The World Cup was amazing. Tip of the cap to our co workers at Fox Sports who have given their lives for the last three to four weeks away from their families, worked really hard, did amazing work in Qatar. They're coming home exhausted. I don't think we'll see them for a few days. Everybody did a remarkable job. And did we get lucky as a network Argentina Mabape and Messy. We got We got the two greatest players in the world, one moving out of World Cup, one probably moving into the next. Three or four wild finished penalty kicks, so great, so wonderful. J Mack is joining us, big soccer guy. You got lowoodrawls this morning. Yeah, and it was a profitable day gambling on the World Cup. You know if you follow me on social media. But five of the six goals scored byten Bope and Messi in the World Cup five, Like that's unbelievable. Yeah. Messi's got a good sense of timing the great too. Yeah, he's okay at that. All right, here we go Colin right, Colin wrong in a Monday where Colin was right blazing five had a very good week. We had the Colts Bears Raiders. We pushed on the Titans. So if we get the Packers right to cover tonight a four oh and one week, we'll take it. We've won three of the last four weeks. Got a little lucky on the Raiders, but you know, sometimes you get the breaks, sometimes you don't. Where Colin was raw Dan Campbell, I'm kind of blown away that opening press conference. I thought, oh boy, a little bit of a meathead. But I'll say this, they've won six or seven. No team plays harder for their coach. He did a great job to elevate Ben Johnsons offensive coordinator. They're clever, and that team buys into Dan Campbell. He is authentic, he's a big physical presence. Bill Parcels for years said this guy can coach. Detroit is the most fun slightly better than average team in the NFL to watch, and I couldn't be happier to be wrong. Way to go Dan. Where Colin was right, I did not have New England making the playoffs. I thought putting a defensive coordinator at offensive coordinator was arrogant in twenty twenty two, even if you have an offensive coordinator, it's hard to win. You can't put Matt Patricia in that role. And Joe Judge. I think New England sort of bought into themselves and bought into their culture. You got kids on the staff, you got special teams in defensive guys coaching offense, and how fitting Chandler Jones, the former Patriot, makes the play of the day where Colin was raw. Nick Sarrioni, another coach, brutal opening press conference, didn't have a ton of experience, But the Eagles and his offense absolute identity, wins turnover differential tons of big plays, and I think Howie Roseman has done a terrific job, and they didn't play well yesterday. But there's seven and o on the road, which speaks well to the coaching staff and the run game. Coaching travels well, run games and defense travel well. And the Eagles are seven and oh away from home. Pretty cool. Where Colin was right, I said, Josh Allen and two. You're gonna see that two is capable. But Josh Allen's a different level. The worse the weather got, the better he got. It's not the too wasn't fine. They had a great run game and game plan. I thought Mike McDaniel had the better game plan, but watching Josh Allen and Tuah you got to play him two times a year. I mean again, Miami was in the right spot for most of the game. Do you want a guy that's capable of completing passes or do you want a guy that can carry you to wins when your O line is shaky, your run game isn't great, and are making defensive mistakes. That was the classic example of what you want and what only one team has. Where Colin was right. Anthony Davis of the Lakers, it's a bummer. He's gonna miss multiple weeks with a foot injury. I said this the last three weeks. I've been pleading with Lakers, move him, trade him. Anthony Davis fans are like crypto bros. The more you burn him, they come back and buy more. He will never remain healthy. He's a super talent, but it was so predictable what was going to happen. Now he's out for minimum two weeks, many suspect much longer. Where Colin was raw Bears of lost seven straight. I like Matt Eberflus, and it is a rebuilding team. Justin Fields, though, which I was really into early, dude gets hurt too much. He runs too much, he gets hit too much. I don't feel as optimistic about the Bears. They're really bad at receiver. Vilas Jones was a bust with a third pick at wide receiver, Chase Claypool was unavailable. I hope they're still bad at receiver, still rebuilding on the offensive line. I don't know what Justin Fields is. He just takes too many shots and the Bears have lost seven in a row. Where Colin was right Zach Wilson, I know, I know he threw for three hundred yards, but I said this out of college. You can't struggle with the easy stuff. I mean that's that you can't miss on those throws. He misses on easy stuff. He takes bad sacks. He's too dependent on the great play folks. You got a hit about eight or nine easy ones, like Burrow does, like Mahomes does, like Herbert does. Robert Sala didn't do a good job with clock management. But justin Herbert's a kid. Why is he so good with clock management? And Zach Wilson so bad? I never bought into him. He was Johnny Manziel with an arm. Yes, he can be spectacular. That doesn't happen very often in the National Football League, where Colin was right. Finally, when usc was looking for a coach, when the Jaguars were looking for a coach, I said, somebody hired Doug Peterson. Please every coach, he's every quarterback he's ever had, Trevor Lawrence, Nick Foles, Carson Wentz has had their best years. I think this is obviously a very talented young quarterback. But man coaching matters, and Doug, a former NFL quarterback, is patient. He's a listener. Obviously, this team was struggling early. It takes a while to Change of Culture. But Doug Peterson was somebody. I literally called somebody inside USC and said, would you consider Doug Peterson. It's a quarterback spot I did. I literally called somebody in SID was the athletic director. I said, just put him on your radar. Would you just call him? I have no power here, just call him please. They did pretty well. They got Lincoln Riley so USC and Caleb Williams. They're fine. Colin right, Colin wrong. And I'm on the Jimmy Johnson, the Hall of Famer is now joining us live from the Keys Fox NFL Sunday. I will say this, I don't know if you know. I mean, you know so many of these coaches. I don't know if you know Doug Peterson, but I said this earlier, Jimmy, the hardest thing in the world is to find a star quarterback, and the second thing is to find a star coach. I don't know if you know, Doug, but I think it's pretty exciting. I watched them and I'm like, Okay, is this the young kind of you know. I'm not saying Andy Reid here, but boy, Trevor Lawrence and Doug it looks like it works to me. Jimmy, Yeah, with that question, I was really impressed with, you know, with Trevor Lawrence, and of course we all were excited about him coming out of college and disappointed last year. But he has come on strong here for the last couple of months and looks like he's going to be a franchise quarterback for them for a long time. Listen, you're friends with Balichick. I understand he's lost a lot of coordinators, he lost Josh McDaniels. But Jimmy, this sport. I said it earlier. Technology and football are very fluid. They change fast. They just don't have a feel for it. Like, what do you do? I mean, is it Mac Jones? Is it Bill? What do you see? I think what Bill Belichick's doing right now, he's trying to make the best out of what he has, not only with his coaching staff, but also with his players. With the roster that he's got. They're not a super talented team, no, and some of their talent is young, and so I think he's trying to make the best of what he's got. And you know, I you know a lot of people are criticizing because of the offensive philosophy, right now. But if you don't have the players on offense, what's the best way you can win? And the best way for you to win is not turn it over, not make mistakes, you know, and play good defense. And so a lot of what he's doing is because of the talent on the roster. You know. It's interesting, though, Jimmy, you were known you were really good with personnel, and you were good in college. You were a lot of your players were three star guys and you made pros and you know, Zach Thomas and guys what were overlooked. Bill's a great coach. He has not had a ton of success drafting offense. Is it a fair criticism to say, sometimes Jimmy, you get too much power and he's probably not relinquished some of the drafting power. Well, I don't know if it's too much power. I know, you know, when I went to the Dolphins, it was it was all overwhelming for me because I was trying to be general manager and head coach, that was my title. But during the season, with the salary camp and with free agency, I didn't have time, you know, to study see who's on the street. And with today's football, you're gonna have to pick up players throughout the year. You're gonna have to play rookies, you're gonna have to play agents. You're gonna have to pick up players off of other teams, either with trades or people that have been released. And so you've got to have help you as far as your people in your building. And you can't do it all by yourself. So, Commanders, giants, last night, people are complaining about officiating. Do you think the Washington fans had a point in terms of, you know, the receiver looks at the official. You know, the official says, that's not my responsibility to get you lined up. How did you interpret that? Well, a lot of times it's just out of courtesy. If if the receiver lines up and he points at the official, the official might tell him to move up or something, but it's it's the receiver's responsibility to line up on the line of scrimmage. Obviously the receiver did not feel like he was lined up right, or he wouldn't have kept looking over there. And then once well, once they started in motion, he knew he was you know, he was wrong because you know, he wasn't lined up on the line of scrimmage. So and so that that's the receiver's fault. But as far as the other complaints about the officiating, I always told our team, I said, you've got to be good enough to overcome bad officiating calls. There's gonna be poor officiating calls in every game, and if you study the film, you're gonna say, hey, there was holding here, there was holding there that should have been interference. You know, I told our players, don't ever ever complain about the officiating. You'd be good enough to overcome bad officiating. Okay, I've told my audience that that's exactly what I think is if it comes down an officials call, then you couldn't put the team away. So Saturday night you lived down in Florida, and yesterday, Jimmy, I watched Trevor, Lawrence Burrow, Herbert Mahomes Alan on Saturday literally overcome injuries, a blizzard, bad halfs, and they carried their teams to win. I'm not I'm not disputing. I mean, I look at my am me and you go play Josh Allen, and I think to myself, if I ran the Dolphins, I gotta face that two times a year minimum. I mean, I'm sorry, Jimmy, down if you were in your division, and I mean not the guys that had to face you and Aikman, good luck. What do you do if you're Miami at quarterback? Well, you know, first of all, you don't, uh, you don't ever get rid of somebody until you find somebody better, Okay, And you make the best of what you've got, uh, And I think that's what Chris Greer and Mike McDaniel's done. They're making the best out of what they have with Tuah No. I you know, Tah is not Joe Burrow, and you know Tah is not Herbert, he is not Josh Allen. But if you give him the right supporting cast, ta can win for you. And so you make the best of what you have. And right now, you know, you know, franchise quarterbacks are hard to find, Yeah, you know, and even even pretty good quarterbacks are hard to find. You look around the league about half of them, you know, really some of them can't play a lick. And so yeah, you really got to do the best at of what you have until you find something better. Jimmy Johnson the Hall of Famer joining us Jimmy um, somebody else said this, So it's not mine, But they said a coach has to be authentic because the players will sniff you out in a second. And you know, sometimes Dan Campbell will say things at the podium and I'll be like, oh brother, But I'll tell you what. When you watch the Lions, it feels like they buy into Dan's messaging. What do you see? I love what Dan Campbell's doing. And you know people say, well, these guys are getting paid umpteen million dollars, you shouldn't have to motivate them. Let me, let me assure you you need to motivate them. Maybe maybe the top eight or ten on your roster. Maybe they're self motivated, but they still need some motivation. You know, every company brings in motivational speakers for their top executives. Everybody needs to be motivated. But I tell you where Dan Campbell's done the job. He's motivated that bottom half of the roster, because I promise you some of those knuckleheads they need to be motivated. And Dan Campbell Dan Campbell, and that's the key. You know, there's some outstanding coaches out there XS and os, and you know they can scheme and they can do this and that. But if they're not motivating the bottom half of that roster, then you're not going to get the best out of your organization and your team's not going to improve. You look at the Detroit Lions. They have improved and got toughness from day one. It's because of Dan Campbell. No, that's Jimmy. That's a great point. So let's go back to Dallas. Anything about the loss. I didn't think the interception was Dak's fault. It was a bad bounce, But was there anything about it? You're a little concerned about. As we get we kind of get close to the playoffs, sometimes they get a little bit cute. You know, you run the football and they take a time out. You run the football, they take a time out, and then you try to throw a bomb on him and they saved their time out. You got to you gotta manage the game. You make sure they don't have any timeouts. That way they won't have time to go ahead and take it back down to field. But yeah, I am concerned about Prescott because when he has got pressure on him, Yeah, and I promise you the Philadelphia Eagles will put pressure on him right when he's got pressure on him. Sometimes that ball comes out and it's an interception. That's what the problem is having right now. Yeah, so if they don't protect him here Saturday, if they don't protect him Saturday, those interceptions could show up again. Finally, Jimmy I, as a coach, would have taken a knee and gone to overtime. I don't love all this lateral stuff. I don't like it. Oh it's just too it looks like Thanksgiving with your relatives. I don't like it at all. What do you, I know, sometimes you have what do you make of that stuff? It was simple at the end of the game with the Raiders and the Patriots either taking knee and go to overtime, because if you hand it to the you hand it to the running back, he is not going to go seventy yards for a touchdown. You know. Now, if you want to take a chance, you know, let's heave it down the field, right you know, maybe you'll get a pass interference and you have a chance to kick a field goal. But you either take a knee or you heave it all the way down the field. What's the worst loss you ever had? Did you ever have a loss like that or anything in your college high school coaching NFL career. That was literally I felt when Belichick walked over, I thought I had sympathy. I thought, that is that's that Nick Saban lost to Auburn. Remember that a few years ago? Like, oh yeah on the field goal? Oh it was awful. Did you ever have one of those? I had had a loss where we had nearly five hundred yards of our fancy the opponent had one hundred and eighty. They had one first down the second half, head eight first downs the entire game and beat his fourteen to ten because we turned it over seven times. Yeah, I remember that again. Was that Oklahoma State? Your first year? That was Penn Steak for the National championship? Okay, all right, there we go, Jimmy. It's great. The Hall of Famer Jimmy Johnson. The book is called Swagger, get it on Amazon. Great great stories as always Fox, NFL Sunday Crew number one for years. Good senior coach. All right, Colin, all right, yeah, the Nick Saban, I mean think about this. Saban's the best college coach ever. Belichick's gonna be go down as the best NFL coach ever, and both with horrible last second losses. Situationally, because if I recall the Auburn Alabama game, Nick didn't want to kick the field goal. I can't remember am fuzzy on it, but Nick was like, let's not kick it. What if it's short. Did you like what Belichick said about why they didn't throw the hail Mary Colin? I didn't understand his argument. We didn't think mac Jones could get it to the end zone. It's like a fifty five yard pass. Yeah. I watched mac Jones at Alabama. He threw the deep ball all the time. You know, you know, we like to decipher what the real meaning of stuff is. He doesn't trust his quarterback at all. I mean Mac Jones, like you said yesterday, one hundred sixty yards passing one hundred thirty yards, thirteen completions. No, I think, I mean, I think trailed for like three quarters of the game. Also, there was a plan in that game. Did you notice this? So Josh McDaniels is now in a division with Mahomes twice a year and Herbert twice a year. They're unbelievable, two of the top five quarterback talents in the league. Derek Carr threw a pick six a bad pick six for a veteran quarterback. And I like Derek Carr, but I could see Josh McDaniels saying I can get a first for him, or at least a second and a fourth because the Raiders, I think, have two fifth round picks. Trade Derek have a first, two seconds, a third, two fours, two fifth. That's how Seattle is going to rebuild, you know, with the Russell Wilson trade that pick by Derek Carr, I could see where a coach looks in his division and goes Mahomes twice a year. Russell Wilson's gotta be better. What if he gets a good offensive coach, Herbert twice a year and my veteran guy is thrown a rookie. That's a Zach Wilson pick six. That pick. Let's let's stop the Zach Wilson slander. But yes, that was a bond. That was Okay, Let's not let Josh McDaniels off the hook here, Colin. Okay. He blew another double digit lead at halftime, and how do you not get Davante Adams in the game plan more? He had like three catches in the first quarter and like one catch for four yards after that, what's going on? Raiders are a mystery man that offenses every game. No for the Raiders is like last possession, one possession, yet they lose almost We got to talk about the Vikings from Saturday. It's like that game happened a year ago. God One More Herd. The Herd streams twenty four hours a day, seven days a week within the iHeart Radio app. Search Herd to listen live or on demand whenever you like. Saturday it's a special day of football on Fox featuring the biggest game of the year if Jalen Hurt fleets the Eagles in their fight for the NFC East Crown against Dak and the Cowboys. It all kicks off on Saturday, Christmas Eve at four Eastern month specific on Fox and the Fox four Attack. I'm skiing Christmas Eve, Why Water ski in the morning, then I'm watching that in the afternoon. You've got skiing like seven am. And I try to ski Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my kids every year. It's just great. Not a lot of people on the mountain. But I got to figure out, you know, I'll get out early, ski for three hours, come back and watch all the game. Now, that's my kind of guy. Working out early in the morning and they sit around he pizza, drink some alcoholic beverages. Yeah, it's a great day. Jay Mack with the news. Turn on the news. This is the herd Line News. I made the mistake of going to social media during the commercial break there and fight fans are like, where's our Kirk Cousins love, Why aren't you hyping the Vikings? Colin, here we go. Okay, kirk Cousins and the Vikings had the biggest comeback in NFL history, Saturday down thirty three zero at halftime rally to win in overtime. Colin. It just simply incredible comeback. They clinched first in the NFC North, their first title since twenty seventeen. I thought Jeff Saturday was like mister Saturday. Well, bro kirk Cousins, We've said this, he's an adult. We don't always love him. But you know, he didn't get wildly emotional. He came in at halftime, you sit him down. He didn't pout. One of the things about playing this position the fanboys and the backward hat crowd and never wants to acknowledge it. Some of this some of this is being a grown up. You are the face of the franchise. So Kirk Cousins comes in at half, takes to coaching, turns it around, doesn't pout, doesn't soul. So he deserves a lot of credit. It also helps because justin Jefferson. You know, it's funny. I think I think the Colts have a really solid roster. But Matt Ryan, boy, he got tight. He gets you know, a lot of blame for Matt Ryan. You know, choke arts super Bowl this listen, Jeff Saturday, get a clue, dude, he was awful. Colin and I got her coach. Okay, fair enough, well ers brought this guy in. This is one of the great stats of the this week. Okay, the Vikings outscored the Colts twenty two zero in the fourth quarter. The last two games, the Coults have been out squared fifty five nothing in the fourth quarter by the Cowboys. Kind of fourth quarters winning time you're out scored fifty five zero. The media tends to overreact everything, so when Jeff Saturday won his first game, the media is like wow, and a lot of coaches in the coaching profession ripped. Jim Ersey for this and said this is embarrassing. Well, Saturday was embarrassing. So let's just the final scoreboard reads Jeff Saturday getting the job was not brilliant. This organization has a problem. It's Jim Erse. He ran Wentz out, he ran Raich out, he ran his play caller out. And so Chris Ballard has just left hand hand, you know, holding a bag on this thing. Now you got Matt Ryan, he's washed. He's too expensive. So you know, I'm in the media. We have to own it. Why we do a segment right wrong? The media jumped down all the coach's throats when they said this is an egregious hire. Well, those coaches look pretty smart now because I like Jeff and I know Jeff. He's not a head coach in the NFL. You got put years into this stuff. It's hard, so, you know. More bad news for the Colts. Jonathan Taylor was just announced. It sounds like he's out for the season. Injured. He got injured early in that game. Done for the season. They need picks. I have an idea, okay, business idea. You're a business guy. I starting a business. What if we opened herd consulting, and we could go to NFL teams and help them clean up their mess, because Ersey needs a lot of help right now, Like we'd be clean looking at this roster, Colin they got nothing. Well, they have no talent anywhere they go. Matt Ryan like thirty seven million dollar sticks here. Well, this is what happened. Two things. Andrew Luck retired and Jim Ursay is impulsive. This is, by the way, Dan Snyder impulse. Are you gonna sit here cry about it or say can't keep oh? Randrew Luck left us five years ago. Dude, move on clean it up. Like they got a lot of work to do. You know what I do, and start by looking a ship. Jonathan Taylor out of time? Didn't we get whatever? You you got to start unloading anything quarterback. You got to get picks and picks quarterback. And I'm full on tank mod next year. I know the Colts fans I want to hear that, but but you're not wrong. You can get running backs all through this draft. Yeah, Jonathan Taylor's a great player. I would trade him tomorrow if I could get to Atlanta Falcons. Did you see this guy Algie or whatever's name, Like one hundred and fifty yards rushing yesterday. Like he's like an undrafted seventh round whatever. You can plug in running backs, people don't want to hear. The Seahawks for years had a car Chris Carson. Was it from Oklahoma State? Yeah, guy was a bull for like six years. You just plug and play anyways, all right, congrats Vikings, way to go next up. Yeah, we like this guy. Justin Herbert. How about that sixth play, fifty two yard drive in the final minute. Beautiful stuff setting up Cameron Dicker that's the name of the kicker for the game winning field goal. Herbert was held without a touchdown. Did have two red zone picks. Now, one was a pretty phenomenal play by the Titans. dB kind of batted it to a teammate, yeah, and the other was just a bad Herbert play, but he stepped up when the game was on the line. Here's what Brandon Staley, who is still the coach of the Charters, had to say about QB one. I thought he had his best one. His best was required. You saw all the things that make him special there. His resilience is poise, his playmaking, justin plays like he always does. He's patient, and then you know, I was able to make big plays for us. He was able to find Keenan and Mike today Josh a couple of times and just you know again, you find out about your quarterback in two minute and you know again, amazing two minute drop. He he's a little like Josh Allen, capable of throws that almost nobody on Earth except Mahomes can make. Herbert and Allen still prone to the occasional really bad red zone mistake, right, remember that one. Yeah, defensive coach both of them, and offensive lines that still become a weakness of the team regularly. But I think Herbert, there's three quarterbacks in this league that do stuff nobody else can do, Herbert, Allen and Mahomes. And but but I do think Mahomes you get all the risk without the downside. Herbert and Allen still sometimes make that, oh my, But in fairness, both are often running for their lives because their offensive lines are injured or not capable. I'm just full of ideas here on Monday morning. All right, potential segment later this week. The most dangerous wildcard teams? You rank them? You know one? I mean, all right, yeah, our Chargers one Cowboys. One. I wouldn't want to face the Chargers exactly justin Herbert, you know, Detroit Lions. I would rather face them because I think I can pressure Golf and there are limitations. Herbert will do stuff off script indoor outdoor, doesn't matter his arm, and he moves any time a quarterback moves. Goff doesn't move any time a quarterback moves. Jalen herbs you can't script it. And by the way, if they have to go to Ksec in the first round, hey go look at the history of those two games. Chargers match up very well with the chiefs man very You don't want to see Herbert, all right, final story, Let's go to a team that's I don't know, slip sliding, maybe Dak Prescott and the Cowboys. They were up twenty seven ten and the third quarter Colin and then Dak you know, had a bad interception. He just they lose the game in overtime on a pick six. Now, a lot of people got angry on social media. It's not Dak's fault. If you look at very different replace from angles. The ball was off Noah round, it was arms like it. I think it might have hit it in the bicep. Yeah, No, I don't. I don't. I think Dak was fine yesterday, But I don't. I don't get disappointed with the Cowboys because I think Daks told be plus quarterback. I never thought he was when you start watching the Burrows and the Mahomes's not in that space. Dak or kirk Cousins. I've always said, Dak is Kirk Cousins with a better brand. It's the same guy. Yes, you're right, it is. It's a highly productive guy that could win a division or a playoff game, but he's not gonna win back to back to back playoffs. Dak or tua oh Dak? Okay. Just to make it sure, no, no, disrespected too. But here's a stat from the staff here. Dak has thrown multiple interceptions of four of his last six games. And when they were up twenty seven ten, the Jags go down for a touchdown, then Dak throws the interception. That was just a bad throw. They come back instantly, and now it's like a close game and Cowboys should have won that game. I was disappointing. I was on them, not a big one, but they should have won that game. I thought they were the better team. But Trevor Lawrence Colin really showed can he beat Joe Burrow in these playoffs if he gets them in no Jacksonville. You know, maybe it's just interesting there we have numbers on on the screen. Back Aaron Graphics. Trevor Lawrence since Week nine is arguably the best quarterback in the league, not like one of them. The best quarterback in the league. Yeah, so he is. And by the way, who's he throwing through is Zay Jones, Christian Kirk, Evan Ingram. You go get him a tough flight receiver at Jamar Chase. Here here we go, so radio audience, make nine. He's number one in the league in completion percentage TD, interception passer rating. And that's against Tennessee, Baltimore, Dallas good defenses. No, I mean he's he's really Now, when I was watching those that that game yesterday, I think watching them juxtaposed, right, Dak and Trevor Lawrence. Trevor Lawrence, he yes, yes, he had a he does the Justin Herbert and the Josh Allen. He tries to due to all these young quarterbacks duds. Yeah, by the way, they just announced his left tackle, Cam Robinson out for this season. It's a big loss. Okay, so there you go. That's like the Chargers. They lose all their offensive linemen, Cam Robinson left a bomber. Was a short week against the New York Jets. Where's it out, New York. Also, I don't want to look too far ahead this weekend's games. I don't know if you've seen the weather around the country. We're looking at a lot of single digit weather games like Cleveland Christmas. He's gonna be brutal. You know what game. I try to watch every big game. I watched five minutes of Brown's Ravens paint. I don't like the Deshaun Watson, so I'm sorry, I'm just telling the audience. I couldn't watch it. I want I watched Dolphins Bills my whole day. So I watched the first half of the Culture Vikings and I'm I gets thirty three knots and I'm gonna go out and attend to the yard. And came back in and it was time out to the yard. What are you doing in the yard but Ravens Browns. I watched five minutes. I'm like, I have standards, entertainment standards. I'm not watched Tyler Huntley Broncos Cardinals. Did you watch? Um, they actually played a game yesterday, I know, but Denver scores like twenty four points, didn't they? I think that happened. Yeah, I'm not positive. I have to check the internet. I mean, the third string quarterback came in for Coult McCoy. I don't know if Colt got hurt or who is at number nineteen McSorley, Penn State, the Penn State kill. Yeah, you know, he looked tall in the NFL. He's no Taylor, Like I said, he looked like a receiver. Yeah, he's a runaround guy, isn't he? Isn't he kind of a runaround? True around? Yeah, it sounds like a Counting Crows song from the ninety runaround guy. J Mack with the news, Well, that's the news, and thanks for stopping by her. No, the Arizona Denver game is a corner TV game. My friend Chad Melmane was called it's a corner TV game. So I'm not listening to it. I'm just kind of watching it. And they had number like nineteen for Arizona running around and I'm like, I'm I can't, I'm not I don't care, but Ravens Brown Saturday, I'm like, I'm not gonna watch it. There are standards you have to meet, entertainment standards. Did I've walked out of concerts and movies. Not gonna watch that game. It's why I can't watch games with fans, even friends who are fans. They all they do is complain about officials. And so when officials really are to blame, I don't want to hear it. Talk to the hand. All you do is wine about officials. So this weekend, you have to overcome bad officials. You have to overcome blizzards, You have to overcome injuries. Well, our guys are hurt. Get over it. So we're Mahomes, get over it. Nobody wants to hear it this weekend. Justin Herbert made mistakes, was missing offensive lineman, didn't do anything for three and a half hours. One. Joe Burrow trailed seventeen nothing one yeah yeah. Patrick Mahomes trailed all game, nineteen twenty straight completions. One. Josh Allen in a blizzard one, his coach got out coached, He won, Trevor Lawrence down twenty seven to ten, and the Cowboys defense roaring one win games. Have a better quarterback. Washington has never taken quarterbacks seriously. They got a hired any coach out there. They went and got a defensive coach, and now you have no identity. Offensively, I feel bad for you. It's why I'll say this. I mean so Terry McLaurin is the wide receiver and he complains that he looked at the official. He pointed the official, the official game heads up, you're right, and then the minute it's snapped, they have a penalty. You know, it looked weird. I don't think anybody's out to get Washington, but I also think in that past interference call at the end of the game, and I've been saying this for years, when you get to the end of a game, NBA NFL officials do not want to decide the game. They're gonna let games get much more physical, and in real time it's easy to get a freeze frame of that. But in real time when it first happened, I'm like, uh, I'm going for the ball. I didn't see the left hand. Officials due by the way they allow you can take a freeze frame on that all day long. Officials in the NBA, they literally We've said this for years. The reason young teams do not win in the NBA playoffs because the longer you go in the playoffs, the more the refs swallow the whistle. That's why Carl Malone didn't get as many whistles in the playoffs and James Harden didn't get a friendly whistle in the playoffs. You start getting to divisional round, the conference finals. It's why veteran, older NBA players been in the weight room longer, Older, stronger tend to flourish in the playoffs, right. It's why if you look at defense in the playoffs, Golden State was a great defensive team, Milwaukee's a great defensive team, Boston's a great defensive team. Those are your three best NBA teams in the playoffs usually right in the last couple of years, those are your team. They played defense. Older players been around physicality. Draymond Greene, you're Yannis, You're Marcus Smarts, you're Jalen Brown's. They're tough, they're physical. It's the same thing in the NBA. They swallow and they've been doing it my whole life. You swallow the whistle. You let players win games and finesse players shrink in the playoffs. The further it goes same in the NFL, physical teams are going to win these playoff games. Why because refs are gonna let more stuff go. They don't want to decide these games. They'd rather step away. I thought it was in real time, not pass interference. Then you look at the replay and say, that could be that could be a pass interference. But I will say this about Washington. You've butchered the quarterback position multiple times, you know. And this is why I've defended the Miami Dolphins, even though I don't think Tua is the guy they as an organization. You got to give the Miami Dolphins a lot of credit. The Dolphins in the offseason figured it out. They totally pivoted to offense. Mike McDaniel, Tyreek Hill, Cedric Wilson, Armstead the left tackle. I don't love the Dolphins. I don't love Tua, but the organization said, Wow, the world's changing, and they spent big money on offense. They gave up big draft capital to get offense. Washington hires a defensive coach, has a great defensive line. I mean they've they have not figured out in real time as the league is changing, they're not taking care of the most important essential part. This really becomes a league of quarterbacks and coaches. Jacksonville made a move Trevor and Peterson read Mahomes. So, you know, Jimmy Johnson was talking about this earlier with Tua. You know it compared to the rest of the world, it's not terrible. Oh we don't have it yet. Sorry. Yeah, So McDaniel came from San fran It was kind of a random hire, right, I mean, obviously new offense is Ben Johnson and the Lions. Who has coached the Lions. They've become a fun, exciting offense. Is he gonna be a head coach next season? Like, if you're kicking the tires, you got maybe a defensive coach, you run a run out. I think you got to give a look at this young oc in Detroit. This was my knock on the Jets. Yeah, so this was my knock on the Jets. So you draft a quarterback from a small school who's a little slight, little bit of a hot dog, Zach Wilson, and then you go hire a defensive coach. So I again again, I think Buffalo right now is the team we all stare at and go, Okay, Buffalo's got it right. This defensive coach, Sean McDermott. I'm watching that game Saturday night. He got out coached by Mike McDaniel. Yeah, they still can't get the offensive line right. What other team can't get the offensive line right? The Steelers Mike Tomlin defensive coach. Well, I'll defend Salah a little bit. His offensive coordinator is Lafleur's brother who was from San Francisco, so he should be able to help. Zach Wilson. I just think he's maybe beyond helping at this point. Not the guy. Yeah, so you watch Bills Dolphins? What what? We were on a family boat parade down in Orange County and I had the game. People random people were looking over my shoulder and I'm stewing and cursing because the Bills defense couldn't get a stop. No, no, no no, I mean the prints there from same frame and the Chargers here's how you stop them. And Buffalo didn't do that. I'm like, didn't you think, first of all, Miami got a bit of a weather break. I thought Miami totally outcoached and out game plan the Bills to look good in the in the bad weather. I mean, Buffalo don't know what. I didn't think it was bad weather until five minutes fourth quarter? Yeah, yeah, fourth quarter? Yeah, I mean the weather, they got a weather break and they were running all over ball. I watched that game, and I'm like, Miami had a better plan, a better identity. Buffalo was basically Josh save us again. Though late in the season Buffalo and Casey looking a little suspect Colin defensively. I have not like what I've seen from those two supposed Juggernauts, and maybe it's late season malaise, but I don't know. This could be a wide open playoffs. Maybe Borrow gets back to the super Bowl last year. Last year, Cincinnati goes to Tennessee the number one seed and beats him, Green Bays the number one seed, and San Francisco gets in, goes to Lambo and beats them. So the number one seeds with a buy both lost last year at home. So we're gonna have upsets, big upset. I wouldn't want to play Jackson Villar Detroit. They gotta make it first, right, But if those teams get in with that momentum, no thank you, because those teams can win a shootout. Those teams are scary. Our three next
