Why do we repeat patterns we know aren't healthy, and how much of who we are today was shaped by experiences from years or even generations ago?

Jake Underwood sits down with Dr. Russ Irwin, psychologist, neuroscience and business coach, and international bestselling author, for a conversation about his book Breaking the Cycles of Trauma.

Dr. Irwin explains how childhood experiences and generational patterns can influence our identity, relationships, behavior, decision-making and self-worth and why unhealthy patterns can sometimes feel familiar enough to feel safe.

The conversation explores the psychology and neuroscience of trauma, how deeply embedded responses can be changed, and the role faith and biblical truth play in Dr. Irwin's approach to healing and renewing the mind.

At the heart of the conversation is a powerful message: your past may help explain you, but it does not have the authority to define you.
