Dr Alyssa Ramdass is a 31-year-old dentist and she began karate at age six, earning SA colours and placing third at the 2009 Commonwealth Games. After years in competitive bodybuilding, she returned to karate in 2025, winning medals at provincial and national level. She is now selected to represent South Africa at the World Championships in Romania.
