The Electricity Contractors Association South Africa (ECA(SA)), South African Electrical Workers Association (SAEWA), and the National Council of the Bargaining Council for the Electrical Industries have launched a transformative R2 million study assistance programme to tackle South Africa’s student debt crisis. This initiative provides financial support to the dependents of active, former, and deceased employees and employers in the electrical industry. Focused on academic merit and regional inclusion, the programme supports learners completing their Matric in 2024 and beyond for up to five years. It aims to promote equal educational opportunities and alleviate the financial burdens of higher education
