**Join the Conversation on Public Safety and Accountability in LA County**

This week on the John Phillips Show, Sheriff Alex Villanueva joins the conversation to discuss the recent operation on Skid Row, where over two dozen alleged drug dealers were arrested and charged with federal crimes. The operation, dubbed "Operation Save Skid Row," was a joint effort between federal agencies and the LAPD, and it's a step in the right direction towards addressing the growing issue of public safety in LA County.

The conversation touches on the importance of addressing the root causes of the problem, including the lack of effective policing and the need for more resources to tackle the issue. Sheriff Villanueva shares his experiences with the staffing crisis at the L.A. County Sheriff's Department, which has left the county with a skeleton crew and inadequate response times. He also discusses the need to renovate the county jails and address the issue of prison realignment, which has put a strain on the system.

The discussion also delves into the issue of harm reduction and the county's approach to addressing addiction. Sheriff Villanueva expresses his concerns about the county's harm reduction programs, which he believes are perpetuating the problem rather than solving it. He also highlights the need for a more effective approach to addressing the root causes of addiction and providing support to those struggling with it.

If you're concerned about public safety in LA County and want to hear more about the issues and solutions discussed on this episode, tune in to hear the full conversation with Sheriff Alex Villanueva.
