We both loved the Niners laugh last night to win and cover they did you know? I was thinking about this? We got the World Cup final Argentina in France on Sunday. We got NFL games tomorrow and Sunday. We always talk about the best month of the year for sports. October maybe one boy. December could be two December. I love it right now with a World Cup in I like to remember a lot. Lets you get the Thanksgiving games in Tilly November slightly over March. For March Madness is number two all those games. Have you ever noticed this? I have no stats to back this up. Seahawk games in Seattle are always crazy, They're always interesting. Carolina game, nobody watched it because of other games. Was really good. It's a fun game to watch. Here we go. It's the Blazing five. I feel really good about it. It's an interesting time of the year. Are there's some teams off buys here. I like, let's go, let's blaze it off. It's Collins Blazing five. Said Vikings. Okay, the number was better earlier in the week when it was closer to four and four and a half. But I'm gonna take the Colts plus three and a half at the Vikings. They're coming off a bye, they were humiliated in their last games. Loved teams that have been embarrassed. They had a lot of time to think about that. The Vikings defense is a mess. Colts are in a lot of close games. Season tried on the line right now. The Vikings defense is the worst in the league. It's the worst pass defense in the league. It's the worst total defense in franchise history. It's just too many points. They plan too many close games. I liked it better at four and a half. I'll still better at at three and a half Colts upset the Vikings. It's a go either way game. Twenty four, twenty three Eagles at Bears. I'm gonna take the Bears plus nine again coming off a bye. All four home losses this year have been under nine points. Justin fields since Week six. I'm getting sixty yard rushing and a touchdown every game. In fact, since Week six been pretty decent. We've seen growth. I do think this is a very good coaching staff, and that always helps off a bye. The Eagles second game on a three game roadie Cowboys coming up off a dominating win. It is a classic natural let down spot. The Eagles win, but I'm taking the nine points. Thirty twenty four Philadelphia Patriots and Raiders. I'm gonna take the Raiders minus one and a half. Hunter Renfro comes back. This is a big game for Derek Carr and Josh McDaniels. He's quarterbacking and he's coaching for you know, their careers. The Raiders are coming off extra rest. They've outgained each of their last four opponents, and do you know only the Eagles have turned it over fewer times. They don't beat themselves, they just have certain limitations. Josh Jacobs leaves the NFL in rushing yards, Davante Adams is a beast hunter. Renfro returns, and the Patriots, who have lost two of three, are o and six when they allow twenty or more points. Josh McDaniels, I think knowing this defense can have some success. Patriots offense's Week sevens authetic. They have one touchdown drive of ten plus plays this year, fewest in the league. They're also all beat up. Devonte Parker Jacobe Myers Arizona had a backup. I think the Raiders Derek Carr, quarterbacking for his Raider career, beat the Patriots twenty eight to twenty three. Titans said, charge chairs, I'm gonna take the Titans and the points. They're actually a very good road team. Four and three on the year. Ryan Tannehill's last eight games a lot better than twa against this defense. That Bosa has gone Derwin James out. Ryan Tannehill's last eight games is a passer rating over one hundred. The Chargers don't beat anybody big as a favorite. They're a terrible favorite team better as a dog. Their defense this year not good, and Herbert's been sacked eighteen times in the last month, more than any quarterback in the league since Week eleven, and they're just too overly reliant on Herbert forty five plus passing attempts in three straight games. Don't be fooled by this defense, owning two of Ryan Tannils playing good football. Titans desperate still lead their division. It's not a terrible team. They're in a bad skid. They're getting healthier. Twenty four twenty three Tennessee Rams and Packers. This number was six and a half. I liked it more, but I've already made my bed. I'm gonna take Green Bay here. Extra arrest Week fourteen by Aaron's been great at home this year, folks. Twelve touchdowns in a pick and one hundred and four passer rating. Where they've struggled is on the road, where they've struggled or against physical teams. The Rams are neither. They've also had one hundred plus rushing yards in five or six games, meaning finally Matt Lafleur figured it out. Aaron Rodgers, Aaron's Jones, that's your offense. Romeo dobbed by the way coming back Christian Watson has emerged and the Rams are bad. They were getting beat Baker Mayfield had a great last drive and deserves credit, but this year he was completing fifty eight percent of his throws. The Rams are one and four on the season. They don't have many of their best players. Packers went on Monday Night at Lambeau thirty to twenty. Any of those you hated, I'm against you on Titans for sure, all right. I was on the Patriots, but you made a compelling case for the Raiders, so I may stay away. I did bet the Vikings as well. A lot of disagreement this week, Howard. I was a little nervous man. So I've been hot in the four million dollar contest twelve and three last three weeks, so I'm now in striking range of cashing. And so now I'm overthinking everything, and I'm like, what do I know? What do you What do you mean? What do you know? You devour the NFL twenty four seven? What do you know? That's right? I am a little bit of a Suvengalia. Jeff Schwartz, former NFL offensive lineman, knows a thing or two about betting. Fox Sports analysts joining us in studio, you must long. So I was I was saying this. I was texting a buddy last night. I said, you know, the Niners defensive front is good. When Seattle's pretty good offensive line could hold up for about a second and a half, it looked like they were playing two different speeds, two different sports last night, especially in the first half. The Niners defensive line was incredibly good, and they were setting guys up with the way they were doing their games. And Seattle's OFFENSEI line, you mentioned the tackles are good. They struggled all night. It was a tough It was a tough golf. Did you ever face as an NFL offensive lineman for almost a decade, did you ever, because I think this is an all time defense. Yeah. By the way, this Ward kid that got from the Chiefs at corner, yeah, he's pretty much better than he did in Kansas City. He's like a one. I mean, there's never a great corner on the market, So, I mean corner was their weakness. They got a Pro bowler over there, Pro bowlers at safety, best linebacker in Fred Warner. Did you ever face a defensive line where you knew on film going in it's gonna be a rough week? Oh? Of course, I remember the two ten forty nine Ers, the Justin Smith, Alden Smith, Ray McDonald. That defensive line was not fun to play against. The Ravens that same year were very good in two thousand and ten, so there were the Steelers. I mean, you play these teams and I think about it now, I feel like there's more good pass rushers. There's more like each week you're playing someone who can beat you definitively the entire game, where it wasn't. I don't think it was quite that case when I first came to the NFL in two thousand and eights. Like now, each week there's one or two dudes that are legit on each team. So when you watch the Niners with Brock Purty, he doesn't know what he doesn't know. But if you were an offensive lineman, Trent Williams is like, I love him. Yeah, he is more mobile than Garoppolo. When I watched that offense, it's the same offense with a more mobile quarterback. The guys like him because he does what the coach tells him to do. If this is this look, you throw here, if it's that look, you throw here, and he does not make mistakes. He doesn't turn the ball over, doesn't fumble the ball, doesn't hold the ball too long, doesn't drop too deep. He does exactly what the coach tells him to do and each and every play. And you can live with a player that does that. You just don't want him to lose you games. And that's not he's doing right now. He's slowing to the guy that's open each time. They're keep him out of third and long because they run the ball so well, and they scheme up things well for him. But he's not making mistakes. And you can live with a quarterback, a thirstring guy who doesn't make mistakes. He's just doing what the coach tells him to do. So I saw a story that it really jumped out to me. It got it got slow played or underplayed by most of the media. Yes, where Tom Brady's tweaking the game plan and doesn't tell his coaches. So Brady was asked about it and got ticked off and said it's stupid. I'm not even gonna answer the question. But I remember having a discussion with Jeff's Saturday. I think it was one time about Aaron Rodgers. He played with him for a year, Yes, And he said that Aaron would get plays from the sidelines, and the relationship between Aaron and Mike deteriorated so much that Aaron would just I roll him and not do it. So when you hear that Brady thing, yeah, is there ever I mean, you tell me in your NFL career, was there ever a quarterback that said, listen, we're just gonna do this, don't worry about the coach. No. But also as a player, you might not know because you don't hear what's being said in the headset. You're just hearing the quarterback give you the play call. So if they call in something and Tom calls something else, you don't know that. To you watch film on Monday, you'll know. And and the coach has to then say, hey, I call a different play, or the quarterback is to admit, yeah, I didn't run the play that was called. Very rarely do quarterbacks come in the huddle, even if they don't like the play and say, hey, guys, we're not running what's in my headset. We're gonna run whatever I want. So if Tom is changing the game plan, he's doing that without telling the players. He's just going and say, hey, we're going to run this play that I want to run. But they're best when he's calling the offense. They're best in the two minute drill. They're best when he's in charge because the offense is so dysfunctional. They they run plays that do not work in the run game. They're very predictable, and I don't think they do enough plaction pass. And so when Tom is more in charge of the offense, and I'm not advocating for him to do this all the time, right like you should. There's a structure and you need to follow with your coach and the game plan is. But I get why he's saying, let me do this. We're better when I'm calling the plays. We're better when we're in the two minutes rail, We're better when I'm in charge. So I always believe that you're as good as the market says you are. Yes, even in my business, doesn't matter what critics say. If I'm available on the market, who comes after me? Hardball would get eight NFL offers and thirty college offers. Ryan Day would not get an NFL offer and would get maybe you know, he'd get some. But people could look and say you got dominated by Hardball. That tells you the better coaches. So my thing about the Derek Carr critics is, if he is on the market today, there's both New York teams would kick it. I think I think Washington Indianapolis is. So it's an interesting situation. So right now, let's up if we can guys the draft board. So they end the year against the Niners in chiefs, Yes, and they face the Patriots and go to Pittsburgh. So if they lose this weekend, yeah, you can see yourself saying from eight to about five, it could go sideways. So if the Texans and the Seahawks both take a quarterback, the Bears won't. I think the Lions would be out of their mind too. They could supplant Philadelphia. Would you you tell me you run the team? Now? Yes, Derek's more than capable, But Jeff I can get a first in a second easily. If Josh McDaniel sticks around and they and they say, hey, look he does, let's say he does. I think he's gonna want his own guy. We know all the time that the general manager coaches want their own quarterback. I would imagine if he can get a deal for Derek Carr, he will take it. He'll draft his own guy and he'll build the program up under this new quarterback. But I could also see him saying, look, we'll ride one more year with Carr. We'll draft a player in a position of need, you know, defensive back, offensive line, wide receivers, somewhere around there. Will ride one more year with car and maybe we s think enough to get ourselves a Kyla Williams or you know, or May next year. So here's my takeaway. Though I told jamac this, if he would have never had the Denver disaster and this was his first job, I think absolutely he gets a quarterback, yes, but this is his last chance. Okay, bombed in Denver doesn't work here. The seven million dollars a year jobs not many on the planet. You're done getting them. So my takeaway is part of him is thinking, well, I can I can win with Derek Carr if I clean this defense up. Yes, but you're never going to be good enough to win the division, right. I mean, you'll be close, But the Chiefs are about to win their seventh division in a row, and this is a year where they're supposed to be down right for starting four rookies on defense or playing four rookies, brand new wide receiving corps, and you have the Chargers seems to be maybe over that hump. Finally, the Broncos can't be his back next year, and maybe they can. But like, you're in a position, where is car that quarterback to even when you division and I could see him saying, look, we rather go with a young guy who has him more upside possibly and let's go get ourselves another first round pick for Derek Carr. So tomorrow night, Buffalo Windy to us. So I made this comp yesterday. Left handed SEC played with great players, religious conviction, physical limitations, get drafted, over drafted, and people in their building are split on them in their building, yes, and they go on a winning streak and we think there's something they're not. And in the end, if Tua gives us the third straight game where he's overwhelmed, there is a Tebo field to it. Now, he's a much better passer than Tebow. Tebo is a much bigger, stronger asthlete. And by the way, Tebow's gonna playoff win two. It doesn't. Yeah, And I'll just ask you if he unravels for a third time and he's not just struggled, Jeff, it's been three for seventeen. Stuff. It's like tebow stuff. Do you think he loses the room? What do you does he lose the organization? I don't think so. I think if you, if you like to uh, you'll find ways to discount a bad game right as we do. And if you don't like him, you'll say, hey, look well again three games in a row. But I but I do want to see how Mike McDaniel figures out how to stop what the defense are doing to him, right. I mean it's there's a clear blueprint. Now they're playing press man coverage and then they're playing kind of a zone on third down saying hey, we're gonna slow you from throwing the three or four type of throws you like. And so I want to see Mike McDaniel and in the offense and to find the second gear. Might not happen this weekend. They're playing a good Buffalo team, they're playing in bad weather. But I want to give them a chance to figure that part out before and say, hey, TWA can't do it. This coaching can't you know, staff can't do it. We're moving off a tah to the Tebow thing, he's he's not even close. My Tebow is like here too. I mean, I I don't think it's I don't think it's close. Okay, Well, Tebow didn't get hurt a lot, fair enough, but he also he only played three seasons in the NFL. I don't. Yeah, I'm I just I think to us far better than Tebow. Okay, that's fine. Um so Bosa roughing the pass or you watch it. We saw it with Herbert. Yeah, how does an offensive lineman view it? I don't like it? And I think if they want to review them, fine, but it needs to be at like a thirty second review. And I get the argument that, hey, you want these guys to stay healthy. But my question when it comes to calling these and to calling targeting college football, okay, is that our defensive linemen and linebackers are they actually thinking in the moment. Oh, I don't want to get a targeting. I don't want to. I don't think they're thinking that they're not changing the way they're playing because you're calling more of these and maybe they are in the NFL. They're not kind of diving on those quarterbacks. They're kind of rolling to the side, but in the end, like guys I don't think are fundamentally changing the way they're playing the game to avoid these type of plays. And so I like, this is not this is not a roughing the pastor like it could have changed the game. It was twenty one three, was twenty eight three and said Seattle scores and now it's a close game at the end. Like to me, that's not rough in the pastor. I get what the rule is, but I would not have forced it like that. So um, watching Seattle last night, it's interesting because you look at them. I don't have him with me. I wish I did. If you look at Gino Smith's numbers, it's like I think, like thirty one or thirty two or forty four. Yea, you look at his numbers if I never seen him player, like, oh, he's spread the ball around to seven receivers. He's more than capable. He's now. He's Gino from ten years ago or nine years ago. But he's adult, he's focused, he's a grown up. Yes, he's always been big and he's always had a good arm. So but might take his Seattle has two first round picks, one of them top five because of Denver and they're just never gonna be there again, so they just have to take a quarterback. They just don't. I think Seattle doesn't probably have a choice. But it is interesting because you watch Gino size arm focus, players love him. What do you make of what Seattle's gonna do now with Gino? I think they have to keep him on a short term deal if they can, and then drop the young kid. Like I don't think there's very rare enough of history. A player in year eight or nine becomes it's almost an elite, especially that position, and really any position doesn't happen that often, right, And I don't know if Gino's going to be that guy, And I'm not sure if you're Seattle, you can take that chance. You have a young roster at a young quarterback, use that money you have saved because you have a young roster, brings some veteran players in and all of a sudden boom your contender probably in twenty twenty four with a young quarterback. Like to me, Gino doesn't scream we're going to beat the Niners. Moving forward, we're going to win the NA But he's not special, correct, And I'm not sure that you know in this draft, you know the quarterbacks will obviously look it's a valuing quarterbacks is so different now, right, It's about more armed talent and what they can be than what they've done in college. It's a way, it's just totally different way that there's three of them, and I have a fee. I have a strong feeling on all of them. Bryce Young is plugin play tomorrow, but I really worry about his lack of size. Yes, Will Levis is the most talented, but needs to be refined badly. Sure, and I don't get to see j Strout. Yeah, I feel like he's in the mold of of some other Ohstag quarterbacks. But like a guy like Anthony Richardson in Florida, Like, are you telling me that you know seventy eight nine years ago you would never draft a guy down in the first round. Are you telling me with his physical talent? No, he's big and you couldn't you couldn't coach him up for a year like a Josh Allen in year three. He's an MVP candidate, Like he has the physical gifts. Ten years ago when I said no, no chance he makes it. But we're seeing now that you know the gifts, like, if you are physically gifted, coaches in the NFL will find a way to get you better. Not all coaches, well, Dalen hurts essentially, Bama is like, you can't throw. Yes, he goes to Lincoln Riley. Yes. And so the coaches are finding a way now to unlock the potential of these arm talent quarterbacks in a way that never happened ten fifteen years ago. And so you can't convince me anymore that a quarterback can't make it. Coaching matters a lot, obviously, But yeah, I mean, any of these guys, I think Will Levis and Richardson, to your point, have the physical tools. Prycends a little bit smaller, but plug and play and shrouded has the tools. But there's something about just Ohio State team in general. I just don't I just don't like. By the way, you are very like McIntyre, You are very much in the gamblings. Yes, he didn't like my picks this week. Bears plus nine, Titans plus three, Cults plus three and a half, Packers minus seven, Raiders minus one and a half. Are there any of those you really like? I took the Titans plus three in my five this week, Um, we almost took the Packers. We didn't do that. Um the Bears is tough because I just the Eagles are like a juggernaut. I mean, you're you're you're just taking a number. I get that at nine, but the Eagles could win this game by like three touchdown just running the ball. How boys next week game? I get that, But the way their offense kind of runs like they're just a machine. They just hand the ball off and blow holes in the defense and just run the ball down the field. I'd like watching them play. Favorite pick of the week, um my favorite. I like the Jets with the now now now the Jets that you can't bet that now you can't bet that anymore. By the way, Kenny Peckett's not playing so that games. Yeah, like there's those quarterback injuries. The Titans plus three was one of my favorite because I just think they're gonna they're gonna run the ball, which Miami did not do against the Chargers both and they have to win derwin James out it's still and their defensive lines all beat up, and the Chargers are just untrustworthy at all times. As a favorite, yeah, never better, no chance. Good seeing you and everybody one more Herd. Colin. One of the matchups is Cowboys at Jaguars. You seem a little reluctant to dive into this game, Dallas potential look ahead spot. They have not looked crisp. If you look at the injury report, Colin, Cowboys have some issues in the secondary. They're picking off dudes off the streets. So all week I was so pro down us, and then I got talked out of it. And the injury report, which late in the season, I don't worry too much about it September October, but you get to December January, like I go to the injury report on the Titans Chargers, like you know, every six hours. This was a stayaway game for me. I think Dallas wins, but I think it's really really close. Remember Eagles next week. Look ahead Jags right now. That data tells you. And Greg co Sell said this yesterday. The Jags offense in the last month has been big boy offense. I do worry because they're young. They just come off a big win. Can they handle it? Did they get a little ahead of themselves? This was a stayaway game for me. One hundred thousand dollars Fox bet they're offering. Yeah, I mean, he's just gotta you know again. Jags beat Tennessee by fourteen, lost to Detroit by twenty six. I know, beat Baltimore by one, lost to Kansas City, did not cover. I mean they're just alternating good and bad like they're still finding their way exactly. Yeah, be careful with that one, ladies and germs. J Mack with the news. This is the herd Line News. Let's start by continuing to pat ourselves on the back for calling the Brock purty Niners last night. Yeah. Nice w for san Fran on the road Brock two hundred seventeen yards too, Tudy, he's look at this one, Kittle, I could have thrown that pass. Goodness, and Kittle just dancing around this pathetic Seattle Secondary. After the game, Kyle Shanahan big praise for his young quarterback. He's definitely the most um poise rookie I've ever had. Um. You know, it's he's been like that since he's gone here. Um. From what I hear about him in college, I think it was very similar, you know, just starting as a as a freshman and I he's been great, and he was poised all week. Um, even him being unsure of whether he'd be able to go or not. You know, I think that was uneasy for him because he didn't know what to expect till he got in the game. Under circumstances, we didn't have any other options. So this is it portan to remember. You know, Kyler Murray starts one year at Oklahoma, goes to the NFL. This kid started three years in high school and four years in college. So think of all the in game snaps he had. So when he goes to San Francisco, this kid has had far more snaps then, like a Trey Lance if he was helping. I mean, so this kid's seven years of quarterbacking. He was in a very good league in Arizona, Gatorade Player of the Year, so He started in a very competitive high school league. Then he goes to the wild crazy throw at forty five times a game, Big twelve. This kid's got a lot of snaps. Now he may have a ceiling, but I mean mac Jones started one year and came in and had a very good first year. Now we may find his ceiling in three weeks. But in terms of get the offense quickly, he obviously they're calling the exact same game they did for Garoppolo. He did have the one dropped interception, which was last last week. He got a break on an officials call. So those are picks. In the NFL playoffs, you never want to go overboard. But I'll just say this Purty looks this guy can take you. Can he just ride the running game, healthy offensive line and that defense. I re least the NFC Championship. I would take him in any playoff game in any place except at Philadelphia, and I think it would be close. Yeah, you go in to Minnesota with Brock Purty and you're feeling confident, Oh you're winning. You hope Deebo Samuel's back, but you're winning that game. I think so if I have Deebo McCaffrey and that deep hit the Vikings Purties winning that game. Yeah, Vikings slip sliding down the tubes. Ye. Next up, Dallas Cowboys. They're in Jacksonville, big matchup. Jacks are just five and eight, but man, the steam behind this team. Everybody loves Trevor Lawrence and his great numbers. Dallas coach Mike McCarthy said, it'll be a challenge to slow down Trevor Lawrence being a dull threat, you know, for you know what the type of athletes he is, and you know, as a six six quarterback, I mean I've always been intrigued with that. But you know, his ability to play from in the pocket in out of the pocket is is I would say exceptional. I think, just like anything you know, young quarterbacks when they go through coordinator changes. You know, that's definitely I think a lot of bigger challenge than people want to recognize. So um, and a point I'm making. You can see him really starting to come into his own, you know, I think obviously Doug, you know Peterson in the offense that they run, you know, the multiple personnel, multiple concepts. So I think he's definitely playing his best football. So you know this last month of his pro career. Fun game, Fun Games, one of the better games on the late Yeah, it's the loss of the Lions inexplicable two weeks ago, Like they got their doors blown off by Detroit. Well, Detroit's defense in that game, if you remember, they got pressure on Trevor, so Detroit's defense week two to now it's better and Hudginson's becoming a real problem. He's really good. Ian Sauce Gardner are like really good players, elite. Now just file away. Remember what I kind of said, like, listen McCarthy if he loses that first playoff game, Scott struggles this this game's kind of interesting here against the Jacks, fastened it. I was all in on Dallas, remember a couple of weeks ago. I was like, us, this is the team to watch. So I think Philadelphia, not that they're not gonna but if the Jags beat Dallas, because you know Philadelphia is gonna play well in Philadelphia, that's gonna be the game of the week on Fox Dallas and Philadelphia. Oh yeah, Chris, I think Chris is eve. The executives are saying, yeah, it's it's gonna get a time and one of the biggest regular season ratings in years. So this game for Dallas is tough because players Mike has already talking about the Eagles, He's already jabbering about him. So there are guys in that locker room that are not taking the Jags seriously. That's when you get in trouble in this league. Houston Texans didn't take him seriously. Jags are significantly more talented and better at quarterback than Houston, and now you're playing them there. I like McCarthy, this is tough, all right, let's just move on. Final story. Mike Tomlin Colin, He's coached fifteen straight seasons. I don't know if you know this crazy fact, never had a losing record in Pittsburgh. Crazy, pretty impressive. That's the longest dat by any head coach in NFL history. But to extend it, the five and eight Steelers would have to avoid a loss for Tomlin to have his first losing season. Now, report just came out Kenny Pickett is doubtful, not totally ruled out. Apparently he's like a partial participant in practice. Member his second concussion in five weeks. You don't need to rush the kid back, so it's not a lock that Trubisky starts. Colin Mason Rudolph taking a lot of snaps this week. I'm out. I'm not touching. Definitely not Sam Darnold. He could be all right, Hey, if Sam not is the I didn't but I did there. If Sam Darnold wins again and is three and oh win in Seattle, win in Pittsburgh and Joe Burrow loses to Tampa, well no, no no, sorry, sorry, Tampa loses to Joe. Talking about Baker getting a bridge job. If if with this defense which you called about a month ago, Carolina's pretty interesting roster, Yeah, jac Horne, that cornerback burns. They got real players, and I think their weapons are a little underrated. They've got some decent receivers. I'm just saying. If Donald wins again, Baker has a good showing at Lambo loses, but a good showing, then the two guys entered the league same time. Baker and Donald I think absolutely become very attractive two year bridge quarterbacks at a Houston. Do we overlook this game? Do we need to take Carolina here? I mean now the smort right now, the second Yes, I thought yesterday with Kenny pick, but like now this morning, yeah, I would take Caroline. It's the watchability and in this game offers Sam Darnold none, not even quarter TV. It's like we hit last on the remote control and you go back to the other game. That's where this game is gonna be lucky. That's funny. J J. Mack within News, Well, that's the news and thanks for stopping by the Herd Line. Leonel Messi leads Juggernaut Argentina into a star studded matchup with reigning champs France and the sensational Killian Bope. It all comes down to this. The World Cup Final coverage begins Sunday at nine am Eastern on Fox and the Fox Sports App. Numbers have been huge, shocking because of the time differences. Nobody's won back to back World Cup since Brazil, like fifty two or some sixty two, I think it was. So you have the two best players, arguably Messi on the way out his last World Cup. Bope is they play together at some PSG Yes, yeah, So both have five goals, both unbelievable talents, one older one a kid that the emerging star. So it's this is really this is really the way it should work. So you talk a lot about in March Madness how you like some upsets, but you want the big powers there at the end. This is what you want. This is perfect. I mean Morocco had a storybook run. Croatia had a good run. We get basically the two best players in the world going head to head, good massive countries. What if the NFL playoffs for every four years, that's how big this is. Let's say the Super Bowl. Who would you like to see? That's like a version of Argentina France this year in February or this coming February. Well, there isn't one. It's different. If Burrow played. I think the AFC Championships, ye will feel like this where it will be Burrow against Mahomes and Burrow maybe not as raw talented, but he has mahomes number. Remember Mahomes met Josh Allen last year and I think the second round it was crazy. Yeah. So um, anyway, it was a funny story this week. I know people like, don't the media. The media is like any other business. They make mistakes. And you know Tom Brady's upset. There was a report we thought it was a bigger deal than people discussed. Is that that Brady was basically on Saturday night taking players in and saying, forget the coaches, We're going to tweak the game plan. Brady was asked about it and was didn't love the question or the situation. He wrote that the media coaches are trying to follow along, almost like in real time, they learned what changes you made the night before when you get in the stadium. Is that true? No, I have no idea. I ain't Bray could write anything and say whatever they want, so no one. Yeah, yeah, I want to make sure that that didn't sound right. So yeah, yeah, I'm not gonna respond to every next question. So obviously it got leaked from somebody else. Is it a teammate who's over him, who's tired to Brady barking? Is it a coach who is tired to get in the blame? Is it Bruce Arians who got forced upstairs? Although you kind of think Arians if he thought that, would just say it publicly. But Brady and Tampa feels absolutely done. I never thought it was a great match. Tom did better than I thought. I thought they'd be a wild card team, if I recall was my prediction the first year, and they won the Super Bowl. I thought, pandemic COVID. There's no way they're not going to get the practices in. They got to buy late in the year seven and five, turned it around, went in a run, never lost again. So here's The thing about Brady though, he is forty six, and he didn't have much of a market last time he came out, remember in New England. When he left New England, I went and looked it up this morning, he had a passer rating of eighty eight. Today, with solid weapons and worse competition, a worst division, he has a passer rating of eighty eight. So a lot of people JAMAC believes the Raiders would be interested, and I, you know, here's the advantage is that I think with Josh McDaniels, whether they keep Derek Carr or get Tom Brady, they're not going to be picking top five ever again. Because I think Josh McDaniels and car next year, and Josh McDaniels and Brady next year, they would win a bunch of games. With either one of them, they'd win a bunch of games. So I think the Raiders are in the same situation as the Seahawks right now. They have the eighth pick. My guesses are going to lose at least two of the next four. They'll dB down to six or seven. I think you have to those are like Seattle's not gonna have a pick this good again. You might as well, roll it on a CJ. Stroud or a Will Levis or a Bryce Young you might as well. And I think the Raiders are in a similar situation that you probably have to take a quarterback. Now, the question becomes, if you take a quarterback forget Brady, do you just because Brady has no interest at this point at forty six in helping Will Levis or CJ. Stroud, he has no interest. Derek Carr probably doesn't have a ton of interest, but would be a little more helpful. I mean, you know, Brady wasn't gonna help Garoppolo when he was closer to his prime. He certainly not worried about helping a guy now he wants to win games. So my takeaway with the Raiders, as I get that they lose to the Chiefs, the Niners, maybe they beat the Patriot Steelers, they draft about six or seventh, I get them taken a quarterback. Do they then trade Derek Carr asked the quarterback to play early and get a first in a second. Derek Carr's absolutely got a market. You're kidding yourself if you don't think Derek Carr is a market And I would give up. You know, if I was if I was, you know, just just Houston, would I give up a first round pick for Derek Carr and signed him to a four year deal? Yeah? If I thought that was my guy. My scouts liked him and it worked. I think they're gonna go get Bryce Young because that'll sell some tickets. It feels big and big swing. Derek's not as big a swing. But the Brady thing is, we got to remember this. He didn't have a market last time, and he's the same quarterback. I mean he's not, he's not. He's certainly not better than he was in New England and he didn't have much of a market. Then he won't take the most money. But the Raiders are one of the rare teams. They can take Brady, they can get a rookie, or they can do Car. Very few teams have, and all three are fascinating. Brady's gonna win games. Cars gonna win games, but as a lower ceiling, and the young kid you get won't be Bryce Young, but he may have a big ceiling. So how how often does it happen that you have three fascinating options at quarterback and two of them you know we're gonna win some games. Can I ask why you're selling the idea of Garoppolo so short? Okay, he's gonna have a market. He's Jimmy g Wins with Shanahan. He's a pro. You don't have to worry about this guy off the field messing around. He always got is like a foot injury, Colin. He's gonna be back at the end of the playoffs. Wouldn't you think he's staying in San France. I have this um this theory with men. Men are more selfish than women, especially men who are who are professionally driven, which I would agree with that. Okay, we're all a little bit selfish because we make good money and we're I've been told that once or twice by the way, Yeah, yeah, So everybody a little selfish. So I've been told it a few times too, right, and by my wife. And the point being is sometimes you do things to protect your job, legacy, income. So Garoppolo's one of those because he's had injuries that if you roll the dice on Garoppolo and he gets hurt, it's very easy to marginalize the GM who got him and say you're an idiot. He'd been hurt his whole career. If you wif on Will Levis half these guys with Anyway, if Tom Brady comes in and isn't very good, well the owner liked him. He sold a bunch of tickets. If you stay with Derek Carr, Derek Car's a top twelve quarterback. But Garoppolo, it's hard to hang as a young GM in Vegas, it is hard to hang your career on Garoppolo. I always said this about when Lebron and Carmelo came out, that Carmelo was going to be a great offensive player, but Lebroun was seen as a once in a decade player. Melo just as a great player that you it's easy to say now you had to draft Lebron. You had no choice no matter who drafted, because if you missed on Lebron, it would ruin your career. You'd be the You didn't now Michael Jordan, as good as he was, the Blazers had Clyde Drexler, who was great, so they passed on Jordan. You don't remember the GM who passed didn't ruin his career because they had Drexler. It made sense. They went and got somebody went got I forget who it was, Sam Boo. So there are these moves that you that I think men, professional men. You got to protect your career. And it sounds selfish, But if I'm a general manager, I can go Brady and not lose my job, car and not lose my job. Draft a quarterback and not lose my job. I go Garoppolo and he breaks his shoulder and week two, my owners like my GM's an idiot. Wait, wait a second, my selfish? Where's well? First of all, we are males, we are selfish. Um, what happened to yesterday's last half full callin all? I keep hearing you pick up Garoppolo and he gets injured? Like what if he's not injured? They went to the Super Bowl with VI San France last year, NFC Title Game with Garoppolo this year they're on track to go to the NFC Title game with Garoppolo. I know he's out for a minute, but can we get half glass half full callin back? Like where's the positivity? You know what? Glass half full Colin was around, got kicked in then you know what, and he's back to cynical glass half full Colin the Cynica Garoppolo's like the Atlanta Falcons. Occasionally I'll win a bet, but mostly I asked myself every time, why am I supporting the falcon that is so disres I'm mister Garoppolo and he gets hurt again. Shame on me. Our three on a Friday.
