The result against Stockport County wasn't all bad. Bolton showed some resolve to get ahead in a tough first half, then to get themselves back on level terms after a ropey spell immediately either side of half time.

But an all-action final 15 minutes felt like the perfect opportunity to seize three points, to close the gap on Cardiff and give themselves just a tiny sliver of hope going to South Wales next week. Alas, it was not to be.
