It was another great day to bat in the Midlands, as England ended the day 473/5. Ollie Pope scored his first test century on home soil, scoring a well earned 145. But the run machine, Joe Root, secured his 27th test hundred and will be at the crease when play resumes on day 4. 

The Final Word will be at every day of Test cricket in this series, with Adam Collins, Geoff Lemon and Daniel Norcross at stumps doing The Day in 30 Seconds, The Hall of Fame, and covering all of the action.
