Reddam House Ballito Grade 9 learner, 15-year-old Mahi Ramnarain, has fulfilled a dream that began when she was just four years old, while honouring the memory of a grandmother she never got to meet. Mahi recently completed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram, a three-and-a-half-hour debut recital marking years of dedication to the Indian classical dance form. The performance held special meaning, as her late grandmother had always dreamed of becoming a dancer but never had the opportunity.

Just two months before the recital, Mahi suffered a serious knee injury that left her unable to practise for six weeks. She then had just two weeks to prepare for this milestone performance.
