Let's welcome in the continuous call team on this beautiful Winters Sunday afternoon. Darryl Brohman's back with some more goal today, big man. Good afternoon, two.
Yes, I've got a lot of good stuff today.
One one.
Good afternoon to u MG and Piggy. What a great days rugby league yesterday. Can you believe this? Penrith are now sixth Like three weeks ago they were last. Well I stand by I still don't think they cared now playing well enough anyway, they played good yesterday, but rugby league is the winner. I mean there were two upsets, one near upset. The Bunnies were so close to beating the Storm. What a good performance it was from them last night. Latrell had that shot at a field goal just before the end and it was perilously close it was, and it was a great King Chizy's good player and the Knights somehow beat the Dolphins. It was a great performance from them, and the Panthers probably the highlight really when he considered they rested their five State of Origin players and they probably had other players out injured as well.
Beat the Warriors.
It didn't I don't think they had origin players either, but Penrith had five out and the last time penw are in that situation they got absolutely smashed by Newcastle and I heard their captain Mitch Kenny talk after the game about it, so that obviously stung them because they mentioned it after the game straight away, saying they were all disappointed with what they dished up at Bathurst a few weeks ago and they didn't want to do that again in New Zealand, and they didn't. They were really good. It's a great competition we have. How would you know what's going to happen today, But we're going to be here and you know what, we're going to be reporting on it as it happens.
Big day for you as well, big man. Yes, it is my birthday. Birthday, Yes, thank you. Sixty nine today. What a great number. And I and you I'm on it sixty nine, which is different. You know what I must have been. I never thought i'd be sixty nine and the day has come and what do you think I celebrated it with breakfast.
That's all. That's it for you. Well, you have brought about your birthday. You had birthday, ye forty three years old yesterday. So you know what, I didn't think I would make forty three.
Well you know sometimes well, based on your performance, sometimes I'm wonder how you did it as well. But you know what, when you get to forty three, you wouldn't you wouldn't think you're going to get the sixty.
Nine Iah, we'll get there. You'll get because you're good at what you do.
Very good. Are you finished? Lew Yes, Mark figure Adell. Good afternoon to you on this beautiful Sunday. Good afternoon, Money, and happy birthday to you mate for your birthday yesterday.
Good afternoon to you big Man.
Happy birthday to you for today sixty nine years of age, and good morning to a good afternoon to MG as well.
I didn't want you to feel left out there MG, with.
Two birthday boys either Siety on the on the panel to day. But yeah, what about that footy last night? I got to say I couldn't believe it. When the Panthers, they did a great job to get over the top of the Warriors. The boys have already mentioned number of players they had out and now the the position that they're in, they give themselves an opportunity.
So that's going to be interesting.
Just to see how that pans out over the next Well, the run in off the back of Origin once we get through Origin three, just where the Panthers can actually put themselves if they can in.
That top eight. Congratulations of the Knights.
Well, what about the tipping like I'm down the bottom anyway, Like I'm down the bottom anyway, I'm hopeless.
But sorry, where are you coming? I think it's a second Well, I said down the bottom. You didn't have to. You didn't have to. Like last I don't know, I don't know. Yeah it is. Andrew Maynard needs to talk sometimes.
But even like with the Dolphins, like off the back of the last month of football that they've had and how good they've been. Yeah, and they got they were just weren't good enough. And the nights, jeez, they were, they were. They were handy, weren't they.
And I just want to send the best wishes out to Jack Bostock. Yes, he's he's from down our way.
He's a shell Harbors Sting Ray And I got to say, like you look at the influenced players have, and you know, I've got two young boys.
They love him.
They love the fact that he's from the same local footing club even though he plays for the Dolphins. They were they were heartbroken yesterday when they saw him come off the field, and then to find out that it looks like it's potentially an ACL.
So I just want to wish Jack and all the best in his recovery. It's it's a terrible when you see those situations where players go down like that, and you know a lot of times it is that acl and it looks that way for him. But all in all, looking forward to today, big game today.
Can't wait one he We're already, We're sorry, We've already got some great stuff as well.
We do the first gupt for a second MJ. Good afternoon to you, my friend, Good afternoon to you boys.
Happy birthday Darryl for today, Happy birthday, one E for yesterday, Thank you, Good luck to your nurl W team playing as we speak at like hard able MJ.
They go, well, buddy, thanks mane.
Look today, before we get into the footy, one of the finest groups of people will be represented today in this.
Emergency servers the games today.
I read into the captain or the coach of the police team as I walked in and they said, it's a great recognition for a great bunch of people today. The police force, the ambulance, Police Rescue, Rural Fire Service, Life Saving Marine Rescue r v r SU and the State Emergency Service will all be represented today and what a what a job they do for us. They are fantastic and I can't. I'm glad I'm here as part of the first time I've been here to this stadium, and what a stadium allounce.
It's amazing. What what I mean?
You working on rival radio station which apparently won the ratings, would have been here before. I say, you're saying what was in the paper today might have been.
Should be in the fiction section.
I don't know. I didn't read the paper, so I did mind you didn't get delivered.
I didn't miss it.
So this was I came here a couple of years ago with that said radio station and done a bit of a promo. But I done for a game or a concert or anything like that. My kids are early for concerts. So what do you think of it?
I love it? Beautiful. It took a while to get here.
It was a It was about parking any grammars.
Look, okay, let's go to the quickly run through the footing.
I thought the Raiders won a game that they would have lost last year on Friday Night, and uh, this is their best start to all season since they won the comback in nineteen ninety four. Look for the Tigers, Latu f who looks very, very very good. He could be a light and shining arm for them this year. Panthers, I think was that that was their best win of the season.
Without Cleary Toe. You know, Martin and Edwards.
You mentioned that Batist game that Mitch Kenny spoke about big minute.
That was the line in the scene. That was their turning point.
I think of the would have hurt them because they got they got a fast Castley beat them too.
The nights here they look they just just when you think they're down and out in that Adam Bryan's on his last league, they win games.
I've got one word for you, what Bradman best best? They were all back last night.
Brazille was back, he was back, Punger backed up, which was a big shot in the arm for them. And yeah, okay, your thoughts on Boss Stock Piggy. He's a real celebrity of our game at the moment, plays the game with a smile on his face.
And to see a young kid.
Get down with an ac L injury, you know, halfway through the season, is shocking.
So with all the best of his.
Family and friends and and aj last night four tries against the Mighty Storm, he gave to the Childred and six six short of a record that we never thought in my life on anyway that I'd see someone beat. And he signed again for next year for the Rabbito, so you know he's going to beat it. So that was just amazing Pappy with the winning field goal and golden point. Look when they're all firing this Rabbits, when they've got all their their players back, they are a definite eight team.
They're also they could be a top four team when they're all on.
When if Cam.
Murray somehow gets it, well am I writing saying he's had a line through him through.
The year's come back. He's coming back.
So if he comes back at round and say twenty one, twenty two, twenty three and this team is in the eight, I don't know this. Latral last night was really really good. After Origin. I thought Klama Tangy was Wow. If he doesn't make it, if he's on in Origin, know what what what he's been good or he's an Origin player. He is an Origin player. They thought he lost a little bit of weight early, but.
He might have, but that's then he's what he's done now he's learned.
To play with that new body he's adapted with that body. Yes, and he's playing front row for forty minutes through the middle in't he?
Yeah?
Great? Just his work rate is amazing, isn't it.
It's not just one of them. You know, two hit ups in this set six, I get me stats up. Yeah, that's every run he runs with purpose, every tackle.
He's a really good player like him.
Makes the hard hit ups as well, doesn't he? Those ones coming out of your line. You'll love this one, MG as well. Five dollars junior tickets, Ah, bravo, five dollars. So we should get a pretty good credit out here, you would have to think. And we're out here for the emergency services. We're just saying a little bit of a dress rehearsal and had a little bit of a dress rehearsal. There's plenty of guys out here. We were asking the question though, I asked Darryl, what happens if there is an emergency. We've got a lot of people out there.
I think we will equipped well adapt to handle it because there's a lot of boys and girls here.
There's a lot of ladies involved in it as well. So it's fantastic.
It's a great day and it's a great recognition for what they do. And you know, you name them all there just about all the different you know, parts of emergency services. It's it's a big operation and congratulations to each and every one of them.
Well you see all the It was great turning up today and seeing out the front there all the fire trucks and all the emergency services. There was one bit I didn't like.
I'm pretty sure there was an emergency services car parked in our area in.
One of the car spots. And I hate to bring this up.
First time we parked in a Corps stadium, we get a parking area, you know, I get four four parks now, and it's really important when you're parking in those places because they're like paramount.
The car parks are just like gold. They're like gold. You're supposed to park in the car park where your number where you're like, oh yeah, of course we have a member of our team, what normal people who's still remarkably with us. The last time we're a core parked in the incorrect car park. So that just as a constantina effect around the whole are of course domino effect, Domino effect same inbo today as parked on the wrong.
It's becoming Yeah, that's our technical Harsh, here's a good bloke. He's out eating on a subway here or whatever he's eating.
Can I can I sort of elaborate, please do on the subject of the car parker's the problem.
I actually rang you just to sort of give you the lay of the land. Sure. Yeah, when you arrived that he still had a spot. Big man still had a spot.
Because I saw what had happened and what had taken place, I came here and then I suggested to Harsh that he may have possibly parked in the wrong car park.
Again, it's not hard. I got a lot of backlash. I'm going to say that from him. No I parked in the right spot. I've checked. No, you didn't.
You've parked in the wrong one. No, I parked in seventeen anyway, So I got the map out. I said where'd you park?
And he showed me. I said, that's fourteen A possible.
Doesn't understand numbers except what he's putting possible. Yeah.
See, no apology, No, no apology. No, he's still he was adaman, he was still.
He said, how do you.
Start laughing? EMG We'll get to what you did in the car park out here, but we might take our first break. Guys, we've got to get to a special guest Grant Anderson after the storm Clayton a golden point win over the rabbit Os last night. We are the continuous call team one three one eight seven three is the open line number two g B dot com. Click onto the feedback icon if you would like to join us. Tip he's got in contact with us. Happy birthday to you from our love.
Thanks he does send a lot of missus thank you appreciate it, she does.
And one iron. If there's anyone driving near the DFO at Homebush, don't all roads are a nightmare?
Imagine coming in there.
He hated. He gets stuck there at Home Bush coming to a corps and he did not like the parking, the wrongs, but didn't well. Last night, guys, the storm prevailed in a golden point thriller twenty five twenty four over the rabbit O's at a Court stadium. Ryan Pappenhausen was the hero, kicking the match winning field goal in the eighty third minute. He's how that played out.
He's three meters out pappen House and in position again Harry Grant. He gets cut off. Grant tries to take on the defense. He gets near the triline, only stopped fourth tackle Melbourne right underneath the posts.
Pappen house and now Promarta crime. Pappy's kicked at Melbourne winning golden point. It is a great escape for Craig Bellamy's men. What a great game that was. One man who was impressive for the Storm was their winger Grant Anderson, and I'm place to say he joins us on the line right now, Grant, afternoon to you mate, Yeah we're good. Well it was a lot closer than you would have liked, but you've got the all important victory in the end.
Yeah, it was a bit of a title one last night, but just happing to get the two points.
Hey Grant mate, the start of the game, you go bang bang really quickly, Harry Grant.
He went over quite easily, I got to.
Say, from dummy half and then Jerome picked up that kickback on the inside and score.
You're up so quickly, so early in the match.
Like was there a little bit of complacency or that's just how the game went.
I think it was a bit on us as individuals there's a couple of mistakes there after that start that put us on the back foot. And Rabbitos are a quality side of quality players, so when you give them the footy, they're going to burn you. At one stage, stage.
Mate coach Bellamy, he's got an amazing record against Wayne Bennett and you being a winger, I'm not sure whether you get an opportunity to look at the screen very often. Do you happen to notice that he blowing up all the time and the just pocked up you'd like stuff up?
Basically, Oh yeah, you kind of know what's going to happen.
What happens at halftime when you sort of all meekly wandering after leading twelve mil or whatever it was and then I don't know what it was halftime, might have been twelve all or something like that.
But what happens at half time when you go in there you're all thinking, on, here we go.
No, I wasn't that kind of feeling. I was, We're pretty happy with how we're going. But like I said, there was a couple couple of moments that we didn't we didn't execute, I guess, and that just puts us in that situation. Half time, but no, we had full confidence head out in the second half. Yet the job done and.
Obviously Melburne, I've got a star started back line. This year I think has been one of your probably the best season I've seen you play. You look like you've built yourself up with it, maybe three or four extra kilos. You're finding the triline more often, your line breaks. You had three tackle breaks last night. You read the childred and seven meters, scored a try, twenty four runs one try a sist. Your your overall performances are starting to be a lot more pure on the footy field. Is there something you worked on in the off season to get your game to this level?
Mate?
Uh?
Yeah, like you said, I just when I came in, I was a bit raw, never been in a rural system before. So now I've got me two seat underneath me and the they run that moment have helped me a lot. And you just give me a lot of confidence go out there and do my job.
And you got a pretty good record. I'll just look at you. You're born in Belmont, so I thought you were a Queensland what's going on there?
No? In New South Wales. Yeah, don't let him change. Oh go a bitch of wish you was born in Queens. It's good.
Twenty two tries in thirty six games, it's a pretty good, great effort, you know, two out of three is pretty good.
Yeah, that's not too bad when you have to play outside the quality players I get too, so it's pretty fun out there.
Do you get a chance to talk to the other opposition winger Alex Johnston, Yes, I'm sure you're aware of his situation. He's only a few short of becoming the greatest all time try scorer in the history of the game, and he managed to pile four on yesterday.
It was phenomenal.
It was phenomenal watching from him because some of the ones he was just he cops some beautiful stuff from Latrell min who just threw you know, three cutout passes on his chest and he got on the outside of his oparton. But then he took an intercept as well. It was an incredible performance from him.
Yeah.
Yeah, he's a quality winger, has been one of the good winning in his for his whole life. Really really, you can find the trial and that's for sure.
Yeah. Beautiful. Well, congratulations Grant on a massive win. Last night. You got the Sharks next week at home on Sunday at two pm. But thanks for your time on this Sunday.
There's nowhere listens having me.
Thanks buddy A good player, isn't he getting better? Better? Yeah?
Yeah, I just you know, like I like our guests to feel at home. Straight away, I got straight in the nickname. Yeah, it's well it is now.
To say j A.
Well we we should have asked him what you did name mine's big man.
It was this big used to be used to be called.
There's no question, MG, just why you got your back to me? There you've been split. Yeah, back of your.
Head my bit of you know, some bloke in the traffic wasn't there.
You're bleeding? No.
I shaved myself this morning and Nick, I just probably shaved a little bit closer.
Is it hard to shave like head at the back?
I didn't even know it was aarontil. I was walking out this morning and Mergs, my wife said, baby, you've got a bit of blod in the back of your head.
And I said, now must nick shaving?
And I shaved it once a week and today was today, And yeah, I didn't feel until.
Would you you know what Piggy would do if he was in that situation, because he quite often showers together with his wife.
Ye. Would you consider inviting Megs into.
The course, of course, Yeah, of course babies are as.
Please, there would be I think beneficial. Romantic may not be mad, but I'm not sure about that, but it could be beneficial for both.
Well, it's time consuming a bit longer than it's probably got.
Look big while you're in here, Champion, we made.
Very hard.
We haven't got a lock on your metric. Had five kids?
Yeah, one three, one, eight seventy three is the open line number. We will take a break and be back with plenty more. This is the continual school team. Yes, welcome back to ali Ant Stadium. We're here for the Roosters and Cowboys kicking off at four o'clock this afternoon. MG, you almost didn't make it here this morning. We had to send out a search warrant for you. A lot of dramas getting into the car park today.
As I said earlier, it's the first time I been here, so I you know, a long time ago since I've I played here, obviously, but in the new configuration, I haven't been here as a commentary role. So I've got the instructions to park somewhere in.
Rocked Down. That's where drama is the walk. I'm going to do it from the shoulder you packed. We parked at the entertainment court.
We parked the entertainment quarter.
So we're not like you guys. We don't get the good part made. I've parked the entertainment Quarter the majority of times.
We'll put its way.
My watch sometimes it says to me, do you want to record your walking?
Yet?
If you walked more than twenty minutes you work out so it is, come on about twenty one.
Minutes from that's how far in the still coming?
Yeah, I'm twenty bits woke in the car park, had your heart rate on there and everything.
Ten minutes mate, okay.
And just tosses it up.
Mate. Andrew said to me this morning it was just around the corner. Yeah yeah, so long way, long way.
The other thing is I'd like to ask Andrew, and I know he doesn't he can't speak, but on here, how many phone calls do you.
Receive from the new lots, the various members that he started he started with me at a quarter to ten, how many from money did we get Yeah, I got to come through Darryl N and I didn't. Darryl and I were communicating together. I was helping the big man through this morning.
I knew your car park was near mine, but I couldn't work it out.
Well, you guys have been here for a long time. Why is it so hard at the moment? Is it because of them? I've only been here twice. Parked underneath once it was pretty easy. Okay.
At this time I had to park underneath the SCG, which I did.
Which it's easy as a busy day to course the emergency services.
I think, well, there's no car park either. That's getting all built and redone and everything. So once the car park's redone, we shouldn't have too many part.
Because I did walk a fair bit of this, this new stadium. There's a lot of work going into building a stadium. Yeah, there's so much infrastructure and stuff, isn't there. I was looking for a toilet. I couldn't find a toilet. They need to put more toilet in the zero level. I reckon, what do you think down.
The bottom level? Zero? Well, I thought it was it was an se level. Remember when you come out of the elevator. I took a phone arm where I did where I parked. You did look sweet last week? We could see the s look. He took a photo of the s C on the so he knew where he was. Well, I knew Wright Park. That's where I parked.
And then once I got underneath, I didn't know I should go left or right because I walked out on Actually I walked out onto the ground. That'd look around, and I still didn't know whether we were all there's the tunnel, the sun, what tunnel, the tunnel?
Anything? Well, the sun.
You can usually see what side of the field you're on if the sun's shining over there.
Obviously we're on the west.
A good point is that right, what's that Blake stam and he did all this. We'll get the blake and did all the exploring in the bush.
Be grills angled. That'll be still with us. I don't think he is. Yeah, he was pretty old back in the day. I'm not sure if he is. Let's just ask if we've got any of the Mangle family listening.
Albi mngol.
Yeah, everybody wanted to be on that boat of his, didn't They didn't They with the dog.
His girlfriend. Didn't the girlfriend.
Back in the day, back in his girlfriend Lucky.
Of the Century? How I down Albi Mangle Beauty beauty? He was, well, he was the original, wasn't he adventure? He was?
He and Malcolm Douglas.
Malcolm Douglas another one. Probably Malcolm Douglas would have been there. Alby Mangles and his wife, Albi Mangles had I remember he had a movie. I went and saw him at the really Alby Mangles had a movie that came out. What was it called?
Judy Green was his partner. That's a name, Judy Green. She was one of the models on Sale of the Century.
Was it Judy Green? I'm pretty sure it.
Was also a guy I remember, the bush tucker Man. Bush Tucker Man. He was a sad you know, berries in his hat and he used to put like sheets of plastic over the trees they sweat and get the water. How clever was.
The best on the Leyland Brothers all over the countryside.
Brother even had a big think.
I felt I felt like one of the Layland Brothers trying to get here today.
But I parked the car. What do we say? It was like orientation, we need to leave, like ribbons and things on our les, and so we know how to get back.
Are three people we need to go to the tracker? I said, where's the front entrance to our aunce? And one boy look, he looked like I was speaking in another language. And then a young girl who's walking past.
You just go around there.
And at the front of the no I saw all the emergency service workers. I'm trying to one of them will go on, geez all right, Andrew, and look they.
Would know I don't know anything.
Found out someone from the rural Fire Service. How many?
How many Layland brothers were there? To Michael, Mike and Mail? Mike and Mail.
You remember a lot of stuff I think now Leyland still does stuff with the doc that's really on his full drive. Shottle Duck's the new one of them, the way Dock's going, the new Alby Mangal have a night on John Staley show. Yeah he does. He's broom Yeah yeah. He was in the Kimble's last week as well. Well, he gets around, doesn't he. Hey, guys, we have got a limon. Hey, David's on. Lorman got I David, Hey, you go and thanks mate, what's happening? You got a recommendation for MG.
Yeah, instead of using these to shave your head. The boy it's an electric raiser from America. It's called the brand called and.
Got one.
And you can shave your face with it and everything as well. He's still us in the chat with your missus because it's also.
Well, I.
Was called a groomy g R double I ny e is that an ander zone? They're very similar. There's about three or four on the market. SIM and the battery operator or you can charge them before you get in and you can use him in the water. You use him in the water, Yeah, don't go as close as a razor.
Okay, can I feel your hair head? Yeah, it's beautiful, that's fair. It still does a good job at the factor took off half of his head where he's got wrinkles though that there's still here is very bit you give it.
I'm not get a razor out.
You can do the restaurant. That's going to be great for radio. Thanks for your thanks for your recommendation there day as well. Hey guys, we've we've forgotten the best bushman of all time, Russell coy around. He's still doing stuff. What about that grand and he's got so good.
Well, just can't get through here.
I was watching so the other night on YouTube that was so funny.
What was the original show he was on?
I think Full Frontal it was? What was it was? It wasn't Full front of.
Late the Late Show, Rusty cor Was it the Late Show?
I'm not sure, but it was it was with Yeah for two years?
Who was it with? And he was what?
He was a regular in our show when I was with Mick Glenn Robins. He good, he's funny Blake chair b Blake.
Anyway, who's Harry Butler?
Butler? In the world this would be called yeah?
Was it?

Good?
Boris are good?
Thanks?
Mine?
How are you?
Yeah?
Not too bad?
Hey?
Off the top of your head, how many games you reckon theory and blue I started for the Blues?
Probably none, off the top of her head?
Yeah? Nine six, probably none? Oh yeah, seven? Seven, seven?
Seven?
Is it okay?
They played last week.
With the.
Yeah that's one?
Yeah?
How many successful ones?
Probably none?
Three?
Three?
Okay? Yeah?
I watch your point, champion.
Well, why do they keep getting a chance like.
No one?
Who would you have instead of them?
Well?
I don't know how Burton doesn't get picked.
I don't know what more he's going to do.
He built for Origin and yeah, I reckon that's what the is a missing, especially his kicking game.
Well, he might get a chance in the third game.
Mate.
We don't know what's going to be, what's going to happen in the next couple of weeks, and who they pick and who they don't pick.
But if Clear is fit, he'll be there, yep. And I would think of if.
Lewis fid, he'll be there, So he might not get a chance. He's been a bit unlucky in that area, isn't he.
That's a problem. Why why would they be there? I fit like there's had seven cracks at it for only three wins, Like, why doesn't someone else get a chance the penis but he's not working in origin.
Yeah, it's the look, I'll get your point.
I do.
And I suppose if this wasn't a life of that situation at the moment with the decider looming, they might have gone that way. But I don't think they'll change it now made that as a decider at acre On on what two weeks time? So but yeah, lookuse, I suppose it's up to them now. It's up to Jerome and Nathan to both perform for the regress this year. But next year before I whether they get another shot. And I agree with you with Matt Burton. I think Matt Burton has made it for Origin. I'd love to see him get a crack it. Maybe I'm a fourteen even maybe instead of the current one of the man.
Not know, but how many games as he played because he got a blue didn't he with the Queen's Land?
That guy years ago? A few years ago?
One or two? What's one or two?
He ain't up in those games as well? He was a good play play great.
He's a good player chance, But I mean, you know, it's a matter of do you want to have We didn't see too much criticism of Blue Eye before the didn't go it's pretty good?
But you called there Luke, hey, big man, what your day is just about to get so much better here because if you take a look to your right there, look at that beautiful Dann Mason.

They brought him tough.
I got some great presents, so we'll go home and look at them. I can't remember what they were. They're good, well, set of towels and a set a cup, photo of myself with my little grandson.
That a frame. It's very nice.
And what about dinner tonight?
You guess we're we're not going out anywhere, but I'll be half asleep all the time I get.
I'm take me two hours to get out of here difficult.
Yeah, do you know what?
There's a trick. But I sometimes put my car into the car wash. You've got prime parking at the exit. It there, I leave it, I leave it there for ye but how long can you leave it?
Bring on?
Are you Underneathaum? We had to walk over from the entertainment quarter underneath you hang.
On, Dan and what do you do? I'm intrigue because I passed. I parked in the entertainment quarter as well. And I did see those guys washing the car and they do have the best the best spots there.
Yes, So you give them your car and your car keys and you say, hey, can you wash it. I'm going to come pick it up after the game, and they just leave it in one of their car car parks.
Claim the cost of that on Channel Night.
No should I?
Yes?
Okay.
I actually had a bit of an expensive parking fine at the airport the other not fine, sorry, parking charge.
At the airport the other day. I'm a bit nervous.
I am a bit nervous to give it into Channel nine much was it three hundred and fifty.
Dollars ballet yep, yeah, of course I didn't think it got that expense.
That's expensive. Yeah, I mean for how long? How long was all?
I flew to Perth on Monday and then we didn't get back until late We were delayed, so we got back on Thursday night, so that's.
About right then.
Yeah, yeah, what did you pay?
Pilet?
Well, we flew Tuesday morning, didn't we And I was back Thursday morning at six ams.
Only paid one hundred and one hundred and something dollars.
Usually that's it, but when the three fifty came out, I was looking.
I'm a bat on the West Side Park Park and fly.
Yeah, for three days.
It is great value. I'll be taking that up to Tomline.
Park and fly.
Tom yea.
Anyway, Danica, thank you, Sam, I appreciate it. You're coming in on the top of a chocolate cake.
I'll tell you what what kind of what kind of cake? Do you think that it's? I know it's chocolate, but what are that? It's a mob cake? Look, this is like hard stuff on the top most No, it's a kit cat, doesn't it?
Cat?
The kit Cat?
Is it?
Take?
Thanks? Aunt? Danica, see you later tonight.
Thank you. We'll go now with Hey God, it's not a bad idea there with the washing of the car. And then that is a good idea.
What thefore I come here? I'll be doing that well. I think we can.
Table.
He can't the game. Don't put that up. But don't let anyone pinch that. Andrew, you did a good job today, Andrew. Yes, I loved Denny because she's a good girl.
Richard. On the text line here, guys says MG's a great addition to two GB sports team. He's always entertaining with great stories. There you go, thank you, Richie. We will take a break. Is the continuous call team. We slab the firees leading the police eight points to four, seven minutes to go in the first half. We are the continuous call team. Around the grounds we go for macas and it's the Sharks eight over the Broncos Neil. That's sixteen minutes gone in the first half.
There boys, yes, also around the grounds Dragons twelve Tigers four twelve minutes remaining in the second half for the NROLW trial.
It is very much so in your team there, and we do have the firies over the police here eight points to four. That's four minutes to go in the first half. It's now time four.
On the Continuous Call Team MGS Power Rankings.
I wait for it. Yeah, I know.
I am the new boy here. It's excited to continue his Core team.
And I just want to say that I loved every second of it since I've been to here until yesterday. Yesterday when I tuned into the boys, and what happened, well, were in the year producers and the bosses and the boards and you know, part of the team. You've got to bring some content to talk about over the weekend. So I come up with an idea for power rankings. My first one wasn't that good, which I put my head up for.
A male, I said, alpha males.
I said, I want to find out who are the five biggest alpha males?
I said yourself. Well that was you know, I take one of the team. Then said never again.
So that same week, I said, okay, let's do biscuits, which which is a good one, excellent, and we did when last week, when we did last week, we did, yeah, that was great. Well yesterday, what happened, well, I thought, the powering is what kind of his wine they are?
You know?
I heard them on the Saturday edition of The Continuous Core Team yesterday.
Excuse me, yeah, christer Browman brought it up. He said, you know what I reckon we should do?
Didn't you know me?
Have you painted?
Did you have you paid?
No?
I haven't painted them. I should and slam the mate.
Well, okay, yesterday, what was your power rankings?
Top cities, top five cities in the world.
Boring with number two? What number two? You know what happened?
He had fifteen people ringing up read with him, text him, texting, you have QC.
KP and the sunshine banned everyone.
Well, today's is a lot, yeah, a lot simpler today. Today is simply the five best things to have on toast.
Yeah, I'm not having at number one. Don't worry about alpha males, mate, this is this is stuff, okay coming in.
Number five's peanut butter.
You can't go wrong with it. I'm trying to argue with.
Number four is grilled cheese.
Yeah, I like them both.
Number three is avocado, Yeah, I love it, smashed avocado with vegimin, a little bit of lime over the top of that.
About a little bit of I'm getting vegimon because vocado.
No, haven't tried that yet. I'm just Number two is Veggieman you never tried vegamine nevocardo together. Miss I thought seven second, I thought one. I would never have played halfway through the footy call mate, this is what be good? The number one here.
Number one on the best thing ever to have on toast is tomatoes.
Tomato.
To give you a bit of a chance over the last few months take it out and you generally you've been a nice edition of this show. But some of the stuff that you came up with is just crap.
The number one thing to have toast, what do you think it is?
Tomato?
I don't even think butter. Butter is a no brainer.
But you have just gone past me. But I was gonna have butter at number five. I thought about that this morning. I thought, we have butter on except for when you have avocado. I don't have butter on my toast. So one when I missed out was closed with baked beans.
So the fact that you've come out with tomatoes for number one, it's a worry.
I haven't four times a week, four times a week on tomatoes and toast toast.
Yeah, but no butter? Do you have?
But this morning salt and pepper, pepper this morning had throwed tomato and bacon.
So do you have butter on all the light? Would you have butter and peanut?
Butter?
Butter? And yes, So I would say that butter would probably be the number one.
Com It's a fatal complete.
Yeah, I actually think you almost overlooked butter. But yeah, it just goes on everything. That's till you mentioned it before. I had to overlooked butter.
And I was thinking of for those people out there have never had a slice of toast, I think you've got to be.
Accurate, and that's not the number one people have on toe? What about the poor people slice of toaste? What would you say to them? Let me, I'll give you a chance to change your tips. You okay, what would you say to the people have never had toast? What should you put on?
Number one thing? To put the butter? Thank you? Yeah, so you're you're wrong. There you go.
But everyone, that's not my favorite taste. That it's not my favorite tasting, but it's not. Tomato is my favorite tasting.
There their MG's top five powering. So that's what he wants. Not necessarily they are, well maybe not the t gbs. I've got. I've got one that I like to my top five.
It's very, very out wide and I'm spoken about this performance in sardines, Oh, sardines, tomato sauce on tape.
It is absolutely beautiful. Speaking of bear grills, you would never have had it, MG. I grew up on it, sardines on taste.
So I've worked with you for a number of years, and over the years I thought I'd just give you the benefit of the doubt with regard.
To bread, and.
You've explained it to everybody. And this is the reason you often sit on the back row when we're.
Like this your bread, your bread big. I know it would be when I do have sardines. Make sure can we open this up to the listener. I think you do have it wrong, MG. With the tomatoes at number one, one, three, one eight seven three, you enjoy putting on your By the way.
We did this a couple of weeks ago with the biscuits, and one of my mum's friends, Kerry, sent me everything that I mentioned in the top five as in a little parcel.
So Kerry and.
Baz, thank you for your biscuits.
She said, niece, no, niece down, it's some idiot marm few shaves Kingston's.
Yes, oh yes, a.
Great little packaging. Thank you, Kerry. Could you bring it on for us?
I should put it today?
Yeah, well you should have.
Well, I thought it was a sad day thing, but now that I'm kind of more.
Relaxed, Guys, I love putting. I love putting peanut butter and strawberry jam together on a piece of toast. Is that like peanut butter and jelly and americanly what it is? PJ ye.
I would never do the big punt PJ, PJ, PJJ PJ.
Panut butter and honey is not bad, But I also missed out. I like I grew up on thing just beat featured on toast.
You're me with him and not meet this weak.
How long you're saying you grew up well? Having beetroot on time, Chris.
Every Christmas Eve there was not a treat It was like it was like when you come from a housing commission.
Housing was what beet on toast was a treaty. I think it was just the thing we had, but it was good. Do you still have that those days? Or grew out of that?
And I like about pecks paste?
No, I hate it?
Did you have it? But as a kid.
Absolutely is that the pink thing little little than the door of the fridg yeair little yeah, cream cheese is not the one.
That's good on Yeah, that's real good. Not that good for you, Hey, guys, the egg on toast is good. The phone lines have gone off here. We've got plenty of notice. Anything to do with food goes off. So don't worry about your right alham the normal stuff and let's go to Gary good Aye, Gary.
Hell way, gentlemen, gat guys, you big fellow. This is a yearnit for Mitchell.
Mike, Oh I might How are you, buddy?
Oh yeah, not bad. We've got that desert golf out here this weekend, oh last here with the opera, Last Stolet, which my wife sat out there and was and we had to pay one hundred and ten dollars to watch it.
There.
I saw the story, but.
I don't know who he is. Beg your pardon.
You've been dirty better having to pay one hundred and ten dollars.
No, No, I live across the road from the golf course. I've got a lot for donen it call it it's called the seven tens. I said, yeah, we all have a beer the Red wand the Misers. We just sat out there a little fire and listen to these idiots single opera. Yeah, going back to that young one about the sardines, right, Yes, when I was poor, Blake said to be getting tomatoes, tomatoes, tomato, sardines in the tiny and then you put them on, put them on, put them on on on your bread. No better, just put on your bread. You put a slice of that cheap cheese on top. You put a bit of Tabasco sauces, salt and pepper and onion, and put under the gorilla until the until your cheese or bubbles up and goes brown. Yes, it's a snack of champions mate, really like a football. Put a hard on on the jellyfish.
From from Queensland and Mitchell Queensland Mitchell. Yeah, and on your mate these hey guys, we have one coming through here in on the text line said cheese, banana open grilled boys.
Jesus probably be all right.
Yeah, I'll give it a go.
You know, when I was a kid, we used to have banana on toast a lot. I'm on bread now we used to have apple on bread.
You have read that. No, no, just app sliced apple on bread. No, it's pretty good for about forty years. But probably why you had him back in the day. Mate, No one that is discussed. We had no money. It's not disgusting you in besides apple apple healthy, what do you have on no?
On bread? On bread? Toast? I reckon, have you ever had any? No? No, never, never even thought of it. You're our toast of fishonado as well an apple on bread.
Yeah, you rather than on bread or toached or neither. I don't want to neither. You get that around you later on getting big downky guys, the.
Line's gone off here. We'll get back to plenty more of your cause. We also have the Maroons coach Billy Slater standing get back to the will you room here? After his win on Wednesday night. We are the continuous call team back with plenty more around the grounds. We go for Macis and it's the Sharks fourteen over the Broncos six. That's twenty six minutes gone in the first half. And we've got the Fieries eight over the New South Wales Police four. That's twenty eight minutes to go in the second half. Now we're not far away from kickoff for a huge addition of Sunday Afternoon footy between the Roosters and the Cowboys. You'll hear every moment on the Continuous Call team with Matt Thompson, Big Man, Mark Riddell and Mark Guyer, but you'll also see all the action on nine's wide World of Sports. And I'm police to say Billy Slater, who will feature in commentary for nine, joins us this afternoon. Billy, A very good afternoon to you, mate, Alternoon gentlemen. Well we'll get to origin later, mate, but it's a big day out for the Cowboys, who will be desperate to bounce back after an embarrassing loss at home last week.
Yeah, two tough defeats.
Actually the last couple of weeks come before the buye they went down to the mel And Storm and then obviously we will know what happened last week, so they'll be desperate to turn that around. Going to be a lot harder without Robson and Cotterer as the best part of one hundred tackles there, so that workload needs to be shared.
Do you find it hard Billy to get a read on the Cowboys this year? Yeah?
I think so, because they look brilliant at times, don't they With the footy in hand. They've got young Tom didd And and Jackson Persha in the halves out there. They're still building that combination and obviously young Persia is still developing as a as an NRL player. We know what sort of talent he's got, but the consistency when you're a young fellaw isn't quite there.
But they've got points in them, you know. It's got drink water at fullback.
I think if they can get the foundation of their game right, they'll put a few points on this afternoon.
Yeah, they wonted last year. I think did an upsode as well? I'm pretty sure they did. But have you experienced a comp like we've got here at the moment? I mean I must have been. I've been doing this for a fair while. The inconsistency is just incredible, inconsistent. You can't tip anyone with any great confidence.
You look at last night the Melbourne Store nearly got rolled the Bunnies.
The Panthers went over to New Zealand and beat the team that's in formed without all their stars figure and then the Flying team at the moment the Dolphins got rolled.
By the Knights.
Can't you can't tip it.
It's amazing, isn't it?
Did read on the Roosters because for some reason I don't tip them very often because I find they're more inconsistent. But they're actually going okay, it's going better than I thought they would.
I quite like the Roosters. I like what they've done since their round one performance. After their Round one performance, a lot of us were saying, are they going to win a game this year? They've lost so much experience, but some of their young guys are really standing up. We've got one in the Queensland team in the in the center position. He's a wonderful player. And yeah, like, I really like what Trent Robinson has done with the Roosters over the last three months.
What's it Robert Toyer, who I thought, Wow, didn't that The pass he threw for the Wig to score that try?
He did unbelievably well.
The way he caught it and then he sucked a bloke in and the timing of his past was tremendous. I thought later in the game he got a bit dodgy defensively positioning wise, but Jesus is a good player.
He's only a boy too, isn't.
He Ye we first go games.
Yeah, we haven't seen anywhere the ceiling of what Robert Toy is going to get to. He's a great player, he's an even better person. He is a wonderful person, respectful, humble. You meet his family and you understand why and I've got I've got great time for him. And he's as a twenty year old or twenty one year old, he's playing well beyond his experience.
We saw on the footage here a bit of which will come out later that you were speaking to jeremyh and I pre game. Gave you big hugan. You get to love those kids, don't you? When you coach him. I mean, it's that harder competition when you're involved in origin that you know what everyone's going through, you know how up and down he's as far as roller Coasters game.
But when you see that, it's like a it's a brotherhood.
Yeah, it is them.
G it's quite hard to I didn't actually think I'd feel like this, Like you feel like their father, you feel like like help guiding them, and you do.
You build this relationship with them and they go out there and they like it's a hard.
Game, our game, and they put everything on the line and they try their hearts out and sometimes they don't get rewarded for that effort, but when they do, it's it's such a great feeling. And to see someone like Kurt Man, like I played in Kurtman's debut game for Melbourne over ten years ago, and then to to give him that that news that he was going to represent the team that he grew up loving and idolizing at age thirty two, like like, that's something that I'll never forget.
I tell what he's not good at getting on flights to get onto our flight.
You're right, that's all he'd won. After that.
Consequently, what's like talking to Capable about coming back into the system, Like he's a veteran and had al he's.
Probably probably argued with the best player on the field.
Yeah, he was great.
He was great, And you know I had to speak to him before game one as well and let him know that he wasn't in the team. So there's some really tough conversations, but there's some great conversations as well. And Kurt's a wonderful player. He's a he's a real team first player. There's a reason why he played in a premiership winning team at Penrith. There's a reason why he was in the Broncos team and they went to a Grand final and so close to winning the premiership. And there's a reason why the Warriors are doing so well. They've got players like Kurk Capweller that.
Are willing to do anything for the team and we saw that on Wednesday night.
There were some really nice moments pre game before. I don't know if you would have seen it on Channel nine, Billy, but you were sitting next to Cam Munster and he handed you something. It was a bit of music or something that he handed you, and I would love to know what he was listening to first, you know, imagine he was watching play school a little.
What a.
Wow?
Geez that's on cue that I don't even that wasn't even pre prepared.
He's mate, can I can?
I I just want to ask you you personally, how did you pull up because there's a pretty stress stressful.
Week for you.
Yeah, and I mean at the end of it, you're one. It must have been just fully drained.
I reckon thought.
I thought my attention days were gone once I finished playing.
But yeah, not so much. But look at it. I'm good.
I'm fine. I've got some good family around me. I've got some good people you know, around me, and I've got a few horses as well.
That helps out.
So yeah, no, look I'm good.
Good to hear, buddy, Thank you. Well, don't forget you can hear all the action on the Continuous Call team and see it on Channel nine. Billy, thanks so much for your time this afternoon, mate. Hope it's a rip this afternoon and a good call for you guys in channel nine.
I think it will be.
Thanks guys. We'll take a break here, we'll be back with plenty more of This is the Continuous Call team around the grounds. We go for macas and it's the Sharks over the Broncos twenty two points to six. That's thirty three minutes gone in the first half. MG. Your Power five rankings mate, are coming through right now, and we do have Paul from Newcastle Online five. Get a Paul.
I think I heard Big Man mention it just quickly, but I put eggs at the top of the list.
Yeah, eggs are goods. They take a bit too long about the cook.
There seems to be a lot of take about two minutes. There sounds to be a lot of add ons onto your thing. Did you you forget about the eggs? Yeah? Are we actually looking for the power rankings? Here? Are we just looking for what's convenient? Probably?
What's convenient? What type of eggs do you have made? Do you have scrambled eggs chicken? Yeah?
I have a poached toast. Eggs are the best? Yeah? What else do you have besides eggs? Is what's your second favorite?
Baked beans out of the teas?
Yeah, yeah, it's one of your best. Thanks for you bet in the top twenty one. No, not in my top five.
So I like them.
One I'd like to toss up and it's a combination. Thanks for a call there, pol ham cheese, tomato, and that's what I know. We've said cheese, ham cheese, Tomato's.
Talking like one slice of toast, don't you.
So?
Why couldn't you have ham, cheese and tomatoes?
I'm going to make a statement, you know, I'm going to call you out on this. Yes, please, most people who have toasted ham cheese and tomato sandwiches po slices.
The no, you don't think so?
No?
I think people would have him that's called a melt. Yeah, a melt.
Thank you open people. They would say more than fish that. I'm just saying I would have that in my top five. Don't put words in my mouth.
I'm putting words in your mouth because you have made some stupid statements.
I tell you what my old man used to eat, guys and always used to talk about. He came from England, Kent in England, and they used to have You couldn't know. They used to have toasted bread and dripping, yes, which is that? But we were pul mate and that's what we used to have. What did it tastes like? Though, Darryl isn't. I didn't. Dad did, okay, But it was it just the fat that they had.
It was just like the fat mate that well, after you've cooked a roast or whatever you cooked, it's just the leftover fat and they just eat it with bread. They tip it into a container around container with a great like a thing on the top that strains it rained all the food out of the dripping or called and you leave it in there and the next morning you'd be solid. The dad would make toast and just get used the solid stuff would put it on like butter and eat it.
I don't worry about that's where you do it.
That's that was it?
Getting back to sardines. Yes, so I'm starting to gather a little bit of a taste mateovies. Oh do you like? No? Not on toast? I can have them neither here nor they're okay? Sorry I thought I haven't looked at him like that?
What that?
I love olive? Yeah, I'm just too salty for you, But I just love sardines. John West, sardines in tomato sauce.
Such difference between sardines and anchovies, it would be are smaller, I think, Yeah, And.
They sold them. They sold me like that the sardines. They sold anchovies a lot as well. They're very very salty. Let's get back bored. We've got Brett from the Central Caskday Brett.
Yeah, here you go boys, all right Brett were good?
All right, yeah, good good? Just two quick things the seventeens on toast, smashing a bit of vinegar, tomato on top and salt and pepper.
Beautiful.
How good it sounded with me? Despicable? Money got next.
Be taking mind for years. There's an MD and apology.
For Brett Dune.
The nineteenth nineteen ninety four. You're playing for your minor. You played the Entrance Tigers as were walking off into the changing rooms and I yelled out and said a chicken legs, guyer, and you turned around, took about two steps towards me, and then I talk about four steps backwards and it will be mates, because there's a big crowd there just to watch you. You're a champion. And I fell flat on my.
Well, Brett, I thought you were going to say, because at that same game, as I was running out against the Entrance, I got I got served, the summons appear in court because I hadn't paid some bills.
Yeah, you know he do like the guard of honor for the reserve.
Great making the guard of honor for when I was running out, and when this blake jumped through the guard of honor and gave me an envelope with the summons, he goes, you've been served.
He didn't. Yeah, what my.
Mind for about twenty five years.
Oh, Brady boy, I'm glad. I'm glad that was that was cathartic today. Mate, we both got off our chest. Buddy, Well, that's a lovely apology. Good work there, Thank you.
Called man to apologize and also eat that crap.
Already appreciate it. Brett's starting the line there, we're going to send you a showbag. Yeah yeah, yep, we will end a summons. Mickey's online one good amc.
Is that me?
Is that me?
It is Mickey boy?
Yeah, okay, let me turn the radio. And I just wanted to put you straight on some of that the toast right they're tripping on toast and let me tell you, let me just let me.
No, you're out a shock might have definitely don't think he's when he doesn't have to use the phone. Stop bringing us. We'll take a break. We'll be back with plenty more. Hold on if you're there, we'll get to your calls straight after this. Around the grounds we go. It's half time and it's the Sharks twenty two points to twelve. They've just had someone sent to the symbin as well, haven't they, Darryl? Right on half time?
Britain the core three seconds ago the last time got ten in the bin. So it's then the Broncos just scored a try, so you know they're pretty comfortable.
Now it's going to be Katawa. Did I say Britain. Ni.
Sorry, it was Katar with the winger who did a silly thing.
He was on the ground and like it was, he wasn't never on side and he's tried to ankle tap a bloke who ran. So it's a they're having a Captain's challenge here right on half time year.
This is crucial because I reckon what they're going to do here. The Broncos.
If they win this Captain's challenge, they're about thirty five minutes out, the forty minutes out, they might do a two point field goal.
So who's gone for the Captain's challenge.
Or the Broncos. He's in there, he's in Will Kennedy.
Well, he's knocked it back and it doesn't it doesn't touch the line. So they play on here. So it looks like they'll lose the challenge the Broncos. And the only question mark Bigam look completely convinced his.
Last foot when he went in the air, his last step on thought he might have just been on the touch line, but how would you know one three.
He miss not making touch. That's one of my biggest bug bears in coach Killer.
Yeah, while we're waiting for the for the result there boys, we might go to Aaron get a Aaron online too. Boys.
There you go.
Good thanks man.
That's the way to send him from Queensland back there.
And I thought I'll give you Bore the call and say what's going on?
And you got your birth out of the big man.
Thank you. That's very nice of you. Good on you man.
Did you say you're coming from Queensland to do you said Wiles.
Yeah, but yeah, just left quiem In this morning, flew in the Gold Coast and then just drab.
Good on you mate. I hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for your call, Mike. We'll guide along three Rusty ah a you guys, good buddy.
Guy, many happy returns, big bomb.
Thank you, Rusty. I'm giving mcgatz here today. You are the station in the economy, the emergency service.
You to plim up there and up there. Why on the end of the Harlem But many weeds always type of the b R L subsist And we used to play again to place a ten right k why Bennett?
Oh yeah, well, well he's the next policeman, wasn't he, you know, policeman as well. I think Jack pet Jackson was.
There was a there's a number of the South boys in Brisbane who played for the for the police or worked for the police and then played for for them as well.
So uh, they're well just a.
Great the actually went out of the past, the South Britain Bagot.
Yeah, Bennett, Yeah, absolutely he did. But he played for Australia too. You know, he's an Australian player here. He wouldn't have played many games, I don't think, but he did play for them.
But he that thought the place thoughts were almost undatables. Of course I was so sick and world glue.
Well that's probably what he's.
There, you go, we're looking at the now.
But at the end of the day, everyone we used to get that many players turn up because it's the only way in those days he could legally sell the copper.
Yeah, it was going somewhere, Rusty, great call mate, we arelet's start Rusty. We are the continuous call team back with more around the grounds. We go, boys, it's half time and it's the Sharks twenty two points to twelve. Did you tip the Sharks? Who did you pick? Brisbane and Brisbane? Yes, you've gone Broncs as well. Yeah, I think Daryl's the only one that's tipped the Sharks. Yep, he's had a pretty fat, sort of old weekend he's had.
Here he's leading the TGB tipsters.
It is.
It's time for the continuous Call Team Sunday Footy Quiz one hundred and fifty dollars lows digital gift card to be one. You've heard the first grab, let's ge hit off the second grab.
Just a few little areas that we need to tiy up.
Ooh, played again for us mate, Just a few little areas that we need to tiy up preend.
Yeah, I think he's got a lot of areas in each.
Got him all over it here aj Jeff's online one here as well, Dara. We won't go to here, but they're saying, would you be able to wish his granddaughter a very happy birthday as well? So do we know a name birthday there?
Hello?
Granddaughter of Jeff? Is it happy birthday? Darling?
You're born on a great day, so hope you have a good day.

We've still got that third question coming up the next hour and we also have Rob Rogers, the new South Wales Fire Rural Fire Service Commissioner, coming on and he will be giving out the men of the match for us today as well. Between the Roosters and the Cowboys, we'll take a break for some news and come back with plenty more. Yes, welcome back, third hour of the Continuous Call Team full time here and it's the Firefighters fourteen over the New South Wales Police ten halftime. As well, we've got the Sharks twenty two points to twelve over the Brisbane Broncos. Last night the Panthers were over the Warriors twenty eight points to eighteen. The Knights defeated the Dolphins twenty six points to twenty and the Storm defeated at South twenty five points to twenty four in Golden Point. Now, Boys, some really good news coming out of Brisbane. The Broncos have donated more than two hundred thousand to the club's charity partner, Black Dog Institute, from proceeds ray throughout the Black Jersey initiative. In what was an Australian sporting first, the Broncos wore a complete Lately black jersey during a dedicated Mental Health Round match against the Gold Coast Titans earlier in the month. The jersey was designed in collaboration with Black Dog Institute, an apparel partner Assex. A check of two hundred thousand and eight two hundred thousand, eight hundred and forty one was given on behalf of the club by CEO David Donahey two Black Dog Institutes Colin Moore at halftime of the Broncos verse Sharks game at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
And fantastic, that's a fantastic first one in Australia to do it.
Wow.
How good were those jerseys? Oh wow, really cool? How good were they?
They'd be able to selid number of them too, And yeah, you would think you think they'd be doing the same thing we think.
I think.
Do you think we've come to a part of our game where we've got to have a mental health round?
We used to have it?
Did we not have it? I'm not sure.
I don't think we do.
Sure, probably better because there are a number of people associated with the game and they do have a problem in that area.
Lots and lots.
Every club would have people affected by mental health. And it's not just the boys.
It's a girl, of.
Course it is.
So I think that's a great I think it did. MG.
You are man of the people. I'm loving you.
Thanks buddy in good word.
And also I think that every club should adopt that black jersey that brought for at least one game of year.
It's a brilliant jersey. You can imagine if and I'm not sure whether they're putting them on sale or not, but I think.
The punners would flock that, wouldn't they.
Yes, they look great, you know, And the Broncos have done a brilliant job there.
They did afternoon team. All the best to you big d on your birthday today. I met and spoke with you at a Marquee footy day at the Oaks in twenty sixteen. Great day that was. I've been thirty years plus listener of the show, Darryl, and you are one of the rock solid members. Great stuff, big man and I have the blue smash you Queenslanders in the last origin. Happy birthday from Scotty. So he Scott, he was.
Going so well for he was great there for quite a while there, acharograph. The way to get to my heart is to wrap me, There's no doubt about it.
Or feed your.
Ramp, give me money, say nice things.
And then he just stuffed up, just kicked off with the second half as well. It's still the Sharks twenty two points to twelve. Darryl, you did allude to a few of your birthday presents that you got this morning.
There was yeah, glasses and some glasses at me with with big h p grand it's beautiful.
So yesterday I got some presents. What did you get? So I got I have to get my club's regripped, so I went and that was a pretty easy one there, you know, what I mean, I go and do that myself. While we were up there, We went and had a game of put put with the kids, did all that sort of stuff. It was really good. Actually a bit of a stressful put put put Where were your mate? Run him through the put put experience?
What happened? Seriously, put put shouldn't be stressful for it.
It shouldn't be stressful, but it get quite stressful because you have a bit. No, I didn't have a bet. No, we were playing with the kids. The kids had played sport or so they were a little bit sort of tired. Yeah, you know, we want to in a little bit wingy, I would say. So I had to go and get my club's regrip, which means you put the new.
You're talking about the putt putt club. You had to get it regripped.
Golf club. I'm took my golf clubs golf clubs at the put No I did it. No, So I took eight clubs to because there's a driving range right next to the put put course. So you can go and get your club's regripped while you go and play put putt. So the guys, I said, are they going to be ready after eighteen, He said, no, better to do thirty six holes. So we know that there's your first problem. Who does thirty six holes? Who does kid?
Yeah?
Yeah, Laura and the two kids. Well, there was a few little dramas. First Aden was pretty good. Yeah, second eighteen, you know they start to lose the plot a little bit.
Yeah, what about the kids?
So Grace's on the first hole? What about Grace on the first tile? So it's one of those ones that's it's going up a hill a little bit. So she was sitting there. She hasn't played much part put before, so she's nine.
Yeah, so what did you try and correct the swing?
So Laura said to her, you're probably going to have to give this one a little bit to get it up the hill. Well, she has slapped this this golf ball as hard as you could put like a hockey park. This thing it's gone up the ramp, but it's got airborne and it's it's gone over the and it's ended up outside the course of the put part?
Did she accept a penalty for that?
A penalty? What about a new ball? A new ball? Well, there was a guy in the car park that just threw the ball back to us. A lot. The hell's going on here? A purple ball coming over? So anyway, my son then puts the ball into the water. Yeah there's a tough hole. Yeah, no, this is on a different hole. So he puts his He puts his ball into the water. Now, there's usually things there that you can little scoops that you can because the balls flow and you can go and scoop the ball out. He didn't want to do that, MG. No, he did want a favorite stood. He wants to lean over. Ye, he wants to lean over the pond and try and scoop it out with with his part. He's six. So as a good dad, I said, listen, mate, there's a scoop there. What's going to happen is you're going to fall into the into the pond and ruin the rest of the day for the everyone else. He's my dad. I'm fine, mate, Like no, I'm an injured dad. I can stay on the side of this. So we were halfway around. Probably, yeah, you should.
Want to be a good story. Anyway, what happened this time? What do you mean, Well, it's take you a long time to get to the crescendo.
Well, Finn obviously fell fully closed. He hit the pond. He wanted to be Finn McCool the of the putt put center, so fully closed, freezing cold yesterday you can imagine fifteen degrees it was there yesterday. So we had to abandon ship scoop to get him out. No, I didn't use it. I should have gone out there to hold on throw one of those one of those lie in the water. Hey, this was halfway through our first round, so we slad to get through the whole round. So you didn't know clubs were regrips.
Okay, last number one.
We're out of there. So that's what that was the story. Thanks Piggy, you're the one who brought up so what happened? You told me.
Finn fell into the water in the first round. In the first so you had two rounds?
Yeah, so we had We played thirty six holes, so we had to go and get him changed. Did okay? Got out because he was praised thirty six holes of pup pup, No one, we had to you're asking for it with two young kids, did you You.
Know the last hole of put were the ad toll. If you hit the ball into the hale, it's just cripples. You later, did you did you seal?
You did? You sealed? The ad tolls so the ball wouldn't go. No, I did it, so you can pay for thirty six or just no. You start on the back nine, so it doesn't. So there's there's two. That's a very good that's a very good question. Thank you. So we start on the back on the back eighteen and then you come through and the front eighteen has that one where the little where so.
These player has got thirty six actual goal thirty holes holes?
Yeah? Where was it? It was that thorn. I actually saw Matt Thompson there as well. He was out there hitting some.
He says he plays real golf. Is he only played put?
But no, he was out there at the driving roof. There was a driver.
Yeah, because he threw a club. Don't tell me threw a club playing?
But but why did he throw a club? He gets cranky, w A, he gets cranky when his son wears golf.
All the time.
Where is he? Hey, he is out, he's asking him, he's doing preparation.
He's ever thrown.
Had a beautiful dinner last night as well, guys, some Korean chicken. And we also started a new series of a loan. Oh really, what series one in Canada? Okay, you don't know what number it is, one to eleven at the moment.
I've got was a hint from your missus?
Eleven seasons?
Is that a hint from your missus? You better watch this because you're going to be like that. I'll tell you what's good in this one. There's a moose moose there, So someone takes down a moose. They're good to go.
For a year. Yes, a big man of you. This this series is alone. I was wet boys about it. It's good. They just they just get dropped in the middle of nowhere.
So they might be ten real and they've got to survive and they get ten I think they get ten items that they're allowed to bring, so it might be like a flint.
And steel mache.
Celebrities or no normal people, and they've got to survive where they are. So they've got to hunt, they've got to gather, and they're.
Got to build their everything, catch their own fish. Yeah, in a show. I'll tell you what about what a good question? Are they celebrities? They pretty much want to be celebrities, no big real But the good thing is that they've all got skills. They're going in there on a round.
Don't for a gun?
Yeah, not a gun, but to get bare spray. Some guys taking a bow and arrow, and what's spray do for them? Bear spray spray away.
I've never heard of bear spray, So he used that with the bears coming to kids because his eyes or something get.
In because they can't give him guns, so they give him bear spray. It's obviously like a pepper spray or something. Then you imagine being the first guy to test that bear spray sting if it works? Done you really?
Yes, I have.
But were you a bear at some stand like the spray?
Yeah?
Nothing bad? No, it wasn't like that. It was like a g you know.
Ye, I had a couple just take I'm interested now, like you know when you.
Go on trips away and what someone took. Someone might have a little bit of that. Where do you buy bear spray from bear spray? I'm not sure Capsican spray. You can get a lot of things overseas.
Big.
There's a side to you that really considers.
Got a shifty little side there where you know you from places and arn't license I.
Believe, and you may pay over the odds for them. You are one sick puppy. What's that place on the way?
Everything's free? Yeah, fish wick fish wik. Where do you get these crackers from? I'm going to ask Rob Rogers when he comes in if this is legal.
He's the commissioner, isn't. He doesn't matter. He knows a lot about stuff. He knows right from wrong.
Bob or Rob?
How good with the old krack and nights? By the way, Well, Rob, same thing, man, Cracker nights were great. Crack and nights were great. You've got to bring those back. I don't think they kep up Bob Rogers, but.
I bet he gets called Bob occasionally because Rob and Bob are very similar, and they're the same Robert and Bob.
Listen. He just keeps digging us so far further into the don't what did he say? Bob Rogers is joining us. I'm going to ask you where is Rob? He's busy, he's busy, he's running a little bit late. Hey, did you used to do cracking nights?
Yeah?
Yes, always, you're old enough.
Piggy to do crack and when I yeah, like when I was young, I remember and Bonfire night he used to call them.
The day after when you're going trying to grab all the unused crack hadn't.
Gone off the night before, Remember that throw them in the.
Tom thumbs were they called? Yeah, they used to be great to kill the parent.
The parachutes be hanging on the telephone wires and what.
Qualifications did you need there? Because the license. Most of the dads were like, oh, yeah, I don't know what I'm doing. My dad don't think you need the license? And no, no, don't need him. Now busy again, mister ship. He's got he's going to want anyone you want to get some fine, we just get picking your call. The police come around in the white whenever you want you. If there's anything illegal you want, give us a call. Hey, guys, Just getting back to my birthday as well. Yesterday. One of the presents I got and it was it was very thoughtful of my wife. She got me guitar lessons. Oh well, what do you think about that? I think it's lovely you got. I don't but I have mentioned in the past that I would love to now as a forty three year old, do something different. Yeah, and I think either piano or guitar looks cool now. Yep, even when you were younger, But it's cool now if you can pull a guitar out at the end of the night.
I tell my two kids it's one of the things that I regret that I never did as a kid, was learn a musical instrument.
And I try and get them. I'm like, do you know how many girls when you can play the guitar? Like boys? Come on? Piano? Piano? So I got a guitar. Yeah, it's it's it's not a really on, just a white vani. Do you want you'll probably a little while. How many Robs here? Oh? Yeah, Rob? And by the way, that's Rob. Yeah. Rob's over in the corner there. We all metal and everything on. So guys, we might have to we might break. In fact, people are saying on the on the text line here that I keep saying we might take a break when we are taking a break. So what I'm going to say here, goy break, we will take a break and be back with plenty more of this is the Genus call team Around the grounds we go and it's a Shark's twenty eight points to twelve over the Broncos. That's with sixteen minutes to go in the second half. Now, just before we get to rob Rogers, we will go to our cross now for points. Back with Nick Ashman. How are you Nick?
I'm good guys, how are you?
Lovely afternoon?
Here's down kicking the ball around at the park with the kids, getting a bit of quality timing.
Absolutely beautiful mate. Now the Roosters are playing to stay in the top eight this afternoon.
They've got a bit to play for done.
They've had a mixed season, but when they're hot, they're very hot. They're a dollar forty. The Chookies this afternoon, Cows who are struggling for a bit of form two ninety five. The lines at eight and a half, total points for the match set at forty eight and a half.
There's been no real action either way.
If you're looking for some try scores, particularly for the Chookies.
Angus Crichton scored four tries in his last five games against the Cows and he's three dollars twenty five to get one today. And Daniel Tupo has also scored four tries and his last five against the Cows. He's a dollar seventy five. So there's something there for those two for your same game multi and in the game tonight.
Kicking off just after six o'clock, paramatter is missing. It's the harves for the night's clash made.
Yeah, but Moses and Brown both out and that seen the Titans despite you know, these two teams are really struggling. To the Titans are dollar seventy three favorite over the years, who are at home at two dollars ten, the line at two and a half, the total at forty eight and a half, No money there.
The hundreds are bitcoy.
They can't put their money on either too, So he's a couple of.
Tries to do it.
What about this josh Adokarr and his last five games against the Cowboys eleven tries he scored. He's a dollar eighty to get one tonight in carm Perira. We know he's a freak. He's had three games against the Eels and he's scored six tries in those three games, and he's a dollar sixty five to crash out of the night. There's something there again, be the same game multing just before I go, guys the golf, the Travelers Championship, Jason Day, the Aussies only five strokes off the lead held by Tommy Fleetwood. He's twenty one dollars to close that gap. Tomorrow morning might be worth having twenty bucks on and get up tomorrow and tune.
In and watch all the action.
Good tip theren neck, get back to kicking the foot, he mate, and enjoy the rest of your afternoon. Will there, guys all the best Download the points bed app bilth different, you win some, you lose more for free and confidential support. There's a gambling help online dot org dot au now boys. As I mentioned off the top of the show, today is the second annual Emergency Services match here at Alliance Stadium. Last year the focus was on the New South Wales Police Force, but today we get to learn more about the work of the New South Wales Rural Fire Service. It's no secret that many of the RFS volunteers put their lives on the line doing what they do, so they well and truly deserve the recognition. So I'm pleased to say that we've got a very special guest in our commentary box with us this afternoon, New South Wales Rural Fire Service Commissioner Bob Rogers, Commissioner. Good afternoon to you, mate, Good afternoon. Well, what a great day is to recognize all the hard work of the New South Wales Rural Fire Service and all its volunteers today.
Yeah.
Absolutely, And look, these people come from around the state. The volunteers have other jobs, but they come together to form that team that helps keep people safe, fires, rescues, helicopter rescues, all of those things. And there's people that are prime minister's former prime ministers. You've got people that drive trucks, but the big equalizer is once they jump on that truck, they're a firefighter.
We all work do the same thing.
Coimm sure.
The big thing with that is the important thing I think for everyone to realize is none of them get paid, do they They're all members and you know that not only are they fighting fires when they're needed, but also a lot of natural disasters as well.
Yeah.
Absolutely, And look in the floods they support sees and our helicopters do rescues from floods.
So yeah, a lot of work gets done.
And you know, you've got seventy thousand people around this state in nineteen hundred brigades that protect people day in.
And day out, and yeah, they're volunteers. So they do a heck of a lot.
But what people get back for being involved in the RFS, and I'm probably a little bit biased because I've been involved in since I was fifteen, is.
That you get a lot of camaraderie.
You meet a lot of good mates that you have for life, and you work together in a team, and you learn skills and you learn a lot about yourself.
It's an amazing situation. Is I'm always wondering this.
The people who volunteer, a lot of them, I would imagine would have jobs, but I imagine some might be hired or whatever. But the people who have jobs that the people who employ them look favorably upon them to do that, Like would they look after them or is it actually costing those volunteers money to do what they're doing.
In some cases, we have people that are self employed and it obviously cost them dollars when they're not working because they're self employed.
But a lot of employers are pretty good and support.
Their members because they actually find that the type of people that do RFS work are pretty good employees. Yeah, they've got leadership qualities, they can work in a team, they know how to get on with people. All the things you need to work in a business, So businesses like people that do that that aren't going to give them trouble, so it's very supportive.
So to be a volunteer, you have to have to have standards or do you have restrictions on like if someone who might be like, you know, oldish, let's say eighty, wants to volunteer to go and help you, are they allowed to do that or do you have some sort of goline guidelines?
Yeah, yeah, Look, I mean they have to be obviously medically, you know, relatively fit like you know. But there's also a lot of non firefighting roles so they can do communications, catering, logistics support. So there's a lot of work and it's the same as anything like that. You know, if you've got one firefighter's probably three people behind the scenes that are supporting that firefighter.
Well, the boys had a good wind today against the policeman. The fire we game was a tight game as well.
Good game.
There's kids or parents or grandparents listening to this right now. How there's one become an RFS.
If they go to the RFS website, so it's RFS dot NSW, dot up dot AU.
They can get involved. There's there's cadet units.
So from twelve to sixteen you can be an RFS cadet where you learn a lot of skills we're doing with schools, but then you can be a firefighter from sixteen years old and as long as you have your parents' permission, get involved because you'll learn some great skills and as I said before, you'll learn some friends for life.
What's the first thing say seven or sixteen or seven year old would do if they if they were accepted.
They do training. So there's basic training where they learn a lot about safety of operating the equipment, making sure they can keep themselves safe. And obviously they then get paired with people when they start going to fires hazard reduction, so you know we make sure people are safe, but you know they have to do that basic safety to make sure they're safe.
Commission I think a big hats off to the Roosters and the initiative of this and the emergency services match here and we were just talking off here last year focused on the new South.
Wales Police Force.
This year it's you guys, it's just a tremendous way that the Roosters have got involved.
Yeah, look, the Roosters have been extremely supportive.
They were supportive of us back in our those twenty nine to twenty fires.
They were very supportive then.
And this emergency service round, I think it's just great and particularly against someone like a Queensland team, it's more to me because I mean the emergency service like Lake. Obviously football teams were a bit competitive without the States, so from us it's like a state of origin.
So I reckon that go the Roosters, but not all of us from that.
There's one over there. It's got to be one though, hasn't he There's one everywhere, Rob, And you know that's why I called you, Bob. You're okay with that, aren't you?
Yes, I am.
I mean you're Robert greg So Robert Bob.
That's what you are an Australian.
You blokes don't know why you're looking at me for because you jumped down the throne.
You picked up with the famous problem. I wish the radio host from.
He was he was pretty famous.
Yes, he was on the second most famous.
Robin. Now, Bob, you've also got you've got the pleasure of presenting the Commissioner's Medal today to the Man of the match.
That must be a huge absolutely, absolutely and as long as that's the Rousters don't be fine with it.
Well, a huge day for you today, mate, thanks for drawing.
By, Thank you very much, thank you.
We'll be guys. We will take a break here and we'll be back with plenty more. This is the continuous call team around the grounds we go and it's getting tight here boys Sharks twenty eight over the Broncos twenty four. That's with seventeen minutes to go in the second half. Piggre We have a few team changes for the day's game. Yeah, got the changes here. So the Roosters they're one to seventeen.
Their eighteenth man will be Ethan King in jumping number eighteen for the Cowboys. Now that's where the changes are. So Rhys Robson we know he won't back up from origin. Carl Lawton, he'll start at hooker in jumping number nineteen. Griffin Neim he starts at proping jumper sixteen, so Cohen Hess then moves.
To the bench.
Ky O'Donnell he starts in the back row in number twenty. Jeremiah Na moves to the bench, which makes Thomas mckayley the eighteenth man for the Cowboys. Ruben Cotter, who we also know won't back up. Sam McIntyre starts at Locke in Jumping number fifteen. Thomas Duffy joins the bench in Jersey number twenty three. Plenty of changes there and the last one Philly Army Valaya he won't play he was originally down to play in the centers. Brandon Burns he starts at center in Jersey number twenty two.
So we have a heap of changers for the Cowboys. Good luck to the commentators, Naryl, do you need them repeated?
Now I've got the same list here that beauty. Here's my changes on my program that it looks like a map.
It's a hard word guys. Just through the judiciary as well. Thanks to Brighton Lawyers, the lawyer supporting you when you need it most. And Scott Sorenson was the biggest one out of last night. He is looking at two matches, three matches if he goes and fights it. But that was for the dangerous contact there as well. Now we know Australia is a proud sporting nation and Ampole is proud to power that sporting passion from Australia's greatest sporting rivalry state of origin to supporting our little league legends. How's the crowd looking at the moment, MG, crowd is building here, the teams have done their warm ups. Yeah, they've thrown themselves back into the sheds and we're about twenty five minutes to go to a kickoff.
Oh A guess to mate. At the moment we have about seven thousand in the stadium. I reckon we'll get to about fifteen sixteen thousand once kickoff comes.
Hopefully those kids with their five dollars tickets are coming through the gates here as well. Boys. But twenty eight points to twenty four, just repeating that score there the Sharks over Brisbane and we do have our mate here. Phil our Nette has sent us an email there I Phil for us they call the biscuits. Are the biscuits? Afternoon one nine Pig pig mg M Big wonderful to be with me here this afternoon for Sunday football. Been outstanding show today to one Eye and big Man. Wishing you both a very happy birthday for yesterday and today. And I have you both having a magnificent day and plenty of food and drink has been involved. As it's your birthday weekend. I'm calling on both of you to lift and produce your best today because he just you know, just send.
The same stuff every week.
It just changes the names around. And who's got a lift he does And on zero four six zero eight seven three eight seven three we have John on here afternoon boys. Was at a junior football game in Queensland this morning and ran into Gordon's tallis and he was very happy to have a chat. Cheers one of the great guys, Gordon.
Gordy tell us, yea, the raging boy got jumped into our box. You are Sunday quick, Jay, didn't he before?
I just get a bit of a break from the latter league.
It was.
I can't before the sun that was there was thirty nine thousand. There are some on Kork Stadium today as well. It's awesome they keep bringing in those huge crowds here. We might take a break here, as I said, about twenty five minutes to go till kickoff here between the Roosters and the Cowboys. We'll be back with plenty more. This is the continuous call team around the grounds we go. Adam Reynolds is just lining up a kick here from the sideline, but it's twenty eight points all Cronulla and Brisbane and he's put it straight between the upright, so thirty points to twenty eight Brisbanes now taking the lead. How are you feeling now, Big marn Yeah, not so Goodunding a bit more chirpy. I am a little bit.
More chirpy here.
The third question in the Continuous Call Team Sunday Footy Quiz for the one hundred and fifty dollars Low's Digital Gift card hit off that third question there for us g Now we still don't have any gash as well. And you guys keep signing.
Everyone really hard.
There's a couple of Bok's playing today, you know them all day a piggy you read the sheep, but very honest. All right? Should we go through them all again? Boys? Because these have been really hard ones. Gee, let's hit off the first one mate, it's up on there. But you seem to think you know who it is. Yeah, I think so, okay, number two there ge just a few little areas that we need to tiy up.
I definitely know that one.
Yeah, that's a's gimme someone's in Daryl's what'sapp group?
The number three?
There?
Please? We still don't have any cash and you guys keep signing everyone. Yeah they're tough today.
I haven't got that one.
They are really tough. Daryl's looking it's a sheet. He's got no idea at home? Of course you do if you think you've got all three answers called the prize line on one three hundred and seven double two eight seven three. It's all thanks to Low's one hundred percent Australian. No, it's still a family business. Loads over two hundred stores nationwide or shop online at Loads. I heard you doing an as well. I did one by myself going on there. Well.
We recorded during state of Origin period and Cero was over in Perth with.
The with the blues.
Okay, so we couldn't do it. It could be to do it well, Double invoice could.
Large company.
They are a great company.
Do you get much of your stuff from lows?
I mean what you know?
Yeah, by a lot of my winter stuff from blows.
Like winter jamis, do you wear long sleeve Jami swear?
I swear shorts to bed.
But in winter, but when it's cold.
Where I've got a fleecy blanket, the sheet that's sheets.
What do you sleep in winter? And no I don't. I go into the into the flannel at what about you picked farmers, I've gone into the gray sweatpants and a T shirt sleeping. That would be because it's winter, it's cold.
I put another blanket on top of our bed. It's beautiful.
I always have to sleep about your shoulders.
I love my shoulder was getting some cool bruise on. I love you know what.
I can't go sleep and let my feet are at the bottom of the no matter what, if it's freezing cold, I've got to really really I've got my foot escaped.
Yeah, same, my fur like my feet hanging out. It's about all that does I.
Know? I was laughing at big one there. I've got the flannelet sheets on my bed.
But then my wife Carli recently bought a brand new blanket for the lounge.
We love having blanket lounges, and it was a real nice I stole it. I stole it for the bed, and she's had to go and buy another one for the lounge.
I pulled the covers back on the doner and the flanelet sheets. I lay the blanket down for myself and I get into the bed with the fluffy blanket, and then I pulled the douner and the sheets over the top.
Like a light blanket.
I like it.
I don't like heavy blanket. No, this is a nice light blanket. But it's a nice softly one, big moonful. I'm a complete opposite. I need that that weight on me. Yeah, with you, you like your weighted blanket, And even in the middle of summer, I will still have a duner on for something. It is.
It's weird.
It is weird.
We've got certain different size is Like we've got one that's really thick for winter, but then we've got a couple of like drop.
Sheets that we have on our lounge.
You paid a lot.
They've kind of like a drop sheet thing. But in winter we have them when our lounge to keep us warm, just to watch TV. I can't stand having the the ducted air on with heat coming through it.
I like, duck there drives you out, does it?
I hate it?
Yes?
I love it in winter. Sorry, summer with the cold comes through. But as soon as it gets air conditioning.
Yeah, and my eyes get super itchy when it starts. It drives all my eyes out.
And so it says, your leg is a duck.
Your bed, I've got how your bed is? Yeah it is. No, we've got full ducted air conditioning around the whole house. So we do have it in there. We got it, but I never use it in winter. I never use it a place as well though, or yeah we do. We've got a gas fireplace there you go.
Have you got a wood fireplace or were at the moment, and we moved recently in the last few months, we're using our.
Ducted as our heating.
We don't like it because we've always had either the fireplace like the proper fireplace to hot fire, or we've had the gas fireplace like big main.
Yeah, we need to put the gas ones downstairs.
It doesn't really help up in the bedroom, but it does the heat does rise and it does make a little difference.
Yeah, you just need to take that a little bit of And I love a gas fireplace, but do you think they're better than wood fight ones? Not necessarily, but they're easier. Work before you do is press a button. And that's the not having at the moment with Karly what you want to She loves the big gas fireplace and that's her argument that she just turns it on each afternoon and it's on give. But there's something about mate, there's nothing better than staring into a log fire glass of red wine and you don't even need the telly. How often do you like you get your logs chopped or do you chop them to size?
No?
I would buy them from the firewood place.
Well, when I had the fireplace like that, I got bought them from the firewood place. But quite often the logs were too big. I like a small log, so I used to cut them myself with the block splitter. And I found that as a form of fitness as well, good you know, to give myself a bit of a workout on.
The on the splitter too much these days. Well, yeah, I'm too half full there mate. Plus I used to get splitters, yeah, picking them as well. Firewood, but it's not cheap these days, is it. I Uber eats firewood, Yes, I did, Yes, I did. Once you went from firewood like a back of it.
Yeah yeah yeah.
So we were running out and wheels like my young blay Will He's like, Dad, we're running out of firewood.
And I'd already had a few glasses of red. I said, man, I can't drive. So I got on uber Eats and I found it and went, yeah, beautiful.
They like the word you buy a service stage.
It turned up with two ton I got a bag of firewood living in twenty minutes.
I always use a kindling from Servos, yeah, to start my fire and then get like a big batch of it from Smith's Produce on the road.
I would much prefer to do that because I think the firewood that you get from surveys and that impassive.
Yeah, you go through you know what if you walked around like I've got a big park near me.
In the old days, I would go and get my daring from the park. Yeah, you know the branches, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I love.
That I still could do that.
You know what that's you know, I felt it bro back to nature.
Oh yeah, you're a problem means you're a nation boy. Yeah, the problem is not raining. If it rains, it takes a long time for that kindling.
Yeah.
But what I tried to do when I bring it home, I leave it undercover.
Yeah. Have you got a shed as well to keep it all dry? You've got all that?
Yeah.
No, No, you've got a ship. But I don't know when I buy it. I use it like the wood. Yeah, so it's kind of a you can stack away. We get through a lot of it.
All right, guys, swear about twenty minutes away from kickoff. Here between the Roosters and the Cowboys, we have all the emergency How good does this look? Boys? Oh wow, they've got all their lights, sirens and sirens going at the moment. We have the what is it the rural fire service going around there. Looks fantastic.
Here.
The crowds are in the build up as well. We might take it. Actually, we will take a break and we'll be back to twenty are This is the continuous call. Tom. We'll have all listen to this. Boys. We have the chopper Land thing. I don't know if anyone else can hear what's going on here at the moment. But around the grounds we go on at Brisbane thirty four over Cronulla twenty eight and that's two minutes to go in the second half.
Here we have had a.
Few guys down in the sheds have a quick talk. We have audio our friend robertson here pre game with Emma Lawrence and Brad Pittler.
Great news that all of your origin players are backing up. I imagine they're all so keen to get out here today. What's your approach generally? Do you leave it up to the players to give you an idea how they're feeling physically mentally?
Yeah, Usually what happens is you ring them the next morning and just ask how they're going.
You've got a plan going in, You watch the game and.
Then ring them the next morning and say you're ready to play or you often know when they're not.
So, Yeah, they're all really keen to get in today.
Now you've seen the game change over time, when you've seen that front rower for Keatie, last week's score, that Troy, what's going through your mind?
Yeah, it's a bit unfair when you're putting umber ten on someone's back and all those front rowers are looking at that footage thinking how did he do that? He's probably getting closer to his position today in the thirteen, possibly eleven or twelve as well.
But you know the way our game is at the moment.
With the sixers again, the game's more open, it's more live. Weights has gone slightly down for some players, so those guys can play in the front row.
Now.
I was talking to Daniel Anderson before he was part of your recruitment team. Now you found Solessie and also Benia in an open trial in Auckland.
Yeah. How much time do you spend non.
Recruiting because you've got the Central Coast up there obviously the local league, how much time you're spending on recruiting.
Yeah, so I mean Roosters. It's pretty clear. We've got three junior.
Clubs in the local area, so we developed through that. We've got a couple of kids there we developed through Central Coast. We recruit in around sixteen seventeen, and then we develop them again.
In Roosters in Rooster's style of footy and training.
So a lot of those kids we have to look at it fifteen or sixteen and bring them in and.
That's what we've done. They came to an open trial. We got the two of them.
It was great to see them debut close together and their families.
Come as well.
Yeah, but that's New Zealand's always serve the roosters over the last thirty years.
Really it's trendy.
It's the annual Emergency Services match. You must be so proud of your club and the work they're doing to honor our great service Managerting.
Yeah, it's just a nice tip of the cap. I mean, most people in service do it in the shadows. They like to stay quiet and do it because it comes from a deeper urpose. And it's nice for us, just through Nick Politis to say hey, thanks, and so each year we're going to work acknowledge the different emergency services and just say thank you from the roosters.
Yeah, he's up for today's game, isn't he, Trent. I think it's a really good I mean, how could you not be up for the game with all these emergency services. They've just done their lap of honor, their mg.
Oh, the helicopters dropped the game ball the scene said.
The crowd, as we mentioned earlier, has built up quickly over the last ten minutes.
Got that chopper was intimidating down out of here.
It was very loud and a lot of changes for the Cowboys today.
Rex Robson is going to be a massive out as he's rubin cot up for the for Todd Payton's bed.
Now and Ja, I'll stay with you here because I need a tip, a first try scorer, and a player to deliver.
Thanks to Snooz Okay, I think the Roosters will be too good for the deploted Cowboys today. I think the first try scorer could be Daniel Tupu, and I think the players.
To deliver up he.
Does every time that they're down in troops.
Is Scott drinkwater for the Cowboys and macas En snooze your tip, your first try scorer and your player to deliver, big.
Man Well, I tipped the Cowboys earlier in the week. I must admit I didn't realize they were going to be a bit short staff, but I'm going to stick with them. I think they can create a.
An upset here.
I'm going to tip Murray t Langy to be first try scorer and play to Wat's well.
I want to watch a couple of the Roosters boys.
I want to watch no Wonga Nita Wazi because I really like him. I know offensively he's got some issues, but Gez you can find the line. He's a good player.
And Piggy Yeah, I'm tipping the Roosters who win this one.
I might tip Marky markn to be my first try scorer this afternoon for the Roosters and my player to deliver.
I'm going to go with Connor Watson.
I want to watch him off the back of Origins gets his start the night.
Go Connor Watson, well, don't go anywhere. After the break, we will have Matt Thompson, Mark Piggy Riddell MG and Darryl Brahman with all the action here the Roosters up against the Cowboys. This is the Continuous Call team on a beautiful Sunday afternoon
