Alan Dershowitz has been a Democrat since he was 14 years old. He campaigned for John F. Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy and Ted Kennedy, represented major Democratic figures — and now says something he never imagined saying: “I’m a Republican.”

In this wide-ranging interview with Erin Molan, the legendary constitutional lawyer and Harvard Law Professor Emeritus explains why he walked away from the Democratic Party, what he believes has changed inside the party, and why the next two years could become incredibly consequential for President Donald Trump.

Dershowitz also weighs in on the midterms and the possibility of another Trump impeachment if Democrats take control of the House, reveals which prominent Democrats have disappointed him most, and makes a striking prediction about the future of Jewish candidates inside the Democratic Party.

Plus, Dershowitz reveals what President Trump asked him privately over dinner — and why he believes American Jewish voters may be entering a political shift.
