This week, three Limerick-based gardaí accused of perverting the course of justice walked free from court after a total of 33 charges were withdrawn against them. Having endured a “six-year hell”, the gardaí now intend to commence legal action against the State. The saga has prompted fresh questions about discipline in the gardaí.
