Fullback battle, Walker's ultimatum, PNG logo & Verrills homecoming

The PNG Chiefs are set to launch their jersey and logo as they continue their march to the NRL. The Sydney Morning Herald's Adrian Prozsenko joins Adam Hawse from PNG, having inspected the players' accommodations. The Chiefs have staved off a legal challenge from New Zealand on the use of their logo, and they have also secured the services of former Blues half Trent Hodkinson as an assistant coach. Contrary to some reports that Hudson Young was on his way to Port Moresby, the Raiders backrower has not been sighted, and the Chiefs are adamant they will not budge on their initial offer of 900 thousand dollars a season for his services. Plus, Josh Addo-Carr is a step closer to knowing his fate and are the Eels entertaining a homecoming for Blaize Talagi?

From the ground in PNG & Hudson Young's no show

The World Cup opener provided league fans everything they could ask for. The Sydney Morning Herald's Adrian Proszenko joins Julian King to discuss the epic win by the Kangaroos over the (perhaps) more deserving Kiwis. The argy-bargy between the Storm and the Eels over the services of Jack Howarth continues, with the Storm centre rejecting Melbourne's offer and is firmly in Parramatta's sights. Again. Bradman Best will go to market on November 1, after reports that Newcastle have offered him less than his current contract. And the Perth Bears have former manly CEO David Perry in their sights.
