game time or game winning shot and mccal bridges took the ball away. Game one, it was Jalen Brown. Game two, it was Jason Tatum who dribbled in trouble and tried to pass out. Bridges picked it off. And I want to say this, Mike Carmen number one. I gotta say this, because I got it. I have to say this. I need to apologize. I need to say I was sorry because I wanted to give mcal bridges away for nothing a week and a half ago. They're gonna have to make moves at the end of the season. We can't beat anybody who's good. Bridges is a guy, he's not good. Being the third or fourth option, I will drive him to the air. Going into the series, I'm thinking, okay, if we can get Giannis, Bridges will be the centerpiece of that trade. Maybe Mitchell Robinson. Now no, no, no, I'll give five more first round picks. You want five, But just because I'm a nice guy and I want you to feel that I'm grateful, I'll give five more first round picks for m Cael Bridges.
Yeah, six months of slander. I don't know that that's gonna be enough to cover debt. No no, no, nor the car macdebt is much larger than how many more picks? No no, no, no no. They're like, you got to figure out what his favorite charity is, what kind of styling he does. Maybe you send him a nice watch. I don't know. Sure, because you know, as Moncey laid it out. You know, it's it's the best and worst things. And I've said this for the eleven years we've been working together. There are moments where it's like, boy, I really I'm jealous that he has that level of fandom. Now, you watched me in the studio last night after my drafts Uh, pop fly hit off his glove and hew ahead. Uh And what that was for me, White Sox Baseball. You watched a little bit more of my soul leave. Now it's like horcruxes. There's pieces all over those Fox Sports radio studios and in stadium uh and you know, multiplexes across the globe. Uh and and but for you, like there, you ride that lightning to where you want to fire everybody and cut them and give them away. Watching you watch games is kind of like the scenes in Harry Potter when the Dementors show up and they just start sucking the soul out of and that's the dementor's kiss and they're just standing there's nothing they can do. And you see the so you actually see the soul leaving the body. Like hear that phrase, I watched his soul leave his body. Now, that's kind of what it is watching watching you the soul leaving the body me. I'm all full patronis. Yeah, my patronas is mccal bridges. Now look at this.

Think about this and now I need to I wanted mcal bridges. I thought he's not worth it five first round picks. He's gonna be the centerpiece of a trade in the offseason because clearly it's not a great fit and he's not been great alsie for a guy as talented as he is. Yeah, Brunson gets all the shots. Anything get left over. It's Karl Anthony Towns and nobody's a Big three and d player Heart's gonna get his how is Bridges gonna slide in here? And it's been a tough adjustment, but you know, he started out bad, but he hit some shots in the second half helped the comeback. And I mean two games in a row where he makes a defensive play to save the game at the end. The first time he just rips it away from Jalen Brown. This one, I mean the defensive play he makes because he gets Tatum in trouble and knows that Tatum's going to try to get rid of the ball. And the fact that he's able to leap to the left and get his hand in front when he knows Tatum's going to try to dishes because he has no shot Like that's incredible anticipation by him.
Is two games in a row he has saved the last play there. I don't care what happened before. Now again, five more picks. I'll give you five more picks, and I'll pay Otani salary when it's due in like eight years.
That's that's how happy I That's how happy I am right now. I'll bet when you go him forty million a year. I'll pay the first couple of years of that.
That just tells me a couple of things. Number One, I am grossly underpaid. If you're talking you can pay Otani money so well.
Because I bet every visiting team to win every game in the second round of the playoffs and I'm up like fifteen million dollars right now, So I'm feeling good.
Yeah. No, if you if you bet enough, you want to talk about the parlay from hell for although it looks like, barring something really strange, that streak is gonna end. But we'll get to that in a minute. But you know, watching this fourth quarter once again, and and it's the Celtics learning nothing from last time out. You look at your two stars that you're anticipating, and we talked about it yesterday. People can find the podcast about close out guys and close out decision making. And once again, for Tatum and Brown, they they go one for nine in the fourth quarter. The only shot made was Tatum on that break breakthrough dunk that they more or less allayed the defense out it. Brown was circling back towards the three point arc on the final play. A great double team because he had what was it. Robinson was on one side, and then you've got Bridges playing the passing lane like there was nothing that Jason Tatum was going to be able to do with the ball. He goes up for the shot, I probably getting blocked by Robinson. So it's it's game time. Exec Custian three point barrages. What are we at twenty four point some odd percent through the first two games of the series, and once again, you just go through it. You've got two and a half quarters of well executed balanced basketball inside outside and taking care of you know, your mid range jumpers. And then in the fourth quarter, now, forget it, let's just abandon this. Forget about the fact that we own this squad in the regular season, forget about all of these things. And for Bridges right, zero points going into the fourth and all of a sudden, he looked like he was on playing at turbo speed. You know the video games where suddenly you get to be three times as fast as the rest of the action around you. That's what it looked like. He was a man possessed. He also could have shot them right back out of the game and things had gone badley, but six of ten from the field energy, defensive play, and Jalen Brunson was quiet again until he needed to be and comes up with the big shot to put them ahead with two minutes left. So you're watching this as we do the analysis all the time, and this goes back to our friends up in the Bay Area and everything else, like, well, you got championship document, right, You've got history, you've got guys with playoff experience. None of that has mattered for the Celtics.
Well look, and I'll tell you here's the thing is, I disagree with you on the Celtics because it's not like they played great tonight. That's what people are forgeting. It's not Hey, the Celtics had these twenty point leads and they played great. They played crappy in Game one. The Knicks just played worse. Right, They still shot fifteen for sixty from three point range this game. They didn't play great, right, Tatum had an awful game, They played okay.
Yeah, but you're still up twenty right right. No, I'm not saying you're playing no, but you should be able to finish the job.
But it's not like, but if you were playing great and up twenty, you're not giving that lead away. You were playing just okay up twenty so you give you let the other team hang around enough. Like I don't think the Celtics have to look at these first two games they played anywhere close to how they played. They almost look like they're sleepwalking through the game, like, Hey, we know we beat them bad during the regular season. We know where the champs whatever mentally wherever mentally they are right now, they're in a bad spot because even in big moments of these games, they don't look like that they have that hunger. They just don't have that look that these are the champs and if you're gonna take it from you gotta pry it from their cold dead hands. This was, Hey, we're playing we're not playing well, but the Knicks are playing worse. Let's just keep going the game, keep the game going like this, we'll come up with a victory and then we'll try to get back to New York and take control of the series.
Again. They didn't play well.
And so the Knicks come back and it looks like they're playing amazing in the last play, but the Celtics just they hadn't played well.
The Knicks just played way worse. They couldn't.
They couldn't have any kind of flow on offense. Brunson took a long time to get going, and nobody on the Celtics could take the lead and say, hey, this is a game where Jalen Brown's gonna score thirty five, or this is a game where Hey White hits a bunch of shots and egos for thirty Like there's been none of that the first two games. Like I watch the Celtics and I go, are they even live? Are they really? Are they even alive in this game? Because they're just going through the motions these first couple of games.
Yeah, but through three quarters they still owned you. Yea, so we because.
Dick's played bad.
And then the next we're gonna play We're gonna play great, And the Celtics couldn't. There there's no raising They didn't raise their level at all, you know, like the Celtics. There was no hey, we're stepping things up now, we know we're going for the killer instinct here. There was none of that the last two games.
None of it.
Well, if you're gonna keep rotating out to bad three point shots, selection hurried possessions, once things start getting a little tight, I mean, you want to talk about world class puckering, man, that's that. That and I'd love to do a montage anybody that's really creative in the graphics world. If you want to just do some shots of Celtics fans you talk about my soul leaving my body. And it's not to say that the Celticks were playing good basketball, going owing back to what we were talking about a few minutes ago, it's the you were playing that much worse.

But now that it's been done twice, I mean, now you they are who you thought they are in terms of the Celtics and closing games out. Uh and now you know, Bridges is there. We we talked about the we talked about the Celtics a few minutes ago and how they just look like they're sleepwalking through this series. But you know who, all of a sudden his leg. I mean, they won the championship a year ago. But still it was, well, Tatum wasn't the MVP, and yeah, Tatum supposed to be in that, like it was still at arm's length, kind of like people kind of felt about Tatum the way fans felt about the Lakers when they won in twenty twenty, Like, yeah, they won, but it was COVID and it was on a neutral floor, which honestly is more difficult because you played agat home court advantage and all of a sudden, that big advantage was gone for the Lakers. But it's still that's kind of how it went. And for Tatum, it was yeah, they won, but yeah, maybe all time great. You still tell that he still had stuff to do and these last two games when he couldn't hit a shot and he gets the you know, he goes in for a final shot down. Look, he had the big dunk that gave him the lead with fifteen seconds left, which the Knicks didn't see coming. It was a great decision by him. They had to pick set and he's able to get right to the hoop and they think, okay, we're taking the shot clock down. No great decision by him. But then at the end he dribbles into trouble, doesn't know where to go, and this is too really bad games. And if the Celtics go out here all of a sudden for Tatum, it's gonna be like last year didn't happen, Like, yeah, every won the finals yest year, No, it didn't happen. You lost to the Knicks. You lost to the Knicks, and you were terrible. And I'm telling you that right now. We're even we're starting over it. What do you mean starting on we won the title last year? No, we're starting over you and me right here from zero, Like, no, you you were so bad in these playoffs and we lost to the bleep and Knicks, who we beat by fifty every time you played them during the regular season. No, No, that's what's gonna happen, the Jason Tatum legacy. You're just watching it spin and spin and go really slow and kind of go down the drink. You all here watching when you drop your someone drops their wedding ring into a real small where it goes down the sick. No there, that's what's happening in Jason Tatum right now. His legacy and the the optic of him throughout the league takes such a big hit. If they lose a series again, it'll be like they didn't even win last year.
Oh for him, it became that you weren't the MVP. You had other players that got their shine right, whether it was Derek White and his heroics in a couple of those games, Jalen Brown certainly seemed to be the guy that was the more assertive and aggressive of wanting that mantle. But here you're trying to go back to Tatum, and it begets that other conversation that we've had about the NBA, and certainly we hit it the last couple of nights with the way games have closed out, is do you have that guy that you trust that you can just say, like, for better or for us, I'm putting the ball in his hands. I don't know if the Celtics have that guy right now? Bit a hot potato, right, you have the state think the.
Thing is they have guys that can make shots, but Tatum's clearly the guy. And it's so it's so crazy because he's the guy that can get his own shot more so than anybody else in the game because of the way he handles the ball and his size, Like I can get my own shot anytime, even more than Brunton, who finds a way to get but like Tatum's like one on one, he's almost unstoppable because I'm going to get my shot. I'm gonna get a mid range jumper, I'm gonna get through. I'm gonna figure something out. But when the nick through the other defender out of it, it's like, I don't know what to do. I don't know where There was no other play. There was nowhere else to go with the ball. There was Jalen Brown, anybody else white. There was nowhere to go, and he gets it taken away.
But I'm speaking to the whole fourth quarter though, right in terms of we got to slow this down because it's starting to look like a repeat of Game one. And it was right, fifteen of sixty last time out ten to forty. They took fewer three point shots. So congratulations, is there still a nice even the math is easy, right, twenty five out of one hundred, let's go percentages for the win? But just the we can calm this down and stem the tide right now, they're lacking that. One is living and dying by the three point shot. The other is the indecisiveness when that second man comes. Just as you alluded to there in that final possession, but all throughout the fourth quarter it was just bad possession, hurried possessions, shot, clock running down. Just fire it up, uh and then hope for long rebounds. Then that's wishing and hoping. That's not a strategy.

I mean, pretty incredible what the Knicks have done in back to back games, being down twenty points, coming out on top today ninety one to ninety Jalen Bruns and mister clutch for a reason hitting the go ahead shot late in the fourth quarter, ended with seventeen points and seven assists, Karl Anthony Towns twenty one points, seventeen rebounds, Josh Hart twenty three points, six rebounds.
A total team effort.
Aside from Mitchell Robinson's free throws that was not good. Jason Tatum was five and nineteen free throw What that was when the Knicks run.
Started right after that, It's sure horrible free throws.
Watched out badly.
It was eighty four seventy and then the Knicks, and the Knicks outscored him twenty four, twenty four to six.
The rest of the world is just so flat, it's just so fair.
It was not a lot of up to eat that moment of though, you know, yeah, let's break the tension.

Late in the second quarter and the NHL, the Maple Leaves defeated the Panthers four to three. They now lead the series to zero. Right now, after one period, the Stars and the Jets are scoreless. In Major League Baseball, the Tigers and the Rockies are tied at six apiece bottom of the sixth inning, Blue Jays and Angels are scoreless top of the fourth inning, and the Yankees just walked it off against the Padres four three and ten innings thanks to a sack fly from j c Escara pinch hitting. This guy's first year in Major League Baseball, played eight years minor league, worked odd jobs driver as an uber substitute teaching, literally gets called up hits a walk off his first one, very emotional talking to John Paul Morosi after the game. There is also a no hitter that Cody Bellinger broke up. Dylan seze Is no hitter through seven innings, but Cody Bellinger hit that, so the Yankees win it. Twins outscored the Orioles five to two, while the Royals edged the White Sox two to one and the Reds top the Braves four to three. Billy shut out the Raise seven zero. Red Sox took down the Ranger sixty four. Alex Bregman with his two hundredth career homer in the Dodgers crushed the Marlins ten to one, and of course, Swan Soto homer twice as the Mets outscored the Diamondbacks seven one.
If you're blue an orange, today is your day. Your dad is your day exactly so harm So I'm coming. So I parked the car and it's eighty six eighty two. I'm like, okay, eighty six. At this point it's eighty six eighty two. I'm like, okay, I'm gonna run togein. I parked the car in the parking garage, I lock up. And here's the thing before we get to Steph Curry, is that the Knicks identity up until this year was what with Tibbs was defense, right, and they're always going to play great defense. And they realized, Okay, by making this trade for Karl Anthony Towns bringing mcal Bridges, it's gonna be a little bit and when you get to the playoffs, I said, okay, this this team has just been terrible defensively during the see other team shooting fifty to fifty five percent without too much of a of difficulty. But the Knicks go back to, hey, we'll give you that situational defense in the fourth quarter, when all of a sudden, it looks like we are, you know, the Amiba defense, or we are just giving you forty minutes a hell it suddenly, when you can do that in the fourth quarter, it looks it looks so much more impressive and so much of a bigger deal because you go from, hey, we're playing defense at this one level the first three quarters. Now we're giving the situational d that we can still pull off because we have great individual defensive players in Bridges and Anunobi. So yeah, good luck when we start to really turn it up in the fourth quarter and the Knicks are playing that situational fourth quarter defense.

Yeah, we had a good laugh at the expense of Robinson with his free throw right the miss. That really is the most exciting random ISO play that you could possibly have going. But look, the big injury today in the NBA, the real is gonna affect the rest of the playoffs. Steph Curry going to miss about a week with his hamstring injury. You know, we talked about this last night and said, look, best case scenario for him probably game four, maybe a little bit later. And I know that that what this, what the Warriors are doing right now is the smart thing. He's gonna be out a week. We're not gonna do this every single day. How is Steph today? How's the treatment? Can he play in game game two? Can he play in Game three? Can he play in Game four? He wants them to know, Hey, we're not gonna have him now. We're gonna adjust the next couple of games. Right, Steph will come back at some point, but he's going to adjust. We said last night Game four, Game four seems like it's a little bit maybe on the on the early edge. But I'll tell you what, for a guy that's never really had injury issues throughout his career, he's never really had hamstring injury like this before. He's not prone to it. I would be really surprised if he doesn't come back for Game four on the game Game four, because Game four is where you really might be in a rubber hits the Road type situation, because let's just say, suddenly, Okay, the Taguls get it back, they even the series, they take Game three, you need Game four if you're gonna keep this thing going. So I like, Steph Curry's got to be missing a leg to not come back for Game four and play at home in this game that could wind up being the game, the game that helps push them into a three to one series advantage themselves. Like Game four is such a huge one, and I really I know he's hurt, and I know he's dinged up, but he almost has a week before Game four. I would be stunned if he's not back for that game.
Yeah, I mean we've had a couple of isolated things through his career. I mean, certainly from where he's started in all the draft evaluations in that first year of wondering what you can be with his ankles being the thing we were watching all the time, it's been an incredible run of durability. In this case, they bought themselves time, Right, So we're not evaluating for a week. Well, that's what we're gonna tell you. But every day he's getting treatment, where is he on the continue We're just not making it a public spectacle. And Steve Kerr, fortunately you've been able to unleash Buddy Healed the last couple of games and all of a sudden, he's that guy that you wanted and so many teams fought for in the trade markets. Right, you want to talk about the most evaluated trade analyzing a bit in those programs, Buddy Heald's name probably was the most searched all the last couple of years. But yeah, you buy yourself time. See if you can't steal another one before you've got to force him back into action because you know he's gonna want to play earlier, so you want to make sure you're not, you know, forcing yourself into a foolish decision to be smart with it, but putting out the notice of it reevaluated a week, it gets everybody to leave it alone, like, all right, let's go evaluate the team over here and you can go work in a vacuum.
Yeah, and that's why I said they want to get past this storyline. For being an everyday thing for the next five or six day and they did that. Now, the flip side of this is if the Tea Wolves still lose this series, Steph Curry is out and they still wind up losing. I don't know that it gets more embarrassing in a playoff than this. You come in after beating the Lakers and Lebron and Luca, and you're thumping your chest and feeling great, and all of a sudden you lose to a team that is not built to withstand the loss of their star.
There's certain teams.
That, hey, if we lose a guy for a little bit, this team is not built to withstand the loss of their star. And you turn Buddy Healed into a latter day version of Scottie Pippen in Game one and you allowed Jimmy Butler to getting the way Back Machine. Hams still gonna give you a twenty ten and eight kind of night like this would. I don't know that there's a more embarrassing loss you could have here the Timberwolves. Then you lose this series if they're playing the majority of the rest of it without Steph Curry.

Brady did not give his opinion at all about your door Sanders. They never even asked him. No one was ever there.
