Dottedlines Artistry recently participated in the ARTIVIST Exhibition at the KwaZulu-Natal Museum with a henna-based piece exploring vulnerability, resilience, and restoration. The exhibition created a powerful platform to confront gender-based violence through art, centring the voices and lived experiences of survivors. Using the intimacy of mehndi, the piece honoured the strength of survivors and demonstrated how art can hold space for both pain and healing while sparking dialogue, awareness, and collective reflection. Shivani Jeewanraj of Dottedlines Artistry chats about the piece.
