What happens when the people who were supposed to point you toward Christ become the very people who wounded you along the way? In this deeply vulnerable conversation, Skillet frontman John Cooper opens up about one of the darkest seasons of his life which has included church hurt, betrayal, counseling, the pull of deconstruction, and learning to depend on God’s grace one hour at a time. John shares why suffering has given him greater compassion for those wounded by the Church while offering a powerful plea: don’t give up on Christ because people have failed you. Through it all, John says Jesus has become “sweeter” to him than ever before, reminding us that even when the storm shakes everything around us, Christ remains faithful. This conversation is for anyone learning to hold onto hope, rediscover the goodness of God, and trust that there is life After the Storm.
