The Register-Guard’s Ryan Thorburn and Austin Meek talk to former Oregon defensive coordinator and current Pac-12 Networks football analyst Nick Aliotti on this episode of The Duck Pod.
The always candid Aliotti said the Ducks are still the class of the North Division and that Vernon Adams may have too much catching up to do to beat out Jeff Lockie at quarterback.
“My heart and gut tells me that Jeff Lockie will be the starter,” Aliotti said. “Unless in three weeks (of fall camp) Vernon Adams can come in and just be head and shoulders (better) against Jeff.”
Aliotti also shared some entertaining anecdotes from his coaching career, including nearly coming to blows with Lawrence Phillips in St. Louis and Chip Kelly’s radio silence during games at Oregon.
