Akram Elias is a nationally respected scholar, speaker, and civic educator whose work explores American ideals, moral philosophy, and the foundations of the Great Experiment in self‑government. A past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Washington, D.C., he is widely recognized for his leadership in Masonic education and his writings on ethics, symbolism, and character formation, including The 1723 Constitutions of the Freemasons: The Indispensable Trowel—Cementing America’s Foundations. In recognition of his lifelong commitment to service and civic renewal, he was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2018.
