Hum, I just thought it was a great day. Unfortunately, we're dealing with this tragic terrorist attack that took place in New Orleans and everything that related to it. So it's interesting. When I was last on radio, it was with Dan Byer, it was with Jason Stewart, it was with IOWA Sam Only it was yesterday morning with the Dan Patrick Show. We guest hosted, and I did say at the time, like are we sure they're going to play this game? And then again at the time the release was the Sugar Bowls going to go off as plan and obviously as the events that had happened early in the morning. The reality to it was, you just can't play a game like that, especially with what was I think to anybody's account, Again, this is just second third hand of what we saw or heard about in New Orleans was a bit chaotic yesterday. So we'll have the Sugar Bowl tonight, we'll preview it, we'll talk about it. But let's talk about yesterday's football games. And please, again, I understand that I'm a sports radio host, I'm a college basketball coach, and you would think if I'm just talking about football that I don't have empathy for fifteen lives that were lost in senseless violence. I have an incredible amount of empathy. But it's also sport show, and let's just talk about sports to try and take your mind off of those awful scenes on Bourbon Street. Right. So, Dan Byer is a huge Ohio State fan, and he went to the Rose Bowl yesterday. There's a litany of topics. We can talk about the targeting that wasn't called against Texas. We can talk about the Arizona State comeback. We can talk about Cam Scattabo, who we had talked about leading up to the game. He's I mean, Dan and Jason saw him play in the Sun Devil's play at boone Pickens Stadium against Miles Moutter Oklahoma State. Like we can talk about all of that. We can talk about Ohio State and Oregon and the change of it first though, Dan, I just I'm fascinated by this as an Ohio State fan, but also having the balance of covering football and college football as well, both on this show and on your Sunday show. What were your expectations when you went to the Rose Bowl yesterday?

Game wise? Are festivities wise, game wise?

Game wise?

Yeah, because I've been, I've been.

I've been very fortunate to have gone to a few Rose Bowls, so I kind of have the sense of what we're going to expect. And Rose bull is a dream of so many and I don't want to say that I take it for granted, but I have been there and every time it's special. Game Wise, was what I told you yesterday morning. I thought that there was so much talk about Ohio State that here was Oregon. Nobody was talking about them, and I felt that Oregon would come in with sort of that quiet confidence that we beat this team before and nobody's talking about us. We can put that chip on our shoulder and we could be better, and that maybe all of the talk about Ohio State everything that they did, that maybe Ohio State would come out too amped up, too on point. That's what I kind of thought maybe would play out at the Rose Bowl prior to the game.

And the truth is that they were amped up and Oregon looked like they were They were down three touchdowns before you blinked an eye, like it was fast, it was it got out of it, got away from quick, and there was there was a moment there when they got a stop on Ohio State's first possession, first possession of the second half. They marched down, they get a touchdown and like, okay, we got a ballgame here. Then they get a stop and you're like, okay, we got a ballgame here. And then Ohio State their pass rush was just outstanding, batting down balls from Dylan Gabriel as well. I thought the pass rush really was was what kind of sealed the deal. And Oregon had no true ability to run the football against them, and couldn't even really get into some of their screen game with Ohio State batting those balls down. That was a super impressive performance. And again even the most ardent and you are Ohio State fan, would tell you that a bit surprised the level of domination in that ky.

Yes, absolutely, and listen, I I think I said it on the air. I know I set it behind the scenes, and I texted you guys after the game. I didn't think Oregon had any chance to win the National Championship this year because of going undefeated, being the only undefeated in the bracket.

It's just not going to happen like.

They're a great football team, but there they weren't great generational and where they can beat everybody and you're just gonna take a loss at some point. And it happened to them yesterday in the Rose Bull And I know it's an empty feeling, but Ohio State was the two and a half point favorite. You know, we had Jared Smith with us yesterday morning and talking about that that did we think they were gonna win by twenty No? But man, the way to channel everything in a positive way for Ohio State pretty remarkable. Now I'm curious to see because now what do you do with Texas? Yeah, because there was real there was motivation with Tennessee off of the Michigan loss. There was more renovation to beat Oregon because of the avenging the loss from earlier in the season. By the way, that is how you get revenge or avenge. Not beating the forty nine ers in meaningless Monday night game. That's how you do it. But I'm curious to see if they can continue that if it's been too emotional, Yeah, we'll find out. Plus, Texas should have a home field advantage at the Cotton Bowl a week from tomorrow. But very interesting matchup with the Longhorns.

Okay, then we get to what we had. It felt like a real NCAA tournament game in Atlanta, where Texas was athletically really talented, kind of regal, gets out to a big lead and then just kind of stalls out offensively and man, Arizona State was incredibly impressive. I've heard people say Arizona State outplayed Texas, just like, yeah, eh, I mean, if we are we cutting out the first half completely, is that what we're doing? We're just forgetting about it? Are we forgetting about the fact that Texas did miss two field goals with you know, one of their best kickers in Texas football history, like one that would have won the game. Like we are looking at this thing through glasses. I think everybody's talking about the targeting or the call that wasn't called, and there was a call in the first half, and you want it to be even and to be fair. And I had a tweet which people disagree with, like hey, and I said like, look, I think it's targeting. I think you could make that call, but I don't think you make the call there. And what's amazing about targeting is everyone that I know hates the rule. They just do most football guys like mos football not No one wants anybody to get concussed. No one wants anybody to go you know, old Stingley the defensive back for the Raiders and knock a guy out and count him out in the field like those days are long gone. But the softness of football is focused on how we treat quarterbacks and this targeting rule. Most people hate the rule? Is that is that fair?

Dan?

Yes?

Okay, that yes? So what you have to come off your high horse with is like, look, I get it. You wanted the upset. I get it. You like Cam Scattable who didn't I like it. I get it. You like Ken Dilliam. Whereas you know, Texas they have everything, they get all the money. You know, they got all these big name, big dollar players, and here's a now Arizona State. By the way, it's the bigger upset is that they haven't been good consistently over the past fifty years. Right, it gets it that team should that program should be elite more often than not. The fact that USC has figured it out and grant granted, they have great tradition, but they have one hundred thousand students and the fastest growing city in the country. Right, you're connected southwest flights to anywhere Texas West. You know they should have just gobs and gobs of money. That city just keeps growing. Right, you play in a former NFL stadium like that. They should have been They should be at this level much more consistently. But the point is that you get we get we create this like we want the upset so bad we'll do anything, even going like, oh and look, there's no doubt that had Targeted be been called Arizona State would have moved into Texas territory and would have had a chance to take the lead there, but they weren't gonna win. The game wasn't over because of it. And the reality of the call is like, what they're trying to take out of the game is lowering of the crown of the helmet directed at hitting a player, usually neck and above, although look, the targeting can also be into the chester or in the stomach. They don't want you to lower your head. One, they don't want your head hunting. And then two, the guy who's actually the tackler when you lower your head. Anybody who played football and Dan and I did, right, that's where you hurt your own neck. That's where recruit your own concussion. It's not just for the hit d It was a weird players a deflected pass and the tackle was actually just kind of a high tackle where it's like face mask to face mask. It's very close. They reviewed it, it wasn't It wasn't deemed as targeting and you play on It was actually kind of perfect And to people are like, oh, you call penalties, you call fouls the same, Like, yeah, it's blatant holding shore If it's blatant that you hit a guy out of bound. Sure, it's a blatant late hit, sure, but this is a rule specifically designed for player safety. I get that the kid was knocked out of the game. I don't know if he came back in, but at least temporarily. But that's like an add on rule, and I just don't think it should have been called there and it while it may have had some effect on the momentum of the dry, I've like Arizona State still had the ball, still had a chance several times over to win the game, and couldn't do it. So, byer, do you think I'm a little wrong, a lot wrong, or on the right path?

The gold dog for targeting is for safety purposes, right like, That's the targeting rule is not because an advantage was gained by either team. It's because of the safety of the game. But the only way that you're going to try to clean up the game is to penalize. So I get everything you're saying. The ball being tipped I think is a big, big part of this because we've seen how many times that affects pass interference, right like, But there's nothing that maybe the player could have done in that situation. But I do think it's targeting. I do think in that scenario there is a bit of a head tip that it is targeting and it has to be called.

And we were talking about Ohio State earlier.

Ohio State was probably victim of one of the worst targeting calls that we've seen in college football playoff history against Clemson.

So it's a sensitive topic amongst Buckeye fans.

But I do think that this is this should have been targeting in that situation. And I know it's for safety and for all of those reasons, and for a reason to say, like, well, it's such a big play and maybe it wasn't, I still think that you have to call it.

Okay, I'm just going to respectfully disagree and and.

I'm going to disrespect of disrespectful with you and just say bad things.

Now.

I just I get the tip ball part of it, But there is a helmet duck with it, and I don't know if there's me you know, how do you avoid it?

Is it teaching better tackling in that scenario.

I didn't think the form was all that bad. Like when guys when guys lower their helmet and even go for the legs and they completely dip their head like that's a bad form tackle, whereas this kid looked like he could see what he hit. That's just kind of the basic, the very very basic bar is the old and we were all taught at as kids, see what you hit. And I thought, yes, I admit that there was a dip right before you hit. There is. I also think that the truth is when we slow down any contact, anytime you tackle, you generally are going to naturally dip your head just a little bit. It's how long does it whatever? And is it an egregious act? And I think in that particular part of the game, it's got to be egregious to call it. And people say everything should be officiated the same in football. We'll hear from Kenny Dillingham in a second. Remember what, Remember Sean McVay when there was the uh uh what was it against the Saints? There was no past interference, right, There wasn't past interference called? And was Sean McVay or Sean Payton? Was it was Sean Payton right, because they were the victims of loss. And he said, that's a super Bowl call. That's a super Bowl call, and which Sean Payton's talking about is a very poorly kept secret of the NFL is the bigger the game, the less flags they want on the field they want to clean, especially the Super Bowl because more than half the people watch the Super Bowl don't watch football on regular basis. And the last thing you want to go is like that, what's the yellow thing? Well, that's a penalty. Why is the penalty? Well, it's a guy you can't see doing something that I can't explain, right, So what happens is and your guys, you're a Seahawks fan, you know this, Like when the Seahawks played in the Super Bowl, when they played the Denver Broncos and won with the legion of boom. You go back and watch, you know the Obviously the Broncos became discombobulated with the early fumble, but they couldn't get anything going because the Seahawks literally held them on everything they wanted to do when they got out out and then you know, like they were super, super super physical, almost daring officials to throw a flag knowing they don't want to. The point is the Super Bowl and the end of the Super Bowl is almost always officiated different then other times in the game than other games period so it does happen. And I think in this particular case, it's a player safety call, only it's not a there's no advantage gained on either side by like holding there is, or pass interference or block in the back, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. I think that one had to be egregious, and I didn't think it rose to that rose to that level. Here's Kenny Dillingham, head coach Arizona State, on the not call.

And in terms of the targeting, I mean, I'm gonna be honest, I don't know what targeting is. We lost one of our best players in the first half for targeting and I just don't know.

I just don't. I just don't know what it is.

So I don't want to comment on something that I have to get a better grasp of what it is, just because it's so you know, I just don't.

Quite understand it.

I do just want to protect the players, though, So whatever rules are put in place to protect the players, I'm all about.

It's the Doug Gottlieb Show here on Fox Sports Radio. I thought Kenny Dillingham he handled it well. I thought he handled everything well. I just do I thought he handled his team well as they kept playing when they were down. I thought he handled post game well. He's asked about why they stayed out there and shook hands because it's the right thing to do. I thought he handled even that question well, or he didn't come across saying like that lost us the game. So I walk away super impressed by Kenny Dillingham. I knew Cam Scattabo was a beast. Everyone who watched him the last two years that I was on a state was like, dude, how is this guy at Sack State for a couple of years before that, And I was honestly impressed by Texas because the whole world was out to get him. They and then they missed a few goal, miss it right, then miss it left, and you get to like, whoa boy this thinking? And you know what they did which again, end of first overtime, they score a touchdown, could have gone for two, tried to win the game, but you don't do that if you feel like you have the better team. So they kick the extra point, then they get the ball back, they score in the first play, then they have to go for two, they get it, they win the game. I actually walk away going like that was kind of impressive from Sarks team. All things considered.

It's The Gottlieb Show, Fox Sports Radio. Coming to you from the Tyrech dot com Studios. Help you had a great new year. The Boys are back. You know, there's a couple of interesting things going on in the NFL. I think most notably, we found out yesterday after we did the Dan Patrick Show that Saquon Barkley's not to play for the Eagles this weekend, so we won't play. He won't break the single season mark set by Eric Dickerson, so Eric's record will remain intact. Let's get the thoughts and opinions of John Mittalcoff, NFL analyst, host of the three Now podcast. You know, I'll just tell you where I stand. Is like the Eagles are playing for a Super Bowl all outside of setting a record, using you know, another a game and a half to do so, more so than Eric Dickerson's and it would take him, you know, one more game to break Eric Dickerson's than Dickerson said it was with sixteen. What's the actual win there? I guess what's your reaction to Saquon not playing Week seventeen, Week eighteam Sorry?

Yeah to me, I think the record already was broken. In everyone's mine, he had two thousand yards. I don't mean the Dickerson but like the Eagles, Saquon like, it'll never be forgotten what happened. They stole them from the Giants for not much money, and he came and had a historic season, shattered Eagles records, had one of the best seasons. I mean, anytime you get two thousand yards in a season for running back, it's the number no one forgets with a running back. Even if say Quon was like, I'm cool with playing and they're like, we're cool with you doing it. You also need the offensive lineman. And you know, one of the best players on the Eagles is a whatever, almost a fifteen year veteran in Lane Johnson that he would you know, he's not gonna play. I'm sure, so are you not playing the left tackle as well? My lot? So there's a big domino effect. Clearly the quarterback Jalen Hurts isn't gonna play. I think you would like to rest your two receivers who have been banged up, and it just becomes kind of a domino effect that way. I think it's I think it's the right move. At the end of the day, this isn't baseball most records. No one can say, like what the number is. I have no clue what Eric Dickerson ran for or Barry Standers like this specific number. I just know they ran for two thousand yards, and now I know that sa Quon Barkley ran for two thousand yards in with the Eagles after a general manager sat on a television show. We got to build around Daniel Jones, you know. So, I think it'll be something that no one like the Eagles won this sake one won this. It's not this is not something we're gonna be talking about. Plus, they're on the short list of teams, like the only thing that matters for them is winning playoff games, and I would say anything less than being in the NFC Championship game, I think you'd agree, would be viewed as a major failure. So they at minimum have to win two games in the playoffs. Can you imagine if Sake one rolled at ankle or something. I mean, you just you couldn't live that down.

Okay, what's your opinion of the Lions playing all out to beat the Niners in the game that didn't really help them?

That one was a little tougher. I do think, you know, if you're gonna do specific players, which I think the Eagles are gonna do, which would impact Sake one the Lions, you know their offense, You're not play golf in the game and then have them play next week. It was a tough spot once the Niners were playing everybody. It's kind of what Dan Campbell's brand is. Honestly, it's the NFL's brand, isn't it? Like that was a game that didn't matter at all. Yet how many guys that make a ton of money on both teams when the game means nothing. I mean, it was a war zone. George Kittle's playing his butt off. He both played his butt off all the doff.

Yeah, if they don't have anything else to play for like that, that is their biggest game remaining on their schedule, Like the Chiefs aren't playing Mahomes this week nor should they. Why would the Lions, knowing they have a game that matters Week eighteen, why would you play a money NT football? I don't.

I don't understand well who he's sitting like the two dvs. I mean what the offense like. I don't.

Well, you definitely said Jared. You definitely said Jared goff.

Uh.

And I think you pick guys that you feel like are are in harm's way, you know, harms way. I do think it's on brand for Dan Campbell, but that's what's gotten Dan Campbell beat this year. You know, it does the on side kick when they're down ten to start the fourth quarter last year against the Niners, and then he's like, you know, we just want to get some revenge, like over what like they're not going to playoffs. The revenge is go get to the super Bowl this year. They game did nothing for you.

Yeah, I didn't. I don't have an issue with it now. Granted no one got injured. I mean that would I also think I came away halfway through the game. I went whying to screw. They're not gonna be the lot, They're not gonna beat the Vikings, and they're gonna lose and then you watch that game, You're like, well, I kind of see a path. They just score every drive or score, you know, just score twenty five to thirty points. And he's got a force turnovers. I actually gained a little hope for them against the Vikings, who they've Jared Goff has been really, really good against in his short career against Brian Florid.

Stug Gottlieb show here on Fox Sports Radio. That is the voice of John Middelkoff. He joins us here in the tyreq dot com studios. So Brock Perdy gets a little stinger in his elbow, right, it feels like its elbow's on fire, same one that was sergeicly repaired. And the big talk was the potential for an offseason deal. What do you think the Niners do now?

Well, they were six and seven playing the Rams, and if they would have won the last three games, they would have been an excellent position to make the playoffs, right, and they could have won all those games, the Rams games, the Dolphins game, and obviously the Lions games. And he threw two second half interceptions against the Lions in a game they were clearly trying to win and winning the Dolphins game, a game they usually could have won. And obviously that Rams game, which was you know, a rock fight, and he kind of melted down making poor decisions. And part of brock Perty being a really good player is high level decision making. But by all accounts, their dead set on keeping them and paying them. But that elbow thing had to rattle them a little bit because I would say, pretty innocuous hit right, and then for him they had to say it was elbow was on fire. A year after having the UCL injury, he's not playing this week. That has to give them a little bargaining power of like, wait, we're gonna give this guy even the Jordan Love contract, you know, with a guy that has a major elbow question. I think there are a lot of question marks internally with the Niners right now. They wouldn't be doing their job if they're not asking. But by all accounts, everyone that covers them really close to a weekly basis expected to happen. So I guess we have to see what kind of comes out the elbow injury. But I've come around like I couldn't pay him huge money off what I saw this year. As time's got a little.

Tougher Stutt Gottlieb show here on Fox Sports Radio. I don't think the Chiefs had a choice on playing Mahomes whatever. But if they do lose without him, there is a world where the Bengals get to the playoffs. On the other hand, it could could be the Offins ahead of them. Do you think the Chiefs can pay any attention at all to the ramifications of losing Sunday?

Yeah, I don't think they really care at this point in time, do they. I mean, they're fifteen to one, They've went back to back Super Bowls. They just got to worry about themselves. I mean the Bengals, while their offense is awesome, well it's not act like they're some great team. Their defense kind of stinks. Can't run the ball. They need their quarterback to be like La meets Montana meets Brady every game. I think they're doing the right thing. I actually think I think that line feels a little funky. I mean, the Broncos have a rookie quarterback. It's not like they're blowing people out.

They haven't been anybody good. Haven't been anybody good all year, By the way, look at all the teams they play They have not beaten one playoff team all season long.

The Chiefs, you know, more than likely they're gonna end up with the Texans or the Chargers in that first game. They don't have to like look too far ahead because they literally just played the Texans and the Chargers are you know, wouldn't take them that long to get updated the last time they played them. I would have imagine Nandy taking this game pretty seriously with Carson Wentz and for Carson Wentz, all of a sudden, you play good defense who's desperately trying. You throw a couple of touchdowns. Look good. You could resurrect your career. Maybe you could get like a seven million dollar bridge quarterback deal next year intead of just being a backup. So I'd be I wouldn't be stunned if this game gets weird. I don't think it's just a lock Denver wins, even though Carson's point, I mean, do.

You no, No, We've seen this, by the way, I've seen this where they played the Chargers and Chase Daniels played for them last year of the season he was and Chase Daniels was awesome. I remember the Packers. God, what was the quarterback's name. I should know this living in Green Bay. Remember he was the backup and Matt with the Matt Flynn game. Right. Did he have six touchdown passes against the Lions? Right? That's how he ended up getting signed by the Seahawks. He was ultimately beaten out by Russell Wilson. But the fact is we've seen playing of these guys like one game and just light it up and have a good game. Like the assumption that a guy who was formerly an MVP candidate's going to come in and stink, I think that's a that's an ill fated assumption. We have no idea what's going to come look like.

The only thing is I don't know at this point in time how well Carson moves Chiefs off end of the line. I'm sure they're gonna rest some starters. Their tackles aren't that good to begin with, especially soon he won't play. The one thing Denver does do is rush the passer. Yeah, they gotta get the lead the league backs so that if Carson does play well against them. Actually, think of all the guy who's kind of playing this week, he's got a chance to earn some money. Like if you just throw like three touchdowns. He beats the Broncos. He's got ten million dollars one year contract written all over him next year.

Stuck Ott Leap show here on Fox. Sport Trailer's John Middlekoff, who's joining Ustory now, is in fact the podcast. I want to ask you about Cam Scattable. Obviously a stud and you know we always do this in the NCAA term and we shouldn't, but he's obviously exhausted his eligibility, so he's going pro. How much would you extend yourself to draft a running back who's clearly a warrior, can catch the ball a little bit out of the backfield, can do you know, all three levels of it? Can run it, can block, and can catch it. What do you think he's he looks like is in on Sundays.

Well, I think the hard part about the draft process and it sucks for guys like him, is like I would imagine he's like a four to seven guy. He's not gonna run that fast. So by the time the combine comes and the pro das and he's running, he kind of forgets that. Hey, remember, guys like this guy can really play when he's running over But that kind of determines your market value. You sigh, some of your attributes you might be able to get him, like the third or fourth rounds. And he's just clearly a good football player, you know. I don't think you over complicate it, like is he going to be some star in the NFL. I wouldn't go that far, you know. I like the Penn Stake guys more. I like obviously Jen t Moore. But he can play. And he proved like to me of a lot of the games he had in the Big Twelve, which were awesome what he was doing yesterday running those guys over and making plays and just willing his team back in. And I say the same thing about Jen. You know, when you have nowhere to go and you still gain five yards, that's more impressive when the you know, the line parks like the Red Sea and you go for one hundred yards. So the toughness, the physicality, the breaking tackles, like you said, he catches the ball really well, he'll put his shoulder down to pass Brock. He's going to be someone that the coaches really really like. You know, sometimes doubts and you know rightfully so like traits because you see so many guys that you know, overachieved. I don't even know if he's overachieving, but just maxed out everything they have in college like that always doesn't always translate to the NFL. I typically fall into that category. But what he did against Texas team, I mean on defense full of NFL guys, I mean, their nineteen year olds would be drafted if they could. So it was awesome to watch. But you watch, He's gonna run slow relative to some these running backs, and I think that you know where he goes in the draft. Most people are going to be like, how the hell did he go in the fourth round? You know, and whoever gets into the fourth round, Jim Harball, Andy Reid is going to be happy to have him.

Uh real quickly, where are you on the resigned Sam Donald train Well?

I didn't even think you have a choice at this point in time, right, I mean unless there's a total meltdown Sunday night and then the first round of the playoff game, so they lose these next two games.

Okay, but but but what amount obviously you want to resign him? What's the what's the number that you draw the line at?

Yeah, I mean I would have no problem. I mean, I he is he not accepting the the whatever year after Baker Mayfield contract right now, like three years, one hundred and thirty million, one hundred million dollars guaranteed, something like that.

That's sting that No mid thirties. Why why would you say mid thirties if you go three years guaranteed. No, I absolutely do that. Absolutely.

I would say it's a one hundred percent lock if they not and E and I and maybe he's asking for crazy money and they don't think he's getting franchised, like he's their starting quarterback next year. I think that's a one lock. And that like he is the ultimate like why the tag you know, can benefit a team because like I think they are gonna especially if he books good in the playoffs. I mean, I think they got a chance to win the NFC. They're just they're so explosive on offense. If they do have home field advantage, it's they have such a home field advantage. His rapport with the wide receivers, their defense is so well coached. I'd be stunned if they got the number one seed. If at minimum they weren't, I don't see how someone would beat him in that first second round. I think they'd be I'd expect them to be in the NFC Championship game playing the Eagles.

Awesome stuff. That's the voice of the one and only John Metalcall three and outs the podcast. John, thanks so much for join us.

Okay, Dan Byer, what's the game today.

Doug, it's a new Year, but it's the same game every Thursday.

Today's game is I feel a draft? All right?

New Year's resolutions that we won't keep as the topic, Doug, you actually have the first overall pick. Jason Stewart is second. Papa bit Ryan is third. In for the sick Iowa Sam to and I will pick fourth. Yes, thoughts and prayers to Iowa Sam in his illness, and I will pick fourth and reverse in the other order.

All right, Doug, you are on the clock.

Is this personal or overall?

I think overall?

In general, I'm gonna get your best shape my life, best shape I shaped my life survey says.

Number one answer. Dang.

Seventy two people said best shape in my life. All right, Jason Stewart, Dan.

I'll take it from here. Okay.

I rarely have suggestions for this segment. This is dan segment. He's the game maker, He's the creative person here. But I sent him a text earlier today because I just heard this on the Herd and I said that will make a great topic for I feel a draft. This is Jason McIntyre on the Herd today.

One of my New Year's resolutions less social media.

The reason why I want to bring this up is because we all know Jason MacIntyre. We all know j mack is a member of the team I used to work at FS one. We've had pleasant conversations. He's completely full crap. He's completely full of crap. We all know if you've been on his social media, that there's no chance in hell he's going to do this, So maybe the last.

Creation of social media. Yes, right, he's a creation of social media. He uses social media, and yeah, well you blame what right after doubt? But here's the big thing we all like Jason right like this is there's no animus towards Jason as a person. He's actually a really good dude. But the Jason persona, the showing your adult league games on social media and acting like that's somehow comparable to real sports is comical. So it's out of love that we're like, yeah, we don't, we don't buy it.

One of my New Year's resolutions, less social media.

Well, less is all relative, though, Dan, and less is all relative?

Yes, oh, we actually didn't laugh because on Monday night Jason was in his fantasy football championship and was screenshotting his game. And then what's the lie, like, nobody cares about your fantasy team?

Yes, it's so great.

No, he's a good guy, all right, Jason? Is that yours? Less social media? At number two?

Yes, all right, Ryan. Number three, Well, there.

Was a point in my life where my doctor said that I was a walking stroke and so it was like. Ever since then, I've been trying very very hard to lower my salt intake, but I haven't been doing a very good job. So this year, less salt less salt because I'm not trying to have a stroke while I'm on the air.

That's good. That's good.

That's good. That's good. I mean less sugar less salt.

Yep, yeah, I should have taken that advice about thirty minutes ago prior to my spicy chicken sandwich.

So are we just gonna are you going to specify salt here? Or it is just kind of losing weight?

This is this is how this is a better diet better.

Yeah, yeah, that's how I was shaped.

Yeah, shaping it better diet. So I did exercise, you did less social media, and he did better diet.

And I'm going to save more money in twenty twenty five. Oh yeah, I don't know about.

You guys, but yeah, well wait, wait, it's how much off. Let's let's sixty percent off plus if I sign up online for the newsletter, I get fifteen percent more off. Yes, well I'm saving money, babe, sweetie, I'm saving money. I saved sixty then fifteen additional and not Granted I do have sixteen other Ohio State Buckeye hats, but this one is unique to the Rose. It's a Rose Bold Championship had Babe Rose Bull champs be.

Not only will I be saving money, but hopefully with the time that I'm not spend shopping or buying ridiculous things.

Ye, I can reconnect with friends. Oh yes, yes, so that would be my other let's reac act?

Sure? Sure?

All right? Ryan, back around to you.

Ah, yes, so, uh this kind of like goes hand to hand with my first one. But I need to stop. I'm sorry, I need to start, uh being more healthy, but also like too much whiskey in my life last year.

Not get drink as much.

Come back on alcohol, come back on alcohol. Alcohol.

I don't drink and drive, but I guess let's stop. It's right, the famous last words of an alcoholic No, uh yeah, cut back on alcohol. All right? Go ahead, Jase do because I got I got the ultimate winner there for the final pick. Go ahead.

This one's for my super hot girlfriend Christina.

Yeah.

I'm going to be more present with the people in my life, more present with my loved ones.

Okay, can I can I get you with one that I know everybody lies about and they say I'm gonna read more, and I get a book. Oh yes, I'm gonna read more.

You can't even walk into on Barnes and Noble right now, for everybody's buying books.

That I can't.

I'm gonna read more. I really just a chapter before you go to sleep. Yeah, I just, I just I want to best more myself. I will to read something. Take me away, turn off the phone, turn off the TV, turn off everything, and just read every night within thirty minutes.

With my gift card, I bought that bedlamp so I can read at night.
