Peter Goers Reveals the Tragedy Behind His Most Personal Show Yet | Court of Public Opinion
Adelaide writer and performer Peter Goers joins Jeremy Cordeaux to talk about In the Air of an Afternoon Almost Past, his new one-person show based on his second book about the deaths of his parents in a plane crash in New Orleans in 1982. He describes being sent to America at 25 and why he calls the show a tribute to his parents, told with a wry humour.
Peter also explains why he believes grief has become the theme of our times, shares a moving story of a grieving corella at Naracoorte, and joins Jeremy in asking where Australia's great ratbags have gone, from Prince Leonard of Hutt River to Bea Miles. The show plays five performances at Star Theatres from 23 to 31 October.
This interview aired live on The Court of Public Opinion on Friday 16 October 2026.
