Join us for an engaging and thought-provoking discussion as Dr. Melina Abdullah, founder of Black Lives Matter Grassroots, visits our classroom to share insights from the recent Black Radical Organizing Conference. Before Dr. Abdullah, we will celebrate Black Music Month with two members of the iconic group War. They are set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this Thursday, and we are thrilled to welcome founding member Howard Scott and the only female member, Tweed Smith, to our program. Additionally, we’ll hear from International Journalist Brother Obie, who will shed light on pressing issues in Cuba and across the African continent. Music Journalist Norman Richmond will kick off our Black Music Month celebrations, setting the stage for an enriching month-long experience.
