Tal Goldstein-Almog was just eight years old on October 7, 2023, when Hamas terrorists broke into his family’s home in Kfar Aza.

Tal says they shot his father, Nadav, killed his older sister, Yam, and then kidnapped him, his mother and his siblings and took them into Gaza.

He was held hostage for 50 days.

Now 11 years old, Tal sits down with Erin Molan to tell his story in his own words — what he remembers from the morning of October 7, watching terrorists enter his community, the moment they reached his home, witnessing the deaths of his father and sister, being driven into Gaza, surviving Hamas captivity with his family and finally seeing Israeli soldiers when he returned home.

Tal also remembers the father he lost: an athlete, a great cook and the dad who helped him with basketball. He talks about his big sister Yam, how much he still misses them, how the experience changed him and what he hopes for his future.

And at the end of the interview, Tal shares a powerful message about survival, Israel, Hamas and what happened to his family on October 7.
