For as long as the Oscars have existed, people have campaigned to win them. Back in 1929, when Mary Pickford was nominated for best Actress at the second-ever Academy Awards, she invited the voting committee - then just five people - over to her house for tea. And won. In today’s episode, we’ll unpack the history of Oscar campaigning, and explain why frontrunner Timothee Chalamet has been making headlines.
Hosts: Lucy Tassell and Emma Gillespie
