Researcher and Africana History professor Manu Ampim will reveal why Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s political and economic programs for America have been suppressed, and he will also expose how Dr. King’s work with the Black Power Movement has almost been erased from history. Memphis City Councilwoman Pearl Walker will also outline the city's plan for 2026 and what the goals mean for the city’s Black community. The MOVES Pam Africa will start the session by providing an update on political prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal and the ongoing fight for his freedom.
