Well you get there.

Unmatched election, fast free shipping, free road as protection, over ten thousand recommended dollars. Ty rack dot com Sway tirebuying should be Hey, welcome in. I hope you had a good weekend.

It's weird.

Hey, I'm not gonna I'm not I'm not doing this intentionally to tick off my producer Jason Stewart, because Jason likes to make fun of people. Go like a CANIMBELI is it twenty twenty Because inevitably, once it becomes twenty twenty five at the end of the week, people will say, can't believe it's twenty twenty five already?

Right, it's January already.

But I will say this when holidays fall midweek like Christmas has, like New Year's has. Ask yourself, like, at what point did you know what day of the week it was? And you're like, well, yesterday, I knew it was Sunday because there was all that NFL on Fair Fair, But there was NFL on throughout the week, so it kind of screwed up our equilibrium. I challenge anybody who's really honest with themselves and Sam, you can hop in here if I'm wrong, or you can hop in here, Jaysu if I'm wrong as well.

I can't guarantee, but I am it is. What was that?

Remember when OJ was on trial? You know, it's like, however, many million to one chances it is more likely than not that at some point in time last week you forgot what day of the week it was, Sam, Am I accurate?

Uh, Yeah, I don't know.

I was.

I think people here are who are working at Fox Sports Radio and me have suffered and that a little more. I was traveling and I was kind of really conscious of each day of the week, you know, I was spending my time. Yeah, absolutely, because I'm.

Not not not the day of the year, of the day, calendar day, like you know what day. Christmas was right, Christmas was on a Wednesday, butch was on a Wednesday. And then there's NFL on on TV. There's NFL on Thursday.

Like, wait, the football's all over the place and that was confusing.

Well, it's that I am used to the football because the Bowl season used to football. But when there's NFL and holiday midweek, you're.

Like, wait, what day is it? Actually? Jay Stu, did you have that at all last week?

I understand the sentiment, but no, I I'm pretty good with stuff. I thought I worked. I worked the entire holidays.

You were Christmas Day?

Yeah, so I needed to be up on all the days, you know, because we have our benchmarks industry term industry jargon.

Benchmarks are not interested jargon. What the benchmarks are our industry jargon. I just want to point that out. There are other plenty of other industries talking about benchmarks. Doug Gotlieb show here on five Sports Radio. We've made this mistake before, so I don't want to do it again because the last year was c J. Stroud and I don't think it'll be Jayden Daniels. But with sixteen games in our back pocket right now, and what's weird about it is the Bears were one play away from beating the Commanders, and if you looked at the Bears season, which has completely eviscerated, you know, or disintegrated since that terrible loss to the Commanders. But Jade Daniels had an incredible start to the season, sort of hit what the kids say. He was mid in the middle, and last night he was amazing. And I just wonder at what point in time we're able to go like ah Bears missed. We probably got to get to the end of next year. And we have to also calculate the fact that he's working with Cliff Kingsbury, who was a quarterback in the NFL himself, is an elite offensive mind, elite play caller, and he's crafted this thing in the NFL before for Kyler Murray. He's crafted in college as well, for Pat Mahomes and others. So some of it, a lot like Sam Donald, is not just how good you are, but who you're playing with, and then your confidence grows and the guy you're playing for puts you in position to succeed. But I would challenge anybody, anybody again at this particular day in time to say anything counter to the Jade Daniels is the better quarterback than Kayleb Williams.

Again, it's still just one year.

In second year slumps to happen, But I don't know how anybody would argue with that as of now. Do we take a snapshot of now, We're like, whooh.

Oo, don't think it's particularly close.

And last night was fun and you got to see Michael Pennix as well, so you're getting to see him, you know, compete against another guy from his class, another first round pick, obviously not nearly the number of reps and some of the game mismanagement stuff. You're like, geez, Atlanta, what is going on here? What is going on here? Do you actually want to win this game or not? But Pennix, it's too small a sample size, Jane Daniels, it's a small sample size in comparison to what we'll have in two or three years. And the Commanders have been here before, back when they were the Skins and it was RG three obviously suffered the knee injury. They've been here before. The man looks like they finally got the quarterback of the future, the quarterback of the now. And I would say the same ratio of people who screwed up last week, on what day of the week it is, are that same very small that's a big ratio. That same number of people are probably thinking, yeah, they that's the best quarterback in lest year's class. That's the best quarterback. And you know, if you're the Commanders, you have an absolute defensive mastermind as your new head coach and a guy who's built with you know, built a team previously with a quarterback on offense defensively. You know, look he built the team and went to the Super Bowl in Atlanta. I know he did built it alone. And of course, look what's happened to Dallas' defense since he left. Look what happened to Seattle Their defense since he left. You have the perfect marriage. And it's super interesting too. Like I listened to cow Hurt. I think Callen does a great job. But Colin's big thing is, you know, gott to hire an offensive head coach.

Gott to hire an offensive head coach. Got to hire an offensive head coach. Hey, Sam, who's the head coach of the Washington Commanders.

Dan Quinn.

Dan Quinn's area of expertise is defense.

Correct, Now, what dan Quinn did which is brilliant is hire somebody who knows what he doesn't know. Hire Cliff Kingsbury, Cliff Kingsbury's outstanding offensive coordinator, quarterback coach, quarterback guru, and it just works.

So I look at.

These I look at Washington, and I don't think there's a you have to hire one. You just have to hire somebody who's willing to do the work, marries with the players that you have, or you give them the chance to get the players that he needs, and hires the right people to cover his holes and do the things that he doesn't know how to or doesn't like to do in this particular case, coach offense, coach offins.

But man, what a night last night in DC.

Here's Jayden and Daniels talking about making the playoffs and the game winning touchdown to Zach Ertz.

The fan base wait a long time for this day. I mean, I really can't put into words, you know, how much of means to them, how much of means to me be able to go out there and lead this franchise, in this team to opportunities like that.

He walk us through the touchdown to Zach er It's at the end.

Yeah, this man coverage.

I knew they were gonna keep eyes on Terry, and I knew Zach had on one on one, and you know, we wrapped that so many times. I knew he was gonna win on it. He's gonna make the catch, and it was gonna be game over.

Yeah, I just I look at it and.

I think it's it's always fascinating to see how things work out. You know, it's always fascinating thing to see how things work out. Because you know, Caleb Williams was friends with Dan Steinder's son, right, DC guy, everybody you know, hometown guy comes home and he ends up getting drafted by the Bears. And remember we dial back to last time this year, there was that strong rumor that I'm sure Caleb Williams people put out there that he may not play for somebody if he'd gets drafted by somebody doesn't want to play for. Maybe that was the Bears, maybe it was not. But he ends up going to the Bears and jayde and Daniels falls to the Commanders and look where we are now. Crazy stuff. We got a lot to get to. You know, you got the Chiefs winning. They got one more game obviously to play. What happens there. Oh by the way, Raheem Morris with his unused timeout. Did you see that Rahee Morris refused to use the timeout and that key first down catch late in the fourth quarter of the score tied and they chose to hurry up play Falcons had that was that fifty six yard field goal We got this piece of sound. Here's Raheem Morris on the lack of a timeout late in the game. Why did you take a time out after Darneill's kitch first down?

We could have you know, I thought we can get to a line of scrims, what operation med a little bit faster there, get him there without going on the fasten our ball, try to save that time out. In hindsight, could have been a good decision, No, a better decision to take that time out, But I wanted to have the opportunity to move up there. So like you know, always second guess those things. You can always second guess those motives. You can always go back and look at him. See you can get it snack a little bit quicker. But I really believe we can get our operation time a little bit fascinated to be able to save that time out, still be to click off, potentially get the pass interference. Have a couple more snaps there, save the timehouse and bit of use them there.

Yeah, I don't know about playing for a past interference. I don't know the numbers in that one. When he talks about his operation. All that stuff is time they do go over it. Now do you have practice time to do it, but you have game time to do it, but you have to leave for some game slippage. You do it in basketball as well. You know your five second play have to you know, assume it's going to take seven seconds or seven seconds going to take nine seconds, et cetera, et cetera.

Missed opportunity for the Falcons.

They had so many opportunities late in that game to win that game.

They didn't.

The Commanders get it, go down, score lights out, game over, Drive home safely.

Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug Gottlieb Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

It's the Doug Gottlieb Show, Fox Sports Radio.

So the Chiefs are gonna start Carson Wentz in the Week eighteen against the Broncos. Obviously, the Bengals and the Dolphins need the Chiefs to win. Seventh wild card seed is the sole opening in the NFC playoff picture. Three teams in the running, the Dolphins, the Broncos, and the Bengals.

The Broncos play the Chiefs. If they win, they get to the playoffs.

If they don't, well, if the regular season end of the day Broncos be the seventh seed, they face the Bills. The Broncos path to the postseason is straightforward, win or tie against the Chiefs they're in.

The scenario is.

Entirely possible, as the Chiefs have declared Pat Mahomes will sit in the playoffs. The first thing is both these things can be true. The Chiefs can want to sit Pat Mahomes and most of their starters, and it can adversely affect the bengals chances to make the playoffs. But it doesn't mean the Chiefs are doing it because they care about the Bengals making or not making the playoffs.

I mean, I would actually make the case that if the Chiefs.

The Bengals, they could determine that the Bengals play the Bills, well, then yeah, I'd actually want to win that game because that eliminates the possibility the Bengals. Excuse me, the Bills, And I think the Bills this might be the year that they're better than the Chiefs. You know, we operate under this assumption. Wow, the Chiefs don't want the Bengals in the playoffs because the Bengals are clearly a better team.

Than the Broncos. But I don't know how true that is.

Broncos defense pretty good, granted, the Broncos have only beaten bad teams. Literally, don't look at the Broncos roster. Go look at the Broncos' schedule, and you're like, oh, they've only beaten bad teams.

That said, Drew Lock's playing pretty I mean Drew Locke. I say, I did? I said Drew Lock.

Well, that's because Drew Lock had a good game yesterday, but not because he plays for the actual Broncos. My bad anyway. You know, you're getting relatively good quarterback play from bow Knicks, you know, three touchdowns, one reception, and they're lost to the Bengals. The Bengals kind of a comedy of errors led them to go to ot but they end up winning the game. But I would much rather the Bills face off against the Bengals if I'm Kansas City because I don't want.

To play the Bills. I don't want to play the Bills.

That's just again, that's just my call on that one. Is I don't feel like the Bills are the team that I want to match up with. And I don't think the Broncos can go in and beat the Bills in Buffalo. Not that I think the Bengals can't, but you got a better shot with Jamar Chase.

And Joe Burrow than you do with Bo Nix, a rookie.

So I know that we have all these like Wow, the Chiefs want to lose because it screws them, like mhm. I mean, obviously, if you want the weakest team in the playoffs, you want the Dolphins to come kind of limping in and they're whatever. It does feel like it's gonna be the Broncos. It does feel like the Chiefs are gonna sit all their guys, And I'll honestly like, and we'll get to the Philadelphia thing upcoming, and what you do is Sakuon Barkley trying to go after the all time record, But you are so much better off to sit your guys, especially when.

You're the number ones, I mean, any of them.

But this idea of being rusty, like if you get cue matchine, if you can get two weeks off before the playoffs, and what you have to factor in is yeah, you won't have played, but if you're fighting your way into the playoffs, week seventeen is huge. And then the playoff games, those take years off your life. They're such hard football games. Stuck, got leave show. You're on Fox Sports Radio and you know we should do. Let's catch up with our favorite former NFL lineman. I guess one of our favorite former NFL linemen, our favorite former NFL Jewish lineman, because it's Hanukah, right. Jeff Schwartz joins just here on the Doug Gottlieb Show here on Fox Sports Radio Countdown to Kickoff. It's but sented by Bett mgm. He co hosts that long with Bill Krackenberger and Brian no that's every Sunday. Tune in each Sunday morning, ten am Eastern and they take you all the way to Kickoff on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app presented by Bet mgm. Jeff, what I've always found interesting about people who played in the league.

Cover of the league.

Know the league is that their perspective is vastly different than most of society, like the civilians.

As I like to call them.

So if you were writing a top line item today, if you were hosting this radio show, if you were to say, this is the biggest thing that happened yesterday in the NFL, what do you think it'd be?

Oh?

Good question. I think it's the Vikings might be for real. I mean I think I keep thinking to myself, you know, like this is going to drop off at some point. There's no way Sam Darnald continues this run he's on. Eventually, this Viking's magic, whatever it is they want a lot of close games, comes to an end. And Doug, it's just not like how many times you have to keep winning games like this for me to change my opinion about them. And I think that's where I'm at right now. Where you know, if they get to one seat next week on Sunday, I mean, they're legitimately a Superbow caliber team. Even if they lose, I think they're still they can make a playoff run. But to me, it's about that, Like I think all of us kept thinking the Viking thing won't last because we've seen so many times where a quarterback like Darnold has a hot start to a season and eventually fizzles out. You know, Brian Flores has that defense really the first month the season, it's you know, sort of humming, and then that eventually tapers off, and none of that's happening. They continue to win football games and continue to fight different ways to win football games, and I've just been very impressed with how they continue to do it differently each week. And Sam Donalds themes for real, I think I still have my questions about that, but I think the Vikings in Lions Man and the winner of that game I think went the NFC.

So what was it specifically about the Vikings or about Sam darl that you saw yesterday?

It leads you to believe that they're for real.

Well, they showed this penalt all season, and I continue yesterday where you know they sort of take everyone's best punch at times in certain games and continue to just build back. Right, so you know, they going to a big lead, the Packers score, and all of a sudden, the Vikings find a way to punch back even the end of that game. That game got close, got to two points obviously, and they came out of that final drive and finished game with the ball right. They threw the ball. They did not kind of go into a show and run the ball three times and punt it back. They trusted Sam Donalds to make those plays and that well, they lose that team obviously, next weekend is very different, and they trusted Sam donald in those moments to make those throws. For other teams, they don't do that, right, they run the ball three times and call it a day. They didn't do that here. So I was impressed again by the trust and Sam darl Or what he can be.

Stut Gottlieb Show here on Fox Sports Radio. What about the Packers? What's your level of concern there? I know they ended up being a two point game, but they had to come from behind norder to get there. What's your eval of the Packers in their postseason chances after watching them against the Vikings.

Well, my concern is what I think the rest of our concerns are, which is they haven't been the Hazes teams. Right. They have five losses this year, the Eagles, the Lives, and Vikings. They're gonna have to go through the Eagles, Mines and Viking Vikings to make a run in the postseason, right, I mean as it is right now, the tind of I mean, how the Commander's game finishes, and a couple of other things. They mean they might have to go to Philly in the in the first game of the postseason. Well that was all the way back. I think that was that Week one, all the way when they played Philly. They lost anyways, but even they then they beat too. They're gonna have put the Lion too. They haven't been there. They have to go play the Vikings, and they haven't been. So the concern is that they're a good team, not a great team. And of course, all of it's one win to change things, right, You win one game and then all of a sudden you feel like, okay, like we can we can do this thing. But to me, it's it's that there's like I think you're really close, but just not quite there yet.

Okay, let's let's take a look at the Giants. How do you explain a team that, rightfully, you know, for the franchise's future, should lose yesterday now that they when they win, but they light up the Colts and Drew Locke looks like, you know, the second coming of Phil Simms, Like what what what's your assessment?

What's going on with the g men?

Well, I think that this is just an example of the National Football League and just how every weekend you never know sometimes now to be fair, all the favorites one except the Colt yesterday, so maybe we do know. But the coltos showed this pattern now, right, a couple of years ago. But Carson wentz to lost in Jacksonville last year and last year they lost to Houston on that final play of the game where they drive the team that just these games in the season where they just crumble down and the Giants and I say this a lot, and you know this, We've talked about this before. There's no taking on game day, right, There's like the Giants are not taking on Sundays. They take Monday through Saturday with personnel decisions and game plans and whatnot. On Sunday, you play to win. The Giants played to win and maybe the Colt stops themselves with seven a half point favorites. The Giants aren't playing for anything. They have nothing to play for it, so they're not going to play hard not the case that it's not the case in this league. And so I give the Giants a lot of credit for continuing to play hard. I know it doesn't help their draft stop per se. Right, they might not have the first pick overall, but maybe this draft you need the first pick overall. Right, the draft for I think you can get if you want a quarterback, you can get someone after number one. Obviously number one. You can choose who you want. So I just remind yourself about that. You know, this weekend, like for example, I saw Jeron Mayo say they might not play Drake by essentially, which that's how you tink, right, you just don't play Drake because if you play them on Sunday, you're gonna play to win. You're gonna play to win, and if you win, you're gonna lose the number one seed and number one draft slaw, I should say. And I only the Patriots to want to leave that. So that's how you do it. So, oh, you know his concussion or you know he has a hand injury or akle hurts, like you probably ways to have him not play. That's how you That's how you tank.

Jeff Schwartz joining US here on the Doug Outlieb Show on Fox Sports Radio. Okay, what about We've talked about this on the show, sekw and Barkley has a chance.

To break the single season rushroom mark.

But it's a little bit like Roger Maris right, more games than Babe Ruth played. Plus like do the Eagles really want him to play? It's it's against the Giants, their their seating is set.

What do you do if.

You're advising Saquon Barkley.

Well, you sit And here's here's why you know. I think obviously the goal of the season is to win a championship, right, and the best way to do to be healthy. But the decision to play Barkley and chase this record two things. One is that party has two thousand yards, So this season is already a special NFL season, right, which is a rare r got two thousand yards rushian So he's only in the record books that is having a special season. Now all the TV breaks different than this record, it's even more special. I've actually I was on the twenty twelve Vikings team and tried to catch this record with Adrian Peterson. We were in a playoff on THO so we played all sixteen games because we had to play out sixteen games. But I think if we had a chance to rest, so we would arrested. Your kind of day of the season and they have an opportunity to rest is important. But here's where I think the real issue was is that you're only going to play Barkley if your player starting offensive linteman and are you going to risk like Lane Johnson in the year twelve, I think it is to play a meetingless team to chase a record. Are you going to put Jordan Malava out there to do that? You're going to play Jalen Hurts if he's healthy this week, you know to, So defense have to sort of look at him and not Barkley. You're going to play You're starting tight end, and you're like, so you have to either play everyone or play no.

One.

But you can't put take on Barkley with the back of off the line. That sures no purpose. So I think it's a bigger picture of things than Eagles where it's like, look, you have your record. He seems like genuinely Barkley does not care. He might carry deep down and Dye and him have a different opinion but publicly at least, he seems like he's not a guy that wants the record for personal achievement over the success of the team. So I didn't have to worry lies. And if you play Barkley, you play everyone. I don't think you can do that with the Eagles.

Jef Schwartz joining us here on the Doug Outlet Show on Fox Sports RADI, of course, long time NFL lineman. You can hear him every Sunday here in Fox Sports Radio, which is presented by Bett mg M. Tonight we'll see the Niners as they take on the Detroit Lions. Obviously, if Detroit wins, you got a chance a home field throughout. Of course, they do match up with the Vikings next week. But I want to talk to you more about the Niners.

I get it. Everybody likes mister Irrelevant.

He's been so much better than possibly advertised rock party. They can let him live on one more year of a contract. They can redo it this year. He's been good, not great, right, not a playoff team. What do you do if you're John Lynch?

Great question. So the thing when you pay someone sixteen dollars a year is obviously you can't pay everyone else, right, not everyone else, but you know, you leave a lineman you lose to this guy, you lose that guet is pretty good enough to win the games you want if you have one less wider people. Obviously the golfers want to concern. So that's a problem, right, pretty can play through that, but obviously at certain times you can't. You know what if you can't now pay a patch rusher, you know, can pretty help you win games with the defense not being is good that that becomes a concern of mind. It if you pay them all the money and you can't pay someone else, right, maybe have two or three someone else's so your roster is not a ninor problem right now is that they have a very top heavy roster. They have the highest paid running back or highest paid you know, left tackle and highest paid linebacker, high pay defensive end and highest paid corner Overtam and Dadgering a little bit. But at the time those guys weren't all the highest painted. So you have a roster it's very top heavy. So now if you pay rock Party, a top heavy roster is less. You have less talent for football players. You have to go back to you off to draft and developing. So I think it's a really tough call. The curveball is you know it's paying block sixty. Could you get Darnold for play unlikely thirty? I mean, I think Donald is going to get sixty two. He deserved the playoff pat of this season. I mean, I think that maybe you'd try that pack. But I think they're going a really tough ff. They pay, and it could be the same as we see all these guys that get paid like two and you're like, you pay to a team is just not good enough around them to win. I think with Purty, if you pay party, the thing is going to happen, You're gonna just have a a couple of players short of what you need. It's pretty the elevator where if you get brought Purty Josh Allen's wide receivers right, if he is good, I don't think so.

I don't either.

I probably let it live for another year and then and then figure it out after that. But we'll see what John Lynch the Niners Niners do. I agree he's that's a top heavy roster. It's a really hard call and I'll be really fascinated to see exactly what decision they they come to.

He's Jeff Schwartz.

Check them out on Sundays on Fox Sports Radios. Countdown to kick Off with Bill Krackenberger and Brian Know that's at ten am Eastern time. They'll take you all the way up to kick off on Fox Sports Trading and the iHeartRadio presented. I bet MGM last thing, Schwartze, how do you feel about your ducks and the guys.

I am very calm right now. I know it's still a couple of days away. It is when it's IPM Eastern. I feel good. I think we're just good, Doug like I think we're good football. Every game this year we've had to rise up and play. We played well. We've scored the most points this season against Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State, the most points post teams are allowed. We're very healthy. Look a lot of times with champion in any sport is obviously they're a good football including in any sport, but they're healthiest. Right We're not missing one starter for health at least not now. Obviously talt of World. There's no injury report, and maybe someone pops up as injured, but as of right now, we have all our players, like whoever starts the season, it's help be for It's like we're healthy, we're off of buy Ohio States are really good. I get that. I know that it's a very tough opponent, but I feel ugly comfortable right now. I mean, we'll play well. If you lose, you lose. I mean I hope we play well, and if we lose, it happens. But I feel pretty good. It's a tough road, I mean, think about you know this system now is because we got to win three games. I feel so much more at the NFL, where you know, you just you can't throw your emotional like eggs in a basket for one game as you used to wear the BTS championship right like you sort of save up a little bit, and so I can't just go I think emotionally all on Wednesday and then you have another game, another game. So I'm all the calm right now. I like our team, I like our coach, I like our motivation, I like the word I'm playing. So I feel comfortable and Wedday should be fun game.

Jeff Schwartz Schwartzey, thanks so much for joining us. Appreciate you.

Everybody take care.

May the Schwarzt be with.

You Gottleeb Show here on Fox Sports Radio.

Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug gott Leeb Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific.

What about you That gott Leap Show Fox Sports Radio coming to you from the tyreright dot Com studios. We got Lavara hate from the weekend. I'm coming top of next hour. Before we get to that.

Though, let's get to a game with Isaac Low and Crin.

This is game time on the Doug Gottlieb Show.

Isaaclon Krong, what you got?

It's lunchtime. But it's not a BLT. It's a BLD.

Big deal, little deal, no deal.

Well, as we've mentioned today, six former Florida State men's basketball players have sued seven ole's head coach Leonard Hamilton.

A legend.

He promised each of them two hundred and fifty thousand dollars in name, image and likeless likeness compensation, but they ultimately never received it. This lawsuit against Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton big deal, little deal or no deal?

A big deal? I think very big deal.

You know, you know one of the things that, and I've known coach Ham for a long time. I do look at him as one of the good dudes. I don't know the d details to it. I've read what everyone else has read. But again there's lots of details. It's a lawsuit, which means it's one sided. Like, let's let the details all come out, because there are things that for an iel, even though the reality is you're essentially just paying players, right, they do have there are certain things that they have to do in order to receive their payments, you know, like fulfill whatever nil duties they actually have and then you know they have to go to class. There's things they actually have to do. But one of the things I've tried to do in my short time at Green Bay is do what I say I'm going to do and nothing else. And it's a challenge because things do change, but it's something I think you have to do. And then of course you can throw in the possibility of litigation, it becomes even worse. So yeah, I'm fascinated to see what happens from this, this lawsuit.

And in fact, in just the last couple of minutes, Florida State issue a statement in response to this news and part of it reads, quote, at this point, we know of no unfulfilled commitments by FSU relative to nil payments owed to athletes. We support coach Hamilton's right to defend himself unquote. I'm curious what you read of that statement is because it seems that Florida State is kind of maybe distancing itself from Leonard Hamilton legally, because it seems that this is such a brave new world. There's a great area of who's liable between the head coach as an individual and the university. It seems like there's a gray area there. So, especially for someone like you, how careful do you have to be?

Very very.

So?

I mean, look, there's a lot too.

But there's the walkout last year against Duke February seventeenth, which most people in the sport knew about. They walked out of their shoot around before the Duke game. People didn't know whether they were going to play the Duke game. That actually became widely known. We know about some schools offering crazy amounts of money and not fulfilling those obligations. Again, if you just do what you say and say you know, say what you mean, and then do it fulfill it, find a way to get it done. I think you're okay, But I did I read that to the school as well. Now when they said we know of no such obligations. Can remember the nil is with a third party collective. Next year it moves, you can move it in house for your school, right, so they can it's plausible. Den I be like, hey, we don't know anything about this, but the part that he has his right to defend himself that is putting Leonard Hamilton on an island.

Yeah.

Yeah, I didn't like that line.

So we read it the same way. One more thing before we move on. In the actual lawsuit, it's alleged that Hamilton was very careful because he would never discuss any of this via text with the players. He'd only do it over the phone. So, whether it be specifically the college basketball coaching, do people in positions like that, including yours, have to be careful literally what you put into text?

Yes, absolutely, because mean it's this crazy deal where it's supposed to be have nothing to do with us. By the way, yeah, coaches aren't supposed to negotiate these things, like how do you think it gets done?

By the way, I've saved all of our group texts on this show in case I sue one of you all coming up later. I bet you regret that.

Smart.

Okay, let's move on. Rex Ryan and Ron rivera.

R R.

Reportedly going to interview for the New York Jets head coaching job a Rex Ryan Redo and perhaps Ron RIVERA big deal, A little deal or no deal.

I think it's a little deal again, because they're just interviewing. That doesn't mean they'll get hired. But also it makes sense Robert sola inexperienced hires somebody with experience. I just don't know if either of those two guys are the name.

Exactly all right. Yesterday morning we got the news that the Los Angeles Lakers had traded DiAngelo Russell away to the Brooklyn Nets. In return, they got Dorian Finney Smith and Shake Milton. The Lakers cutting loose D'Angelo Russell. Big deal, little deal or no deal.

That's a big deal.

I didn't like that deal from the moment it was signed. I remember people in the Lakers organizations saying, yeah, well they signed him, you know, to have a point guard, but also ultimately to move him. You know, you got a you got a good rotation guy, maybe v and two rotation players. But you got DiAngelo out of the building, and he was as talented as he is, he wasn't really useful in the playoffs at the level that the Lakers need to be used in the playoffs.

So I actually think it's a big deal.

Big deal for both teams, especially for the Lakers that found a way to get off of Dangel Russell's deal without taking on a bad new contract.

Finally, ABC News reported today that the FBI issued a formal warning to pro sports leagues about organized burglary groups from South America targeting the homes of professional athletes. Now, at least nine players have had their homes burglarized over the past three months, including Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelsey, Joe Burrow, and most recently Luka Doncic. This spree of pro athletes getting their homes burglarized, big deal, little deal or no deal.

Oh, I think that's a big deal. Big deal.

I mean, being a public figure, people know when you're out of town, and then you're a professional athlete, so they can actually see that you're out of town and they know you make a lot of money.

Huge deal, huge deal.

And the other thing is nine of these No, but he's been arrested for any of these yet. So these are pros who know what they're doing. And Doug, is it kind of creepy that it's I mean, you or I could go online and find literally the home addresses of these guys within ten minutes.

Yep.

Yeah, I mean I think what you'll find is you'll find people having either security details stay at their house or you know, buddies stay at their house, and they'll be armed and have dogs, and that'll be that. I mean, I think this is kind of what you have to do. But yeah, you can find people's addresses. It's it's crazy what freedom of information can actually bring you.

And on that troubling note, that's this edition a big Deal, Little Deal or new deal game.
