Radio Final Hour in this Monday Best and Worst to the weekend. More of your phone calls coming up. Good morning. If you're watching on Peacock, our streaming partner will dive into the Canadian national women's soccer team scandal. There the cheating scandal that so far rocked the Paris Games. Basketball coming up at three Eastern with the women's basketball team Team USA favored by twenty and a half against Japan. I don't know if we're looking for storylines. You have storylines with the men's team, but the fact that Jason Tatum didn't play against Serbia feels like there's a lot of people who are upset about this. I guess maybe because Derek White, his teammate, plays a lot more, but he plays a different position. And I'll go back to what Brian Winhors to the Mothership said, and I'm paraphrasing against Serbia. Serbia doesn't have great forward. They have good big men, obviously with Joker, and they have good guards. Therefore, the US and Steve Kerr countered that by using their guards and you know, bigger men, bigger front line. There here is Steve Kerr on the decision to not play Jason Tatum.
It's tough, but Jason handled it really well. I talked to him today before the game that they may play out this way, just with Kevin coming back and the lineups that I wanted to get to. But that'll change, you know, Jason's going to play. Every game is going to be different based on matchups. He's a total pro. He's you know, first team All NBA three years in a row. I felt like an idiot not playing him. But in a forty minute game, you can't play more than ten, you really can't, and you know, so I just I think he's He's an amazing guy, great player, and handled it beautifully, and you know he'll be back out their next game.
Okay. He did talk to him for the game that it may play out this way. But I don't know if we're trying to manufacture something here. They did win, they won comfortably, Durant and Lebron looked great. I don't know if there's anything really to see here other than Jason Tatum for the Celtics first team All NBA and he's not playing in a game.
Yes, Marvin, if it was Derek White instead of him, him and Tyrese Haliburt and to sit in the bench. It would have been no big deal. Yeah, because those are probably the two least famous guys. Yeah, and two guys that are you know what, We're happy to be here.
Also with the women's team, I give credit to South Carolina head coach Don Staley, who's part of the coaching staff, who said, look, if we were looking at Caitlin Clark the way she's playing now, then you know, we really have to reconsider putting her on the team, basically saying she would be on the team because she's playing at a really, really high level. And I backed the decision to not put her on when the decision was made because I said it at the time. I think she could use a break. I don't think that she's played that well and it's been sloppy, and there are other players who I thought, Remember I said Erique ogumbob Wally should have been on the team. Like you want to talk about a snub, look at what she did against the Olympic team. Would she have thirty two in the second half? That's a snub. But Caitlin Clark going to get headlines and if Caitlyn was on the team, what would we be saying when she's sitting on the bench, Hey, you beat Japan by twenty five. Why didn't Caitlyn Clark get in that they don't want that they want everybody to be on the roster ready to go, and that you don't have people calling out your substitution patterns. The big issue, or at least one of the issues, was the Canadian team that won a gold in soccer, and then all of a sudden we realized there's a cheating scandal involved in this, there's a drone involved in this, The head coach sent back home and the team got fined or the country got fined. Greg Strong, reporter for the Canadian Press covering the women's soccer team at the Paris Olympics. Joining us now, Greg, thanks for joining us. Go back a week. How did this story break?
Yeah, it's just been constance. We arrived here Tuesday morning, Paris, and it's been a statement a day ever since. Basically on the Monday last Monday, one of the Canadian coaching staff members, a team analyst, was caught using a drone over the New Zealand practice field just outside of Saint Etienne, about a four hour train ride from Paris. Since then, just a series of developments that has really clouded the Canadian women's soccer team and their pursuit to defend their Olympic gold medal and just been a real talking point both news and sports site here I in France and also back home in Canada.
Was it a one time only, No, it was not.
Investigators discovered shortly after that Monday incident that there was another incidents the week prior involving the New Zealand team. And so, I mean, as I don't know where to begin with this story, I mean, Canada Soccers weighed in on it. They've started an investigation. Three coaching staff members have been sent home, kicked off the Olympic team. The women's team has been docked six points. That's a tough blow here in a very short tournament. It's just a series of never ending news developments. And actually we have one. Just ten minutes ago, the Canadian team confirmed that they will be appealing to six point deduction from FIFA. They hope that that will be settled in the next day or two.
How would the team benefit from drone footage of the new Zealand team's practice.
Well, that's a great question. It's really a head scratcher. Canada's, as you know, the defending champions in this sport. They won three years ago in Tokyo. They're currently ranked eights in the world. New Zealand ranked twenty eighth in the world. I bet Canada would beat New Zealand twenty nine times out of thirty in a tournament like this. So one as the question why, if you're going to do it, why would you spy on New Zealand with respect? And the other thing is I spent a lot of time at that training facility over the last week. It's about ten minutes from the main Dragon Saint Fittient, and you can see inside from outside. I mean there's some partial obstruction with the trees and the Olympic signage, but if you want to see which corner of the net the New Zealand striker goes to on a penalty shop, you can see it just from outside. It's very strange. But in general terms, drone footage, I mean it's used by teams, usually for their own programs, their own players. Gives them an excellent view and it can help with tactics. It can help with set piece plays, all sorts of things, but of course it's not allowed at an Olympic Games.
Do we know if the players knew what was going on?
The players say they had no involvement, no knowledge. This is something that they've had to deal with. They feel terrible because it's something that's a major distraction. Obviously, it's all they've been asked about every day here, and you know, they have trust in their coaching staff that when they're working on things that any kind of footage or any kind of knowledge is done in a normal manner. So this is something where the players are very disappointed. They say they're shocked to learn this over recent days and are just trying to concentrate on their performance on the field.
What's the reaction back home in Canada?
Top of the sports test but also top of the newscasts. It's really I mean, Canadian Canadians take a lot of pride in their sporting pursuits and doing things the right way, and this has just been a real cost of real shadow over the team, the program in Canadian sport. It's one Canada Soccer fears that it's a systemic issue in its program going back several years, and so the new CEO, who's only been on the job for a few months, has promised to take a proper look at it and the full investigation. It's something that they want to tackle right away. But of course you've got Olympic games coming up Canada. It's a travel day today. I'm on my way to Nice where Canada will play Columbia on Wednesday in their group stage finale. But it's something right now, everyone's kind of focused on the on field stuff instead of the off field developments.
Are we being led to believe that the men's Canadian national soccer team did not use drones?
Yeah, it's interesting. Kevin Blue, the new CEO of Canada Soccer, made reference to an investigation that or word that the Canadian men's team had considered using drone footage at the Copa America tournament that was recently completed. And of course Canada finished four at that event and did well to make the semifinals. Canada's men's side not as strong as the women's side, which is the reigning Olympic champion. The men's side is, you know, kind of fimbing up the ranks. I think their fortieth in the men's world rankings when I last looked. But to finish forth that the COPA was a really solid performance and so they're going to look into that and other previous results and how the federation handled things in recent years.
Greg, thank you. I know you're busy. We appreciate you taking some time. Thank you, Thanks Dan, Thanks you. That's Greg Strong. He is a reported with the Canadian Press covering the Canadian national women's soccer team at the Paris Olympics.
Yeah.
You go over there thinking, all right, I get to cover the defending Olympic champions. Wait what is it? Wait is a drone? Wait? What happened with the coach? The fact that you could walk by the workout area and you could look in or over the fence. Did they have a Canadian flag on the drone? I mean, what are we doing? It's you know, it's like Watergate sometimes when you go you know, the cover up or what are you doing? Do you need to do that? And then you realize what happened and then the fallout. Now this isn't sports version of Watergate, but you're facing New Zealand. What are you doing using a drone? Coach gets suspended for a year. They find the Canada the team three hundred thousand dollars and I said they should have had to forfeit that game against New Zealand. I mean, you cheated, you should forfeit that game. They ended up winning that game and then I think they just beat France. That can't go over very well with France because they're the home team. They're probably like home country. Wait a minute, here were you guys cheating with us? Seeah Ben Johnson is the big cheating scandal because that was in the one hundred meters and Carl Lewis lost. There's been a few other Olympic cheating scandals. Yes, poems, I have a couple fun ones for you. Fun not so much fun at the time. Cheating scandals seventy six.
Olympics in Montreal. This Ukrainian fencer. It was the first one of the first years they used electronics scoring where the tip yep exactly. He found a way to manipulate it and have a button on him to press the button as he was jabbing and it would count for a score. He was quickly found out and sent home from the game. Here's another one. The nineteen oh four Olympics in Saint Louis, Missouri was very hilly.
That was.
Embarrassment. The four Games.
The four Games, you were on that one in Missouri. They had the marathon and a gentleman named Fred Lewis, he's the American runner, our guy. After nine miles and it was very hilly in Saint Louis, he made a left and ended up hitching a ride for the next eleven miles. When the car broke down, he got out, started running and won the event. For about four hours. He was the marathon champion and he was embraced sent home. Here's my favorite. In the year sixty seven BC, the amateur was checking. Okay, the Roman Emperor Nero decided to enter one of the events. This was the chariot race. Now, because he is the emperor, there is he changed the rules a little bit. You're supposed to have four horses in the chariot race from the different competitors. He decided to have ten while everyone else had four.
And that's that's horsepower, right, horsepower ten horsepower credit four.
Because he's emperor, no one could complain. His chariot fell over and he did not complete the event. However, the official still declared him the winner because he was Emperor Nero and you didn't want to go to the Lions or whatever, you'd be punished with.
Yeah, okay, I love that I lost. That one doesn't get a lot of attention when Nero what he was doing, he controlled media. Oh he did back then. So I heard those are a couple. Uh, that's why they can't have North Korea host the Olympics because their emperor he's going to win every event, like he's going to say I won that, I won, that, I won that. I think he doesn't he then he play golf and have like sixteen hole in ones in one round or something. I saw it on the effect. Yeah, and nobody's going to argue because if you argue, you probably get death. Are you sure? Are you sure he had sixteen hole in ones? Yes? Should have had seventeen. What else?
Here's when East Germany in the seventy six Olympics, in the swimming event, especially the women's swimmers, they set eight world records in thirteen events, and then the previous Olympic only one swimming world record was broken.
They quickly were investigated, yes, and then they realized that those were actually women who look like men.
Correct.
Yes.
The twenty twelve Olympics in London, the badminton team one from South Korea, one from China, and one from Indonesia. They tanked games early to have a better seed or play a better team in the knockout.
Round, so you can win by losing.
Not In the twenty twelve Olympics in lone after lackluster player that drew booze from spectators where they're clearly tanking, the teams were accused of purposely trying to lose, and because it was not in the Olympic spirit, guess what they were doing, they were sent home not using the best efforts to win.
There are certain countries when you lose and you go home, Hey, get them next time. There's other countries when you lose and you go home and you're like, there won't be a next time.
Here's my favorite. I'm not going to name names here on this one. Two thousand and eight Olympics. With the equestrian, a horse and his rider were both tested by performance anything trucks. So the horse, which you would more likely to do in equestrian, some type of a It's like a spread that you put on the horse to give it. That would be the cream. Yes, yeah, it was made from chili peppers. But after the horse tested positive, the rider also tested positive for a PD, which you wouldn't think you'd need one to sit atop a horse.
But maybe he absorbed it from applying it to the cream. Maybe it got into his system.
Yeah, they had a bronze and were stripped of the metal. No comment from the horse or the rider.
Poor horse's just sitting there wanting to jump around. Hey, you giving me a rub there? Thank you?
Wait?
What is that? I feel amazingly strong? Yes, time.
But when the horse does the excuse of the unknown supplemented by smoothie thing.
Like you trotted in the g n C and just bought off the shelf. No one's believing that, No one. How about we take a break? Yeah, thank you? Break?

Quarterbacks got paid this weekend a couple more with tuatongua Ioloa. Jordan Love. I would have loved to have been with Dak Prescott. When somebody told him the news, He'd say, wait, how much you get? Wait? How much dire did he get? How much was guaranteed? Here is the Packers GM Bryan Gudekunst talking about the contract and the challenges that Jordan Love and the Packers face.
Whenever you have these big contracts. There's some challenges that we've dealt with that pretty much, you know, for the past I don't know however many years.
So that's part of it.
But I would rather be dealing with this challenge and some others, so you know, that's that'll be part of it. It'll be important that we continue to draft well and make good decisions along the way. But you know, having that position stable and a guy who we know can perform at a high level. I'll take that every day.
You know, it's a good problem to have. Okay, we got to pay our quarterback that kind of money. You found a quarterback to pay that kind of money. Everybody's looking for that. And you can tell if it's a GM, a coach, a player, if you have your quarterback or if you don't have your quarterback. And the difference in morale when you have your quarterback, all of a sudden, you can't wait to get on the field. You can't. I don't wait to play when you don't have your quarterback. It's like game. Yeah, I got ready to start. Okay, we got to go out there. All right, let's go out and let's go get him. Who's with me here? Oh, by the way, DraftKings just sent over early odds to make the college football playoffs. Early odds. There's twelve places there. I've got one, two, three, four, five. I got half of the field right here. I got six the top six best odds to make the college football playoffs. All right, I got one surprise here, maybe two surprises, but I got one surprise, all right, seton Well Georgia, Georgia, Yes, Paulie, surprise Ish Oregon. Uh no, they have the third best off, but they're on the list. Marvin, Ohio, Ohio State, Todd Texas, Texas, Alabama Nope, what nope? What got another one? Todd LSU No, Paulie, Michigan no, Marvin, miss No, no, Tredain Yes. And now the surprise, Now the surprise.
Huh are you not allowed to do horns down?
Uh? It's not Oklahoma, nobody would it be Texas? No, Texas is in there. They're in there. Let me see. Feels like every year we kind of start talking about them and then at the end of the year that we're not talking about them unless they disappointed Dallas Cowboys. That's it. They're going to make the college football playoffs. Penn State. Penn State early odds to make the college football playoffs. Penn State really and not Michigan, which is kind of surprising. Yes, I'm looking at Penn State's schedule.
When I heard you say they must have a friendly schedule this year, they got Maryland, Minnesota perdue. They do have Washington and Ohio State in the middle of the season.
Okay, where do they play them. They got at Maryland at Minnesota now where they with Ohio State and Washingsite, Ohio State at home, Washington at home? Oh okay, saw see okay, USC at USC and nothing too tough out of conference. Okay, all right, maybe they win two of those three at USC and then a home game either against Washington or the Ohio Yeah.
Yes, Martph Will James Franklin ever be on the hot seat or as long as he goes tending two ninety three he'll be?
Okay, I thought that he would be on the hot seat, but I don't know. It's kind of strange that we hype them up and then we go a Penn State, they got a big game coming up, and then all of a sudden they lose that game and then we sort of move on from them. We're waiting for them to be great at the end of the year. They just haven't been. Uh JJ and Florida, Good morning, JJ. What's on your mind today? Hey?
Quick? The Olympic crictic question for you? And then ask, okay, what's the only Olympic board in which men and women compete for the same metals chlural?
So they compete against each other yep.
You've already talked about us today. It doesn't matter of the building or a stallion.
Or a mayor okay, son woman.
In the Equestria events compete against each other for the same medals.
All right, thank you, j Jent. For some reason that was going to be my answer, even though I didn't have conviction when I was going to say that, yes, Paul is.
Mixed doubles tennis in the Olympics or not in the Olympics, because that would be one.
But I don't know if it is. I don't know if we have mixed All I know is Raten Nadal and uh Joker are going to face each other next in the Olympics. The Olympics does have mixed doubles tennis, so that would be another one then competing with and against one another. I was told about how important the Olympic medal is to Nadal and u Joker, that it is more important. Now once again this is somebody who knows them. Because I was saying, God, that got to be hard to come right out of Wimbledon. Now you go right into the Olympics, and the person who covers tennis said, trust me for Nadal and Joker to get that. It would mean everything to them. It would complete their career to have that winning those medals. Doesn't Nadal already have one Olympic medal, but this is really important to them to win the gold, you know, win a medal for their country in tennis. But I for some reason, I thought maybe Nadal had already won one.
Yes, Todd, I believe he's won two Olympic gold medals, is what I'm saying.
Okay, Yeah, so this would be for Joker extremely important. All right, update the pole results. I kind of left you along with this there, seedon. Yeah, that's okay.
I wouldn't worry too much about it. Don't lose sleep over it. Pole results. We've got up there right now. Who makes you more nervous going forward? Tua or Jordan Love right now toa at seventy three percent of the vote. Yeah, that's tough. That's tough. We're also going to put up there if you could only watch one swimming or gymnastics. Both are marquee events. Yeah, both have different sort of disciplines within that one event.
Discipline.
I don't know what else you would call it, but it seems like disciplines.
The right, thing, it sounds like an Olympic word. I would take swimming. One of them is a little bit more of a slow burn. The other one tends to be more immediate. Right.
Like swimming, you kind of have to wait while it's happening, and there's this anticipation that builds up while the race is going on. Yeah, gymnastics is sort of like did you land it or no, have to oversimplify it.
But imagine you're a swimmer in the fifty meters and that's you're into the higher four years is about that fifty meters go and then it's done in twenty seconds.
Well, that's the Usain Bolt quote, right, I trained four years to run nine seconds, Pauli.
Did the equestrian team send these medals this picture of the metals to us?
No, that's just there's been mixed reviews of the Paris medals because to describe, usually the metal is smaller size and it's clearly a gold medal, bronze and silver. These have like a gold outlay and more of a muted gray in the middle of each of them, so they're much bigger than in previous Olympics, and people are saying the bronze is not bronze. It looks like this rose gold color, yeah, and can be confused for gold. So if you're walking around the neighborhood with your bronze on, even may think you want gold, which could be a good thing.
Because when you see previous Olympics with the medals, they look like an enlarged coin. This doesn't. This looks almost like a ribbon that you would get, you'd pin on, you know, your project at four h or something.
Yeah, it has a almost like a two part system. There's like a almost you know, like when you're you put those things when you have a fancy dinner, those charger things under the plate. You know, this feels like there's something under the medal and then the medal is uh hexagon I guess.
Uh joke. Let me see. Djokovic, Uh, let's see. He won the bronze in Beijing, and he went out in the semifinals both singles and doubles in Tokyo. So this is his last chance to compete his list of honors and win a gold medal. But I was told that it was extremely important to him to be able to compete in the Olympics and win a gold medal. Uh Patrick in Arizona. Hi Patrick, what's on your.
Mind to that? Good? Good morning gentlemen. How are you guys?
Great?
So as of a month ago, I am a new member of the Dead Dad's Club, and it's taken a little while to get the call in, but I wanted to give a quick best and worst of the weekend.
Patrick. Did you get your DDC T shirt yet?
It is on order Dan, you know for to come in. We had family in over the weekend. I had to eulogize them. You know, that's obviously the tough side and the worst, but having a family here was the best. And going through our slideshow and watching the times I spent with my father. We're both diehard Arizona Cardinal fans, and it's amazing how sports can really tie together family relations. And you know, I'm a little disappointed my dad didn't get to see this coming season because we had a lot of love for what we think the Cardinals are doing this year. And I got a little bit of of a pie to the face bet with anybody willing to take it. I do believe Cardinals are going to be this year's Detroit Lions coming out of nowhere. You guys were talking about them winning no games last year. It went on to surprise over under seven and a half of the year. I think the Arizona Cardinals are playoffs contenders for this year and will make the playoffs. Do I have any tie to the face takers on that bet?
Anybody want a piece of Patrick? Obviously grieving he just lost his father. Did the Cardinals have anything to do with your father's health?
It probably drove them to it.
Okay, okay, I just want to, you know, in case they're an accomplice here. You know, anybody want a piece of Patrick's bet? He's got the Cardinals making the playoffs, making the playoffs. Tough division, tough division, niners rams, you know.
Yeah, I'll do it all right, just because he's I feel like somebody's got it.
Yeah, whoa, Okay, Todd, I'm in.
PAULI No, man, This poor guy's gonna be another loss in a couple of months.
He loses this, all right, You got three takers? Patrick?
Love it?
Guys, all right, have a wonderful year. We'll talk to you guys later.
Thank you, bun, thank you. Four and thirteen said win in the conference is what He's saying, yeah, yeah, Okay, it happens every year. There's you know a couple outliers where you go, wow, that's a grief talking right there. Yes, that is yes, like he's he's trying to wish this to happen for his dad. All right, got three takers there, Todd, Seaton, Marvin pie to the face, Uh, Fritzie and I do have a wedding cake to the face. And that has to do with Travis Kelcey and Taylor Swift that they will get engaged. I don't know what the time frame was for that. Was it forever that they're going to get engaged?
We have agree to that forever and no time frame.
No, there has to be a time frame.
That sounds about right to me.
How about a year from today, a year from the start of next season that they're engaged. Wedding cake to the face for the loser.
How about by next Valentine's Day m Febru fourteen, twenty twenty five, right, I mean super Bowl?
I mean maybe right after winning another Super Bowl that I'm gonna then I got. I got till next year. At the start of the season.
Todd given Travis a lot of time to get on his knee.
Yeah, well they're in love. They're in love. He clearly embraced being her boyfriend. Do guys still do the knee? Marvin? Did you get down on one knee?
I did not?
Todd? Did you I did? Could you get back up?
That was tough? Was I was at the airport for a couple of security guys that lift me up?
There? Hey little help? I mean, no thing is more romantic than baggage claim at the Air Force.
That's what it was.
Yeah, red Eye, Hey honey, you want some more baggage? You got it right here. When I think a Carousel five, I think, are you baby? We'll always have Carousel five, will always have Delta? Well always, yes, Todd, it's.
Hard to feel sorry for Travil Kelsey and nothing. He's looking for sympathy when he talks about how what a whirlwind year and it was exhausting and what football took out of him, and traveling all around the world to beat all the concerts for t sweet.
So was he complaining?
It came across to me like, I don't know.
I thought he was explaining it's a very tough ye And maybe he was talking about just how strenuous. It must be for his girlfriend. I don't know. Is he already making excuses?
It takes so many hits and I'm not getting a younger and to travel all over the world first class to see the most famous person in the world performed happens to be my girlfriend. I don't know how I did it. I got a way to do it.
It's funny. When I read it, I thought it was more about how he's played extra games because their team does so well, and it was a lot less about his first class accommodations traveling. It was barely even a mention, but more about how you know, we play We go deep into the playoffs every year, so our season is much longer. I take a lot of extra hits just based on the number of repstod.
Did you read the article?
Ill to jump on that. How sad for Travis that he's got to play these extra games and play for super Bowls because everyone gets a chance to play for the Super Bowl and win multiple rings. So just I'm glad he was able to get through those extra games so that he can play for championship when most players don't get it and get into the playoffs ever, But he got through it. That's good.
Did you ever hear the story about Rob Gronkowski after they won the Super Bowl and he couldn't get out of bed for a week because he was bleeding internally? Yes, I was asking Todd. Sorry, Oh, I am aware, you're not a.
Bleeding internally is different than just you know, I don't know, my knees a little tight or my back.
Yes.
Travis Kelsey in the interview was and the discussion was asked about coming back at this age. He said, last year was pretty ten. Actually, my body more snaps than a lot of guys. I not everybody in the NFL. I don't come off the field blah blah blah. H. We play a lot more games over the past few years because of the playoffs, not complaining, so I just had to focus on getting the rest as I can miss.
Taylor Swift mentioned in this not once, okay.
And nothing about his grueling off season.
Yeah, I don't. I didn't think that would be grueling for him, flying flying a private and uh, you know, it's not like he's waiting in line for tickets or anything. And he is playing more games. I mean, we do talk about Lebron and the wear and tear on his body and that he's played a couple extra seasons because of that. Why are you buzz killed today about you know, Travis Kelson?
Bus I read it differently, or I read a different article about it. Sounded like I was just, you know, traveling all over the place. I thought that was mentioned in that I read.
Did you read it? I skimmed it, and.
I skimmed enough that mad it sound like it's just been a very busy year with all over the place in football.
And by the.
Way to how's your elbow feeling?
My elbow is still tight from the wiffleball.
You'll kind of time from swinging the whiffleball bat for two days.
Yeah, and you're questioning Travis Kelsey you got hurt? You got Yeah, I'm not questioning that he's heard. Well, yeah, I'm not calling.
A press conference doing a one on one interview with the press about my wiffleball.
He didn't. He didn't call the press conference.
Well, how did this happen? They didn't have to talk about it at all.
He's a camp. They they're training camp. There's media availability.
I feel fine, thanks, next question. Everything's good, no excuses, I feel good. I'm ready for another season.
You got hurt playing whiffle bawl. You got hurt swinging the bad.
I hyper extended my elbow a little bit enough to not be able to play for.
A long I think you owe Travis Kelsey. I think you do.
Very taxing, very taxing night.
Last call for phone calls. What we learned once in store tomorrow. We're back after this.

I got a lot of them, A lot of swimming medals around two thirty pm Eastern, and they'll be replayed later at night. But four hun I am. There's seven different Olympic medals in swimming, disciplines, discipline, gymnastics, men's team final, skateboarding, men's team final, canoe final, archery men's team gold. Today I got a questrian.
What is dossage checking. Okay, then a lot of do our shot putters? Where did when? When does crowser go? Week two is all tracking funds? Okay, Oh I should note this. I should do it some boxing later day. And bad minton minton. Yeah, it's like Wambleton and Wembledon. People make that mistake bad minton.
A lot of beach volleyball today, I say bad minton.
Yeah I do too. Yeah. Yeah, and then once every four years you gotta apologize. Yeah, I liked beach volleyball. It was great. And then former NBA was he a slam dunk contest winner Chase Buttinger. I think he was a participant, Okay, yep, yeah, he made made about twenty million dollars in the NBA and now he's beach volleyball.
The people I hate like, oh, let me go. Maybe really good at another professional. Yeah he didn't everything.
Yeah, he was in the NBA for like a minute. He was like ahead a seven year, eight year career.
He went to Arizona. Yeah, yeah, nice career. Yeah he could jump a little bit. He had some hops. As the kids like, would you rather be a bench NBA player or a star beach vollar or world famous. If I could be Karch Karai.
Steve Timmins or Donald Foyle, A Donaldfoyle cut, didn't it?
Donald Foyle? Do you go to Colgate? Big read Steve Timmins. Good for you, big red, great career? Though? I think didn't he have a like a volleyball gear called side out?
Does that some?
Yeah? And I think there's a movie called that with see Thomas Howell. Oh side Out? Okay? Would you rather be that guy? What was his name? Dollhauser? The beach Oh? Yeah, you've had him on the beach behind. If I was cartch Karai or a Donald Foyle, I think I'd rather be. Nobody is doing this, nobody's asking this question. Yes, I was just thinking. Uh. Dave in Indiana, Hi, Dave, what's on your mind? Greetings Dan?
Hi?
Okay, I have a question about Todd. I called a couple of weeks ago.
I got a few questions.
All right, Uh so is Todd playing a character when he's on air?
But is that how he is.
In real life?
I will say this once again, that is Todd. There is no character. Todd has no character. Wait, that's not right.
It means bird.
Yeah, it is. That is that is who Todd is.
You got a compliment or I don't know what the color is getting at. Is that a good thing?
Or I don't think it's a compliment, And I'm playing some kind of strange role. I will say that when the microphone goes off, the lights are turned off, Todd is Todd. There is no separation whatsoever. Well, everybody's like that, this succetin is, That's who PAULI is, Marv me. But yeah, Todd is unique, and I knew that there was uniqueness there. I just didn't know if it was going to translate when I put him on the show, because and I'm not sure if it still works, if it even works now, but I'm still working on that. We're work shopping then. But I knew that he was unique. There's no one like Todd in this business. Radio hoster trying to find somebody who has this uniqueness to them and somebody who is, you know, crappy singer and a crappy, you know, stand up comedian, but you know, good team player. He comes in every day and he's ready to help, sometimes to the detriment of the show, but you are always ready to help. I appreciate that Okay, Yeah, this is real. And that's kind of the scary part too. When I tell people that they're like Todd, Todd can't be like that. I go, yes, that that's that's who Todd is.
Yes, I was waiting for the quo to sake because if he's playing a role, he should find another role. That one's not studior.
No, only positives today, Todd Earl in California, Hey, earl, what's on your mind? Day?
I thought we'd switch from boat talk to truck talk. One in particular by the name of Ilona Maher on the US, say rugby team, This lady is the latining I know. On the other country, you got checker. And if hey, if the paint hasn't dried, I suggest you consider the other ship as a boat named Thanks all.
Right, thank you, said of the mothership the other ship, I'd have to get another ship that it would be the other ship. Other's Day.
In sports history, seventeen fifty four, the first international boxing match was held. Jack Slack of Britain beat knocked out Jean Petite of France.
Wait, are you sure that that was fifty four? Not fifty one? I got seventeen fifty four but I'll double check. Okay, I have seventeen fifty one the first world title price. I'm all over this.
Eighteen seventy four question Mark Major, Walter Copton Winfield of England got the US patent for a lawn tennis court. Here's one. John Sigmund nineteen forty of Saint Louis, Missouri completed a two ninety two miles swim down the Mississippi River. Took him eighty nine hours, says do you take breaks? And then Bill Miller he spelled at Mueller. Very weird Bill Miller. The Boston Red Sox hit grand slams from both sides of the plate in a single game.
Yeah it's spelled Mueller pronounced Miller. Very upsetting. What we learn brought to you by tire rack dot com, the official tire expert of the Dan Patrick Show. Go to tirec dot com.
