Thousands of Black skiers and snowboarders descended upon Snowmass Aspen Ski Resort for ski racing, parties, happy hours, game challenges and tours last week. The athletes belong to the National Brotherhood of Skiers, a nearly 50-year-old group that opens people of color up to outdoor winter sports and that has an annual summit for skiers and snowboarders. It’s one way to draw more people of color into an industry that has historically been dominated by white and male participants.
