The L.A. Mayoral Race Just Got a Whole Lot Hotter

The L.A. mayoral race is heating up, and it's not just the summer weather that's causing the heat. This episode, we dive into the latest controversy surrounding DSA Councilwoman Nithya Raman and her comments about L.A. Mayor Karen Bass and Police Chief Jim McDonald. According to the latest polls, Raman is leading Bass by 11 points, but it's not just the numbers that are making headlines. Raman's campaign is facing backlash after a video surfaced of her calling Bass and McDonald "fascist." But was the video edited to make her look bad, or was it a genuine expression of her views? We explore the details of the controversy and what it means for the election.

The video in question was posted by a popular influencer, Ed Choi, who has nearly 400,000 followers on social media. Raman's campaign initially denied any involvement, but it's now clear that they did collaborate with Choi on the video. The question is, what does this say about Raman's leadership style and her ability to work with others? We examine the implications of this controversy and how it might impact the election.

The L.A. mayoral race is shaping up to be a battle between two candidates who are both seen as radical by some voters. Raman's campaign is pushing a progressive agenda, while Bass's campaign is trying to appeal to a more moderate base. But what does this mean for the city of L.A. and its residents? We discuss the potential consequences of a Raman or Bass victory and what it might mean for the future of the city.

If you want to stay ahead of the curve on the L.A. mayoral race, tune in to this episode to hear our analysis of the latest controversy and what it means for the election.
