Former NRL star and The Continuous Call Team's Josh Morris has called on a positional switch for a young Penrith Panthers recruit.
Obviously he watched the game last night and yeah, I've got to say Penrith are in trouble. I think their edge defence this year is is horrible. I think um at stages last night they, they just all looked out of sync. I think blaze Talangai isn't a six for mine. I think he needs to be probably put into the centres. They've got obviously Jack Coles out, but they had Brad Snyder on the bench. On the bench sorry. And he made a number of errors in the game. They could have put him on. I realized Summerton was in at the hooking role, but I think it got to a stage where they probably could have put Schneider in it at six. And I think Casey McLean is probably better suited at this stage in his career on the wing. I think there were a couple of stages there last night where if he probably had passed, they probably go over for a try and they could have pegged back the score a little bit. And I think for the first time last night, I actually saw some frustration in Nathan Cleary. I think there was stage. He didn't want to show it, but you could sense it that he was frustrated and, um, not obviously not going his way. You got to feel for the blokes like Isaiah, Joe and the blokes in the middle because they're working their ring out and then the edges are just coming up with poor reads defensively. And you know they're coming up with tries. So they need to fix it very soon because the season is slipping away already at this early stage.
