Hailing from Scone, speedster Darren Albert scored one of the most memorable tries in grand final history. In the 1997 decider, the Knights and the Sea Eagles were locked up at 16-16. With 7 seconds to go, Andrew Johns went down a narrow blind-side before slipping a pass to Albert who raced over to score. What followed was euphoria for the town of Newcastle.
