We are putting the spotlight on our eyes and the importance of looking after our vision, particularly in a world where so much of our day is spent staring at screens. Joining us is ophthalmologist Dr Johann Snyman, who has extensive experience in both general practice and ophthalmology. After working internationally as a GP and Medical Director in Asia, he returned to South Africa to specialise in eye care, obtaining his Fellowship in Ophthalmology through the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa and his MMed in Ophthalmology from UKZN. Dr Snyman is also the founder of Africa20twenty, a non-profit organisation providing pro bono cataract surgery to underserved rural communities. To tell us more ahead of World Sight Day, which is observed annually on the second Thursday of October, is ophthalmologist Dr Johann Snyman.
