At just 13 years old, Ashton Singh is spelling his way onto the continental stage. The Grade 8 learner recently placed second in the Junior Division at the eighth African Spelling Bee Championships held in Zimbabwe. Competing against top young spellers from more than 30 African countries, Ashton battled through over 10 challenging rounds in a competition that tested concentration, confidence, and vocabulary at the highest level. His outstanding achievement has earned him a place at the World Spelling Bee Championships in Shanghai this July.
