Hailing from Gerringong, Rod Wishart became the Steelers first ever international and the highest point scorer for Illawarra. A goal kicking winger with the strength of a forward, he became one of NSW's greatest ever players, having worn the sky blue jersey on 22 occasions, and represented his country 18 times.
