In the 25 years of covering golf, the development of the game, courses and the camaraderie that’s core to the culture, it was time for Matt to share some of the best stories he has heard around fire pits all over the world. From PGA Tour players, caddies, architects, avid amateurs and buddies-trip planners, Matt has forged relationships with some of the most colorful and influential people in the game. So grab a drink, a seat and settle in. We’re getting to the essence of one story per podcast. The Manning Brothers' Buddies Trip

In Part 2 of this podcast about the greatest buddies trip happening in and around the playing of the 150th Open Championship, the Manning brothers, Eric Church and several others continue their romp around the linksland of the UK, immersing themselves in the culture and traditions at some of the best golf courses in the world. From North Berwick to Gullane, Muirfield and Royal County Down, Eli Manning shares his wine and gets heat for ordering fish, Cooper Manning gets out of the robe but gets in red knee-high socks after Muirfield’s “proper” lunch, and a jet-lagged Eric Church is inspired to write a song, which he’s kind enough to share with us at the end of the adventure. More insider info, course reviews and reflections throughout this oral history of a trip that was a “once-in-a-lifetime experience” for a special group of friends.
