The General Post Office on O’Connell Street is undoubtedly one of Ireland’s most significant buildings;  as the headquarters of the 1916 rising, the bustling epicenter of 20th century communication and even the point by which the distance to towns and cities across the country were measured. This year, the Dublin landmark faces a milestone of its own - with a new purpose for the building set to be revealed. So could a reimagined GPO help breathe life into the city centre and how do we preserve our history while developing a living, breathing city?
