In this program, we begin by paying tribute to Adrian Wood, who should have been the host talking to his fellow Rotarian Alan Harris in this Hot Seat program. Adrian's untimely passing in 2025 still resonates with us, but Alan provides us with a nice homage to a good friend.

Chris Sayer then explores Alan's history - from his family history through the generations to his motivation to be a community leader with a vision for Launceston.

In our first episode on return, our new host Rob Youngs introduces you to Phil Ryan, and they will discuss the physical and mental attributes of ultra-marathon running.

Adrian talked to Chris Sayer in 2019 about retiring after an interesting and varied international business and international relations career in New Zealand and New South Wales. He became very engaged in local economic and community development activities, including at City Park Radio. As a presenter of classical music, stage and screen, The Hot Seat and various other programs, his voice became familiar to listeners.

Adrian passed away in December 2025, aged 76.
