Residents of Howell Road in Sydenham in Durban are up in arms after numerous families were evicted from their homes early last week. Conflicting reports emerged after rubber bullets were fired at residents during the eviction process. According to the residents, the Howell Road housing units, which were established in 2001, formed part of a Reconstruction and Development Programme, or RDP project. Many residents believe they are entitled to ownership of the housing units in Howell Road. Orrin Singh filed this report
