What a victory under Lorrie Daily.

And I'll take a one nil lead the Perth when they can claim the shield again.

And it was great to see the Blues coach Lourie Daily all smiles on Wednesday night.

I'm delighted to say he's on the line right now. Laurie. Congratulations to you.

Yeah, thanks very much.

Mark. It was a good first half performance, but you take any win once you get up there in Quinbey.

A few things to tidy up, you know, especially in that second half. But Jill, you must have been happy with some signs, especially some of the performance as individuals. Paying half Zach Lomax, Isaiah Yo, there are a few standouts out there for the Blues.

Yeah, it was, and in particular you mentioned pain like pain didn't train at all during the week and you know we're unsure of whether he'd play or not, but he you know, day before the game he said he was right to go, so well done to the medical stuff.

They got him right.

So coming off of preparation to play fifty eight minutes and to play the way he did was you know, just a credit to him. And then Zach Lomax of course has only had one game back too from a broken foot, but he was able to put in a terrific effort. It's got to be better for game two as well.

Well.

I thought, all youman, it was absolutely outstanding. Obviously paying halfs me in the match, but miss Barnett for me was a little bit of long sung hero, particularly in the first half. And isaiaho, he look he's done as a bit of a ballplayer lock, but he sort of put the ballplan on away particular in the first half, just played like an extra middle.

I thought he was great as well.

Yeah, we sort of challenged the forwards a little bit gal just to be sort of playing straight and just to be sort of go out there and try and establish some dominance in the middle of the field. Sometimes when you get to an origin game, I know it's not everyone's cup or two, but you know, we didn't look to move the ball. We just wanted to make sure we got into the contest early and found our way and found our rhythm, and then sort of we were hoping that the game would open up a little bit, but they started strongly and that was something that we spoke about. And you're right, Barney was terrific and Isaiah looked to run first instead of passing, and I thought he was a great captain's knock.

I actually wanted to ask you something quite similar was about, and it was about Yo's running game, but then also the trickle on effect. I thought we saw Cleary running a lot too, which was dangerous, but it wasn't that usual Penris style of footy.

It was a bit different.

Was that the plan as well, Like Cleary taking into consideration go into that game.

One, it was not so much not a Penrith plan, but it was more about the way we wanted to play. And we've been to you know, lank Park before and you know it doesn't matter how you get a victory. Any victory up there is going to be tough and you can look pretty, but you can't come away with.

The points of time. So we just had to grind it out. We had to be tough and courageous. I thought we did that.

Yeah, but looking back on the second half, we defended our line really well and I think we can get a lot better than what we were in Game one.

Larry, were your former captain.

Paul Gallon's made some big statements today on this show which you may or may not be happy with. One as he said Queensland is and how soft in general? Did you say that that's the crowd? And then he said the Queensland players are now scared of Spencer LINI do you think they are?

Look? I love goal. I'm not going to enter into that debate.

Okay, I don't expect you, but I just want you to know no, no, no, no, no, I love you. I just text Billy and told him.

Yeah, he replied, he loves me.

I think it was. It was a good tough game of footing.

And as I said before, anytime you go up to Coins there to win, I mean, you know, history suggests that it was always going to be a tough battle because it was the first time.

We've won back to back games here in twenty seven years.

So you know that's a that's a We now won three in a row, which is a pretty good effort and not under but I mean I won the last two last year and this one.

Yeah.

No, they're a pretty a special group.

But as we spoke about after the game, you've got to enjoy little milestones, but you can't get well, you can't take your mind away from what you need to do, and that's to win the series. So we've got two more games that we need to be a lot better in than what we.

Were in game one.

And we all know that Coinsland, where they've been pasting the face, they come back again. So yeah, it's not over by a long stretch, and will need to be better in game two.

But I was really pleased for Mack King when he got on because he was sort of probably a little bit of a surprise selection. And you know, I think he was surprised he made the side, but I thought he was certainly was there a place in that caliber of football?

Was he No?

I think he style of foot he really suits it.

You know, he's not the flashiest, flashiest of players, but what he does is very selfless.

Like you look at his lines, bured do you look at the.

Way he holds the middle together, Look at when he makes a tackle, he gets back into the line, works hard from mark, does his job with the ball, He's always there in a kick chase, and all the little efforts that you talk about being origin players, that's what Max brings to a footy team. So we wanted to include him, including based.

On what we thought the game was going to be like and what he could provide for the team.

All Right, what did you what did you take from the build up and the past game? Los? Can you give? Can you hear the listeners?

Just finally a bit of an idea of how full on it is because there's a lot of media, there's a lot of commitments, you're still doing interviews made it.

It must take it out of here.

Yeah, it does.

I'm still recovering today, to be perfectly honestly, just been lying on the lounde.

I slept for probably fourteen hours on Thursday.

What is that unusual for someone to do that?

Yeah, Now it's a funny one because you do, you get drained of all your energy and you've got to build yourself back up again. But I can't my head off to the players that have played this weekend and the players have played last night, because you know the amount of energy and effort they put into the game and what we do as coaches where fatigue, I can only imagine how they ere fatigue mentally and physically as well. So yeah, they're brave, they're tough, and well dounder them for backing up this weekend.

I reckon in between in particularly sorry mentally, I mean physically, it's one of the hardest environments you can play in, but when you don't win that game, it is so mentally draining. And four home to back up last night, it would big effort by the young men. I'll give a queen's enter right there. I thought you'd done well.

I agree.

I think it's it's so hard and the amount of emotion that goes into a contest like an Origin game. It's not like an NRL game. It's like a Grand Final, and you know, to come back two days later and in the conditions that they were.

In last night.

You know, the players going to play today and they'll be stiff and sore, but they know the importance of playing well for their clubs and the clubs help them get to where they are. So it's a responsibility of theirs to go back and play well and show those players in their team that the team colors mean something to them as well, not only playing and representing New South Wales of Pointsland, but the club is so important.

Hey, Los just quickly.

Did any of the boys in particular, obviously Nathan and Zach Lomax say anything about the footy because Joey was going on about it during the match.

He thought that it was a little bit off.

Obviously he missed all four conversions, but a genuine question because Joey missed him at the end of the game, he wanted to chat to Nathan Cleary. Was there anything different about the Stephen?

Yeah, I'm unsure, but it does seem unusual that there was a lot of goal kicks missed, doesn't it, you know, like when they're really good kickers. I think Nathan was kicking it ninety two percent leading into the origin. Zach's a dead eye dick as well, with the way that he kicks. He missed one.

I think Val missed one as well.

So Joey said during the call it sounded different. He's pretty in tune with stuff like that too.

Yeah.

I was going to say he knows more about it than what I would. And I think there was some chatter in it around the ball, but I'm unsure.

Of what it was or how they felt.

But at the end of the day, I know that they were disappointed that they missed those kicks, and I'll put the effort in leading into Game two.

All Right, Lurie, thanks for the chat mate, get back on the races. I'm sure you're trying to find a few winners.

Well, have you got anything for me, mate?

I was going to back a thing in Melbourne today, Jimmy the Bear, but I haven't had a look that. There was no money for it yesterday, going to look that's a single that's a singer of the place. Yeah, we go down to the orang and.

But if we're gett anything, I'll saying through and.

We'll do the same.

Thank you, Larry, well done on the win on Wednesday night, say thank you there is Larry Darley
