Meanwhile, the Lakers and the Thunder one oh seven to one oh five, Thunder with the lead eight and a half to go in the fourth quarter, So I feel like, oh, maybe we're watching the East and Western Conference finals. Just a little bitter. I mean that Lakers Thunder game was eighty to seventy two at halftime. Yeah, yeah, not a lot of defense. With the exception of like a minute stretch where there were three straight Alex Caruso steals.
There wasn't a whole lot of defense.
And then you watch og Ananobi uh lose Jason Tatum for the high arching three that sends in a o t But good news, you're six and one.
On the year in overtime.
Yeah, yeah, except what's our record we play the Celtics thunder. Yeah, it's it's not good. I've tried to give you a positive lob right there. Come on, man, we'll deal with the Knicks and the Celtics first. Obviously, the Knicks need this win. They would love a win like this going into the playoffs. When he can beat one of the top teams and not go over the whole season against.

The Knicks had a three point lead and the Celtics had the ball with about ten seconds left to go, and the only thing what was I yelling at the screen, no threes, no threes, no threes, no threes, and Jason Tatum kind of hesitates behind the arc, and Andrew Nobi is on him. Okay, great, and then what happens. Tatum makes this little bit of a fake like he's gonna go to the basket. Dude, let him go to the basket. There's four seconds left, but Andunoby falls for the fake, Tatum hits a three. The Knicks have a desperation three at the buzzer that doesn't get anywhere. And so now we're in overtime. I mean, I mean watch, I'm yelling no threes, no threes, no threes. And what happens. Antnobe just allows Tatum to give him that little bit of a head fake and wide open three step back, and so we're in overtime. I'm like, this gotta be hitting me. You know, the next time you beat a good team will be the first. It'll be the first. Yah, it'll be the first. That's why tonight is such a big deal. That's right, But I mean I can't even give the nationwide audience what you were saying and the Josh Hart layup, because.

He's back right, he had his time away. It's awesome a win like this. Suddenly, Hey, maybe we're not going to be second round enough because the second round is going to be the Celtics. Like that's the thing. Second round is to say, you realize, oh you go no, No, second round is the Celtics. So I mean, unless you know, hey, the Magic pull a big upset, it's the Cavaliers, which I don't think is that. Hey you know, but you know, look it's second round. Is hey, we're second rounding out again the NBA, and everybody's just saying, like, hey, the Cavaliers don't have the experience I mean anything, And judging by what happened today, maybe if the Knicks lose this game, the only way we can raise the stakes from hey, look at these coaches getting fired at the end of the season. I mean, what if the Knicks lose this game and the Knicks fired and replace him with Danny Hurley, Like that's the only thing that could that could upset the Apple card enough to take the headline away from the Nuggets firing Michael Malone. Today the Knicks say, sorry, tips, Jason, Mike, it's Mike. Danny Hurley come in and coach. That's Mike Malone. I know he likes to go buy Michael and he's fired, So I will alone every time tonight. No, but it's he goes by Michael and he's fired.

Come on, man, that's the only thing you can do. How do we top? Okay, Taylor Jenkins gets fired? Okay, all right, well that was weird. Okay, Michael Malone gets fired, and Mike like, hey, that's weird. No, you fire Tims and bring in Danny Hurley. That's the only thing. Meanwhile, the other game, obviously in the Western Western Conference Finals, Lakers trail the Thunder one oh seven, one o six. Still lot of time left in this game. There's seven to fifty six left to go in the fourth quarter. It's been a big game for the Lakers Big three. Right we have twenty one five and three from Luca, twenty six for Lebron nineteen and five for Austin Reeves for the Thunder, No surprise, Jay Gildess, Alexander thirty two points leading the way, chet Holmgren having a big game. He's got fourteen and four. But if this doesn't show you what we talked about for them, remember what we say ahead of the curve, right, what do we say two weeks ago? Right? The Lakers are just bored. The Lakers got Luka Doncic, they played incredible basketball for a month, and then they sat around and said, yeah, we're good. When's the playoffs? And they lost some games to teams they should never lose to it. We said, they're bored, They're board, They're bored. And then they had a big loss. And what did Luca come on postgame and say, I think we need a little bit more intensity, a little bit more energy. They're bored, they're waiting for the playoffs. And what do we see the other night they have the big win over Oklahoma City.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Lakers clicking on all silk. This is the team we're gonna see tonight. Here they are. They decide we are going to make all our guys probable. Everybody was questionable for the night's game because you know, you got the Mavericks, the big Luca Mavericks game coming up tomorrow. He was, Ah, maybe we're not going to see some of these guys. The Lakers prove their point. They're going on the road. No, everybody but Ruey Hotchimore is playing for the Lakers tonight. They're going for it tonight with a win, to try to win this game, to really send a message for the Thunder and the playoffs. Yeah, the Lakers are win or lose this game. The Lakers are just fine. Conversely, they may have gotten a notice from the league office their asses better be playing tonight. Yeah, it's final week of the season. We're not doing load management here. But you guys just saw him up sudden. Tomorrow's a pretty big tomorrow. But look, just get him back. The Lakers were bored. Just see how they're playing in these games the last couple of nights, and you know, okay, when the playoffs come, they're a title contender. The Lakers were bored and now they're not. It's the way, and I'm not This is not just a Lakers thing. This is an NBA thing because it's Hey, once you get to game fifty five or sixty, what do I tell you? Most of the regular season is useless because once you get to game sixty, the teams that stink stink. We're tanking. No one's wrote, No one's gonna go for it to get in the playing round. They're gonna kind of, well, we're gonna play this string out a little bit and see how things go. No one's gonna say, hey, all we can do to get into that seven ten, No, they're not doing it. So the last twenty some odd games of the season, yeah, they're kind of useless, and you get teams going through the motions. Now, you get your big games once in a while like this, Hey, look the Lakers are up for it, the thunder are up for it, and it's an awesome night right tonight. It feels like it like these are playoff games. What we just did, Jason, Well, we'll get to that in a second. We'll get to that in a second. This is this is the nights that Okay, in the back half of the regular season, the last twenty games, this is what we live for. So some of these other games, yeah, I understand where Yeah, we're just going through the motions and there's forty point blowouts, thirty five point blots. Why is this team's put it away? This team is eight. They don't care. The playing round is a playing round. That's kind of how the NBA goes right. Everybody gets bored. The Lakers are the poster boys of being bored. Yeah, but I'll take anything a guy says when when you're playing poorly defensively and you go through a bad stretch and then as the voice of the squad, you say, eh, you know, we're not playing you know with the intensity, and guy, we'll lock back in.
Whatever.
What's he gonna say, we're playing badly. They're not gonna tell you the truth. Guys aren't Rotam Reddick was pissed. He was red faced because he wasn't getting full effort from guys. Ah, we need to get back at it. And it wasn't a hey, these guys are bored. It's like we're playing some bad, bad defense and getting into some bad habits.
So I'm a bit split from the full boredom.
But it goes back to the same thing with the eighty two games. It bemoans the old question of the final twenty, how do you convince people to mat that they should matter, and tournament certainly didn't do it right because we watched Dallas do it a couple of years ago, just saying the hell with it. We'll get outside of that and see what take our chances in the lottery. Now, while this is happening, okay, well this is while we're talking about this, of course, Chris tops porzingis hits his eighth three of the game. Right, No, I love playing back in thirty four Mayne. So the Celtics lead the Knicks by three, or the Celtics have tied, the Knicks will lead the Knicks by three one fifteen, one twelve with thirty seconds left to go. Meanwhile, you talk about what what did? What do we always get from Jesse? The body venture would say? What a gross miscarriage of justice? Y?
Yeah, absolutely.
Luka Doncic has just been ejected from the Lakers game against Oklahoma City. He got his second technical foul. And I agree with you, Frostburg. He was yelling at a fan. He was yelling at a fan who now, maybe you know, forget about SGA winning MVP. This fan might need to win MVP because he clearly has a big impact on the floor. Uh, Luca's yelling at a fan. The referee thought he was yelling at him, and right away he tees him up and throws him out of the game. Luca gets tossed. He's yelling, I'm yelling at the fan. I'm yelling at the fan. And because you had a referee who decides, hey, people come to the game to watch me officiate. Luka Doncic gets thrown out of the game. And so now it's six and a half left to go in the fourth quarter. The Thunder they get a couple of technical free throws as well. It's a one point lead for them. I mean, come on, man, I mean, come on, come on, what did he yell?
Come on?
But like that becomes the question, right if it was something where the referee couldn't distinguish between I'm yelling at this person and another. I mean, this is if you were college basketball, we just go to the review table for five minutes. In this case, how do you adjudicate that? Right, If you're just screaming in your general direction, he might still be pissed from a call three possessions ago. But but if you're yelling at a fan, yelling at a fan, right. I mean, obviously, if you're Luca, you want to you want to think that. Okay, dude, don't yell at a fan. They're gonna yell their stuff and don't. But yelling at a fan, okay, Okay, you didn't. You didn't embarrass anybody. If the fan is joined back at you, okay. But at the same time, I'm like, you know, okay, don't yell at a fan. Same time, dude, you're yelling at a fan.
Come on, they move on the floor though. It's where the referee is coming up the floor behind and Luca's screaming back. Again. If you're the referee and you're in that space, you don't know that he's yelling at a fan.
But this is where if you're throwing a guy out of the game, you have to stop. Cooler heads have to prevail and find out what's going on. I mean, there there needs to be Okay, Okay, you just threw the Lakers superstar out of the game for yelling something. Let's make sure we got it right. Let's go back and way. I would just say this for the for the referee, not to uh completely defend, but you've been hearing it from Luca for how many minutes is he playing tonight? Doesn't matter?

Said, doesn't matter. You don't throw him out of a game like this. And if he's yelling at a fan, he's yelling at a fan, but you don't know that he's yelling at a face in your ear.

But but you throw them. You were talking to that guy, but you throw him out because you think he was yelling at you. I'm saying, go back to the magic. Let's make sure we're I'm okay throwing him out. Hey, let's all get together. I mean, come on, no, I get But in the end, if you've been wearing it from from Luca, from every possession, which his reputation, his history is tonight, that if he said the magic word back to said fan and you think it's directed towards you, that's that's the way that gets worked out, didn't it. Yeah, but you need but if you go back and look at it, if you go back and say, okay, let's see this, let's look on the replay let's is that one.
Of the things that could be playing.
It should be. It should be, or at least say, okay, dude, you just threw Luca out of the nationally because if you're making if you're making a big deal about players not playing a naturally televised games, you got to make a big deal about officials throwing star players out at the end of nationally televised Well, they've had a bad night tonight anyway, because you've had your officials down low and baseline not calling things, and the trailing official coming back past half court has been making a lot of calts from behind. So that was certainly an issue. They were having a lot in the first half, and as things started up in the second. I mean, come on, man, I mean, I'll understand. Everybody's got to understand. Officials are not above reproach on this, sure, right, I mean understand, if you're gonna do it, let's see where we're at. Let's make sure we get it right. Instead. No, I'm doing it because Luca right away turnrounds. I'm yelling at a fen Lebron was in the guys, He's yelling at the fender. Thing Positivity Tuesday, Jason so hey, so looks as we get closer to the NFL Draft, every day is a different Shador Sanders story. He's meeting with teams, he's falling through the draft. What are you hearing? What's the reality for Shador Sanders right now?
I don't think anything has changed. It's just you know, you be buyer, beware what you read, what you listen this time of year. My take on this is he was going to go in the top ten. He is going to go in the top ten. I wrote a column about ten days ago at sports Line my sort of five favorite prop bets, and like, I'm like, put a couple of bucks on the Jets to take them or the Saints to take them, and at that time you could still get plus one thousand and above on the same take a quarterback with their first pick. Try to find that. Now, try to find those try to find that kind of value. It doesn't exist now. I don't know they'll definitely be there at nine, but I do think and have thought that that's where any fall or perceived fall would land, and the markets and reporting is caught up with that and doesn't mean that that's you know, how it will play out. But I think that's been his reality, that he's in play between two and nine. I don't think someone's going to move up for him, but I don't think he's going to fall, you know, pass the ninth pick one way or the other. I have never thought. We've talked about this for weeks. I don't think he's a fit with the Giants, just because of the way that owner operates and what he kind of thinks quarterbacks, like how they talk and how they project themselves in the way they lead and what they do or don't stay in the media. I just don't think that's a fit there. We've also talked about Boyd them. The Browns have really dumb backflips to make you think they're taken out dul Carter, But that kind of makes me think maybe they're not taking out the Carter. So I think, you know, he's that's his range to two to nine. You know, Look, I still don't think it would be completely out of the question for the Jets to take them, Like, I mean, what are they like, what have they really patched up with Justin Field's like what like what are realistic expectations of that? Like, I mean, how long is that supposed to take them out of the quarterback market for I'm not sure it takes them out of the quarterback market at all.

I think given the time, any time of day, you might have had one of the three guys in their uniform with Milroe taking the invitation to the draft. Do we cash that two and a half ticket on quarterbacks the over in the first round? Do we get to four?
Can I get a fourth?
I don't know about that because I still like, I don't know that I tell you that this is the floor for Jackson start, Like, I think the floor has probably picked thirty two, if that's still in play for trade. But I don't at least to this point, I haven't heard of a particular team that is, you know, really in love with him or that would take him before this guy, that guy, and the other. Like I think they are teams that like them and if they can get something that, you know, a player they think might perform better and then come back into the back end of the first round and get him too, then like, I think that's probably how it goes down, and I think that's probably how we get to three, or you know, maybe the Steelers just take them, you know, with their pick, although I think there's gonna be some detackle on some other players that they're looking at, boy because we have our cake and eat it too, and they look there. It's more aggressive organization now than they've ever been before, and they've made a lot of trades that we would say are not typical dealers trades. So I think it happens. I don't think there's a fourth. I think there will be a real run on them starting Friday, that Friday and continuing into Saturday. And I think there will, you know, be numerous who go in that range second third round. I mean, I think we're looking at, you know, a cluster upwards of you know, five or six kids, maybe even a few more. But I don't think there's a fourth in the first thirty.

Let's look at this Aaron Rodgers situation from a different angle. Let's say Rogers decides, yeah, I'm not coming. I want to wait for whatever reason, I wait for Minnesota. I want to wait for something else. What's the Steelers plan?
Is it?
We we get Kirk Cousins loose from Atlanta is something else or because boy, that's what I keep looking at Jay is like you talk about mismanaging the quarterback position if he doesn't come, Like the Steelers have nothing, I mean, they got absolutely nothing.
What do they do? I mean they've got Mason Rudolph. I mean like they've gone to the playoffs, they've been in the playoffs. Hunt the guys like Mason Rudolph before. And I think Cousins is absolutely a viable option. And Arthur Blank can play the tough guy role now. And you can have the GM tell people if you want them, you're paying them the whole twenty five million, or you're paying them at least twenty And that's fine and dandy until we get to a point where it's like, oh wow, I gotta start cutting this guys. Checked Like I got to start paying my backup quarterback twenty something million dollars myself. And I don't think that that makes sense for a multitude of reasons, and just for sort of like vibes in that building and you know, empowering Penis, and is that really how they want their quarterback room to play out? Like it doesn't make sense and Cousins doesn't want to be there, and like they don't really want Cousins, and they don't love how Cousins is handim the situations since they draft his replacement, you know, sending the hours after paying him to be their quarterback. But like they also, you know, I think the rest of the league doesn't see this for what it is and that they're going to get over on somebody and have them take this whole contract off their hands, and it's just that's a game of fools poker. So I do think Arthur Blank is doing a whole lot of bluffin now, but at the end of the day, he doesn't want his backup quarterback. To me, they can five times a starter or whatever. So yeah, I think Cleveland or Pittsburgh are definitely options.
For Cousin because I love all the the quarterback moves, and we love Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones, Joe Milton coming to Dallas as people melting down.
He's coming for Dak Prescott's job, Jason locking for.
I think he's coming for Trey Lance's job, and Cooper Rush, who's not there anymore now, in Baltimore's job. Look, they're smart football people who I wrote about this months ago, like, Okay, this doesn't look like it's going to be much of a quarterback class in terms of, you know, what was out there available in free agency, and the people are trying of lukewarm about the draft, like Malik Willison and this kid were two guys who, you know, just talking to enterprising general managers and executives and not even guys who needed quarterbacks. But like, dude, if you were in this une, what would you be trying to do? And they're like, well, I like the Green Bay backup, I like the New England backup, Like I would try to get one of those guys and develop them. I think there's upside with this kid, and of course he's not any but there's way they structured that contract. I mean, there's not even any point in wasting breath and time talking about other options in the short term because they're paying him over sixty million dollars a year to be their quarterback and he's stuck with them and they're stuck with him, so that's not changing, you know, the next eighteen months. But yeah, I mean, Dak Prescott also tends to get hurt, you know, in the last three or four years, and this other person might play because we've seen a fair amount of Cooper Rush the last few years, and like there are some people who think he's got NFL starting potential. So I mean, it's not a threat to Dak Prescott again anytime soon, but their backup tends to play, and they didn't want to pay for reading to Cooper Rush or whatever, and I think this kid can play a little bit.
You know.
The thing is Jay, And this is what I look at is that, yes, you do need somebody that might need to step in, because clearly we've seen two out of the last three years Dak gets hurt. But I kind of looked at it as they went out and got Trey Lance, and it was worth it because, hey, we're gonna put a little bit of pressure on you, Dak, because we're gonna put a guy behind you who's young and hungry and maybe getting a chance, and kind of what Green Bay did with Jordan Love for Aaron Rodgers and what happened. Dak went out and had an credible twenty twenty three. Now he got hurt last year. Okay, Cooper Rush is gone. We'll do the same thing. Now we're gonna go out and get Joe Milton. So make sure Dak you know we're gonna keep the pressure on you a little bit knowing there's a younger guy behind you. Because it worked well as a strategy in twenty twenty three. I would trade a fourth round pick if I knew that was gonna make my quarterback throw for four thousand yards and thirty five touchdowns.
I do that.
I just don't think that's the calls Over relationship. And I don't think he feels threatened by a guy who was playing behind Jacobe Brissette and lost, you know what I mean, And like God, I don't think. I don't think it's that. I mean, I just think they've built the flow of football team and the quarterback.
