Headlines: Royal commission on antisemitism begins

A former NRL star was shot outside his home in Sydney's south-west last week. Police say the ambush centred around the victim’s son’s alleged ties to organised crime. In the days since, a gang war has continued to escalate on the ground in Sydney,  but investigators say it's being coordinated by crime bosses from abroad. Today, we’ll explain the shooting behind this intensifying violence and the accusations against two international crime rings.
