Former educator and non-profit leader Adam Greenman defeated 16-year incumbent Mayor Don Grebien in the September 9, 2026 Democratic primary. Official figures from the Rhode Island Board of Elections show Greenman securing 54.3% of the vote (3,633 votes) to Grebien's 45.7% (3,055 votes).
