Full Hour | In today’s first hour, Dom leads off the Dom Giordano Program by telling that former guest and friend of the show Paul Vallas has outgained Lori Lightfoot in the primary for Chicago Mayor, comparing the situation in the Midwestern city to what we see with progressivism here in Philadelphia. Giordano breaks down Vallas’s background, telling how he ran things as CEO of Philadelphia Schools, and tells about the moderate nature of his stance on public safety, something Dom thinks Philadelphia drastically needs to the move the needle away from the high crime brought on with progressive politics. Then, Dom plays back some audio of teachers’ union head Randi Weingarten, who screamed about student loans at the top of her lungs, asking why we bailed small businesses out during Coronavirus but turn a blind eye to struggling individuals.
Then, Dom welcomes in former U.S. Attorney and gubernatorial candidate Bill McSwain back onto the Dom Giordano Program to catch up with the expert mind on his opinion on Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner’s continued relentless prioritization of political policy over safety of Philadelphians. McSwain tells Giordano about a recent case in which Krasner was caught with his pants down after trying to move a first degree murder charge to third degree. Then, Giordano asks McSwain for his assessment on Governor Josh Shapiro, particularly the topic of capital punishment, with McSwain pointing to the change-of-tune by the Governor after being friendly to the issue in the past. Also, McSwain offers his take on the Philadelphia Mayoral race, and tells whether he has plans to enter into public office in the future again. (Photo by Scott Olson/Getty Images)
